In reply to add to my post above- about God being in charge of who gets into power and who is taken out of power.
The scriptures to back up my above post points.

It was just that moment in history when Daniel said this- under an evil king who was being used by God to teach His people and stop them going further down the road of wicked idolatry.

Daniel 2:19-23
19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven

20 and said:

“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.

21 He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.

22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.

23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

God is in charge of history, He deposes kings and raises up others.

It is part of His sovereign plan.

Because
Romans 8:28 tells us this and it's a bedrock truth
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

ALL things, even things we don't understand. Even things like Daniel being torn from his home, taken to a foreign country to serve a cruel king who served other gods, who had Daniel castrated so he could never father children of his own.

Even then Daniel serves God where ever he lands, and trusts God for the outcome. Because as he said,

God

deposes kings and raises up others.

He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.

He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.

my point is the 1 step forward is an illusion.

covid was great, right? so was operation warpspeed.

i dont trust any of them. just Jesus! if only we'd all pray for kings to be removed, and for God to be the one big leader in everyone's life, maybe it'd happen, but the Bible doesnt predict that.
It will happen, only what you are describing is the Millennial kingdom under King Jesus. When everything is set to rights. (even then at the end of the 1000 years it's crazy but true, a certain number will rebel against Jesus, following Satan to their speedy deaths)

Until the Tribulation we should see a lot of back and forth, all part of God's plan to bring prophecy to pass in it's time.

Like the Bible said- In the fulness of time...

At the cross when it was all dark, the Saviour had died, it must have been so black and awful for the Christians. BUT GOD! Who created the entire universe, who is our hope - used the cross to bring us out of darkness into His marvellous light.

That little baby boy born of a virgin in the fulness of time completed what He came for. He paid for our sins on the cross, was buried in a tomb, and on the 3rd day He conquered the grave, He arose the Victor and we who love Him and serve Him are victorious in HIS victory.

These things that God allowed- covid, vaccines that injured some, and outright murdered others- even these black dark things conceived by Satan are being used by our Lord to cause the fulfillment of prophecy.

Because in the fulness of time... we will see these things fulfilled. If not down here, then from the balcony seats in heaven after the Rapture.

No wonder your heart longs for the reign of King Jesus, we all do. Everything else pales in contrast.

This is the thing-- everything that happens ALL works toward the fulfillment of God's plan. As long as our focus is on God through Jesus and our hearts' desire is to obey His will, things will move: swiftly towards His goal. There is no stopping it. It is inexorable and inevitable. God's will SHALL be fulfilled. All we need to do is faithfully make our choices from those options we are given, according to a biblical worldview. We also need to stop thinking according to natural thinking and get our eyes off circumstances and on to God and His will.

this i completely agree with. which is why i roll my eyes at political discussions. people focus too much on the ins and outs of that, in my opinion.

i dont see that it was the result of prayer, though. it happened other times in bible history, but for the millennial reign, i was saying that it wasnt the result of a prayer.
Respectfully I would have to disagree. God is active in our lives. Individually and corporately. He hears and He always answers. And there were literally millions of Christians praying for Him to intercede in this election to keep further evil planners from occupying the White House. Why would any person conceive that God didn't hear and didn't answer, which would mean He doesn't care? That is not the God of the Bible. He surely answered our prayers, as He has always done for those who call on Him in truth ... including Ninevah.

yes but in direct relation to the millennial reign? i don't see a verse showing that it directly follows a prayer, unlike other bible times where the prayer is the reason God relented etc. am i wrong?

No. Absolutely, @janeelaine. You are correct. The millennial reign takes place as a result of God's prophetic word, commencing at the end of the Great Tribulation (which lasts 7 years following the Rapture.) So, indeed, there is no prayer that prompts it: its time and timing has already been determined eons ago in the secret council of God.

I've been amazed at how many atheists & agnostics have been on podcasts & X asking all summer if there is something spiritual going on. I pray for lots of them often: Elon Musk, James Lindsay. Bret Weinstein and others

One of those is Elon Musk. He is so excited this morning! He just posted this compilation, but pause at the 1-min 40-sec mark. Keeping him in prayers, and I'm a little encouraged:
Yeah i was watching brandon hothaus tell Tom Hughes the same thing your sort of mentioning.

Brandon was saying that he's finding more non believers seem to be realising that the world isn't.right compared to the majority of the church!

That's quite embarassing !!!

I listened to Kamala Harris's concession speech. I am disappointed. Sadly, not surprised; but definitely disappointed. I hoped to hear a speech of unity, pulling Americans together. Instead I heard a speech that hinted darkly at malevolent thoughts taking control of America, of the need to keep fighting to try and achieve justice and goodness in America. It wasn't overt in its partisanship, but it was blatantly evident to those practiced in political rhetoric.

She could have said we are all Americans; we all pursue the same ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of justice; But we have different views of how to do that. We have different approaches to the common problems that face all of us. But, at heart, we are Americans who love this country. Let's not allow our different approaches to our common challenges and the operator of our ideals separate us as people, brothers and sisters in this Republic, citizens of this great country.

But I didn't hear any of that.

Instead I heard appeals to her base to keep fighting so that one day they may triumph with their vision. And this is exactly what is wrong with that side (and, to be blunt, with those rabid Republicans who view all Democrats as enemy.) People have to stop looking at their party and start looking at their country. The people of this great nation have common values as Americans, despite having differing approaches to achieving those ideals. And it is this understanding that should always be at the heart of all public discourse. if politicians and people started doing this, they could begin the healing of the rifts in this Republic.

Kamela Harris had that opportunity today. She did not grasp it. And, sadly, as a result, the serious political division that exists in America today will continue.
