I submit that the prayer is also prophetically cast in stone, but I won't argue this point further.

we can both be right on this. the millenial reign is different from what happened in exodus and jonah. i was simply saying that id love to skip all the bad shenanigans ahead, through a prayer that skips it all, but the bible doesnt say that will happen, simple as that.

yes but in direct relation to the millennial reign? i don't see a verse showing that it directly follows a prayer, unlike other bible times where the prayer is the reason God relented etc. am i wrong?
Of course God answers prayers in regards to our Leaders, otherwise why would God's Word admonish us to pray for them?
God places our Leaders in their positions for His purpose and it's appropriate to pray for a Leader that will align as close as possible to biblical worldview, while remembering they are not our Savior but still in position for the purpose God has placed them there.
This doesn't change God's prophetic plan for His Kingdom to come with our ultimate Leader, our forever King Jesus. But until God's Appointed time comes, we should pray for Leaders who will lead as closely to biblical worldview as possible.
We know we have only One Savior and King, Jesus, but until He comes to set up His Kingdom on Earth, God has an arrangement that is meant to keep order and we want to pray that this is what we have.

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way."
1 Timothy 2:1-2

1 "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."
Romans 13:1

We live in a Constitutional Republic and as our founders added, "if we can keep it". It's a blessing to be able to choose who we want to be our leader. If we forfeit that choice we will be just like other countries that are totalitarian and the people are given no rights to choose anything. If we are given the right to choose who our leader is it's appropriate to do it prayerfully.
God Does answer prayers.

I listened to Kamala Harris's concession speech. I am disappointed. Sadly, not surprised; but definitely disappointed. I hoped to hear a speech of unity, pulling Americans together. Instead I heard a speech that hinted darkly at malevolent thoughts taking control of America, of the need to keep fighting to try and achieve justice and goodness in America. It wasn't overt in its partisanship, but it was blatantly evident to those practiced in political rhetoric.

She could have said we are all Americans; we all pursue the same ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; but we have different views of how to do that. We have different approaches to the common problems that face all of us. But, at heart, we are Americans who love this country. Let's not allow our different approaches to our common challenges and the realization of our ideals separate us as people, brothers and sisters in this Republic, citizens of this great country.

But I didn't hear any of that.

Instead I heard appeals to her base to keep fighting so that one day they may triumph with their vision. And this is exactly what is wrong with that side (and, to be blunt, with those rabid Republicans who view all Democrats as enemy.) People have to stop looking at their party and start looking at their country. The people of this great nation have common values as Americans, despite having differing approaches to achieving those ideals. And it is this understanding that should always be at the heart of all public discourse. if politicians and people started doing this they could begin the healing of the rifts in this Republic.

Kamela Harris had that opportunity today. She did not grasp it. And, sadly, as a result, the serious political division that exists in America today will continue.
Thank you. I was wondering if I was the only one that noticed she gave lip service to unity but in a way that said only unity if we do it the Democrat way. I agree that for the next election, the US will see more political intrigue and likely a lot of misdeeds leading up to and during the next election.

I to would say her speech was a form of coded message. I am also fairly confident that it was not her actual words but those of the string pullers who are her handlers hence it was a coded message to be ready to rise up with possible violence down the road when called upon to do so.

Yes - older Gen X here.
I think they have all “had it.” Tired.
Boomer here and I wear that title proudly. Of course many older folks, mostly those coming from difficult back grounds of WWII recovery, some even from those born in the middle of the Great Depression are very dissatisfied at what the country looks like in all its political division now. In there day nearly everyone worked for the greater good, living with rationing, growing victory gardens, etc. But not all. I will provide below a link to a story of an 82 year old woman attacking people of color because they voted for Trump. At 82 that has her born in 1942. Her youth was probably not one of great ease as she was born at the early part of WWII and I would bet her mother struggled in those days.

Sadly in some parts of the country those you would think have a more conservative mind set do not no matter what the age is. By the same token I recently met a young man in his mid twenties who is a very self reliant young man a nice breath of fresh air. He was looking to buy a vehicle I owned but was not running. We talked at length and I learned that once he left high school he knew he would need a CDL and went and got it on his own dime. When the power company was hiring he applied and got the job, in part because he had a CDL. He is very good with his hands and very knowledgeable about vehicles. In fact his work vehicle he bought not running but with a Cummins Diesel and got it running and made some modifications to it. Even found a used camper for the back bed which he is working on making it the way he wants it. Definitely not what we would think of a millineal snowflake type. He actually reminded me some of myself in my younger years, not afraid of anything and will to try on almost every thing.

