Hello! I agree the rapture is very close. I know that the Lord has spoken to me several times in the past clearly, about things that were later confirmed. Sometimes though about the approximate timing of the rapture I'm not sure if it's the Lord speaking or my desire for it to be soon speaking. It might make an interesting discussion for another thread, how can we be sure it's the Lord speaking
Lismore, you make a very good point with your question of how can we be sure that the Lord is speaking to us. Let me say that unless we are a Prophet, I don't believe we can ever be absolutely sure. This is why we should always understand that there is a possibility that we could be wrong. For example, while I do believe that Rapture will happen this year, I would never tell anyone to sell all they have and give to the poor as they will not need it after the year is over.
That said, we should not be afraid to say what it is we believe. We feel free to tell others almost everything else we believe understanding that we could possibly be wrong, even our interpretation of the Bible. If we truly believe that Rapture is this year, why can't we say that? That said, there should be some basis as to why we believe what we do that we can state.
First and I believe the most important factor is what we believe should not contradict the Bible. So does saying the Rapture is the year contradict the Bible? Nope! People like to say that the Bible says no one knows
when the Rapture will happen. That is not correct. The Bible says no one knows
the day or hour. So knowing the year is not a contradiction.
Second, does the Bible say we can know the season when the Rapture will happen? Yes, it tells us to look for the signs and also tells us just what the signs are. I believe we are seeing all the signs now that point to the Rapture. Well I should point out that until we were in the season, no one could have predicted when that season would be as the Bible tells us
to watch for that season.
Third our belief should agree with our spirit and there should be some type of confirmation out of our control that confirms this.
Here is something I wrote that kind of makes that point.
God’s Leading
Sometimes there are really important decisions you need to make where you need God’s leading. I don’t have a Bible reference to use for this, but this is what I believe God has shown me and has worked for me in the past.
There are three things I need to happen before I will say that “God spoke to me” or more correctly stated “God led me” as he has never spoken to me audibly.
1. I should have some sense of what God wants me to do, which for lack of a better word or description I will call “a feeling”.
2. I should receive at least one (though I usually...
Now with all I have stated, I am just stating
what it is that I believe. Everyone should just believe what they observe and what they feel the Holy Spirit is telling them. In other words, don't tell others that the Rapture will happen this year because Goodboy said so. If you don't believe it yourself, then don't pass it on just because I believe it.
God Bless!
Goodboy