I think a lot of what turned this election in Trumps favor had more to do with economic more than anything else. It takes a blind person to not see we are worse off economically now than we were in 2020. I also suspect many in 2020 did not vote assuming Trump was a shoe in against the likes of Biden so this time more people voted so as to make stealing the election much harder to do. I did see in several states they had the highest vote turn out in decades.

There is an old saying I think is as valid today as it was when coined, people vote their wallets. I am guessing that had a lot to do with how this election turned out. Not saying Prayer was not involved because I believe it was but since we are pretty much not the Christian nation of say a century ago the fact that voter tallies are some of the highest in recent history has more to do with peoples lives and livelihoods than anything else. Something brought a lot of people out to vote this time more than in recent past elections.

It Was Not Just the Red States — President Trump Made Great Gains in Deep-Blue Illinois

The reality of a Donald Trump presidency has settled in across the United States as the undeniable red wave has washed across the media landscape.

The news is only getting worse as people analyze the data coming out. Certainly, an electoral college victory of over 300, the popular vote, and both houses of Congress should be mandated enough for Trump.

More interesting was the shift in the blue states. Trump increased his Illinois percentage by 5 points from 40% to 45% between 2020 and 2024.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Trump increased his support in Chicago by 10 points between 2016 and 2024. The percentage is still majority Democrat. However, we’ve seen how single-digit support from African Americans to above 20% can impact a presidential race!

Wasn't the vote count a lot higher in 2020? Discounting fraudulent votes... didn't Trump even have more votes in 2020?
Yes, he had a recorded 74.22 million votes in 2020 and so far in 2024 they have recorded 71.84 million votes for him.

Interestingly, Harris has so far received a recorded 68.11 million votes, roughly on par with Joe Biden's 2020 total before the mysterious appearance of another 15 million votes in the middle of the night suddenly pushed his total to 81.28 million votes ... a figure so ridiculously high (it was almost 10 million votes higher than Barack Obama's record-setting 74 million in 2008) that nobody should have believed it.

Yes it was in the neighborhood that after midnight Biden suddenly got an addition 80 million votes. And yet the official narrative that slipped out is that this election may the highest participation in decades. Makes you wonder if the vote tally this time for both candidates is less than the 80 million Biden got in the dark of night how that could happen.

Here, it was right to abortion, LGBTGABCXYZ rights, right to mutilate (FGM and transgender), "from the river to the sea," student loans, environment, etc. Gov. Walz is extremely popular here, but VP Harris and he only got a little more than half the Minnesota votes.

They're already tugging.

Got a text re: getting President Trump's immunity taken away (and of course wanting $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to help with the effort)
Yet another blocked phone number added to my list . . . wonder if there's a max number I can block

Republicans Have Won Enough Seats to Keep Control of the House

On Monday evening, 7:13pm EST, Decision Desk HQ projected that Republicans will retain control of the House of Representatives as a result of the 2024 elections. Republicans also seized control of the Senate last Tuesday, thanks to Sen-elect Bernie Moreno's win in Ohio after he unseated Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.

Republicans were able to clinch the majority thanks to Republican Rep. Juan Ciscomani winning reelection in Arizona's 6th Congressional District. Earlier on Monday, Decision Desk HQ also called the race for Republican Rep.-elect Gabe Evans, who managed to flip Colorado's 8th Congressional District, a new swing state district.

As he gave his victory speech on early Wednesday morning, President-elect Donald Trump referenced their optimism about their chances to retain control in the chamber. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who also received a shoutout from Trump, was among those present on the stage. Trump has also made news this week for selecting sitting House Republicans to serve in his administration, including House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL).

This is good news. I saw somewhere where it appears at least 5 House seats were won most likely by fraud (by demonrats)... don't remember where I saw that, but I suspect that that is a conservative number. Kari Lake almost assuredly has lost by fraud unless she can get some quick legal help and there is enough evidence to overturn those results.

I was wondering if the Demonrats were going to be able to manage to steal the House...

Even so, Deep Staters will have a majority in both Houses. We'll see how things go.
