U.S. Begins Construction on Temporary Pier to Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

At least aid won't have to go through Rafah and terrorist hands, and what is sent in can far more easily be controlled and distributed properly.

U.S. Begins Construction on Temporary Pier to Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

April 25, 2024 By Joseph Clark, DOD News

"U.S. military personnel have begun construction of a temporary pier off the coast of Gaza to deliver critical humanitarian assistance, senior defense and Biden administration officials said today.
Construction of the pier is expected to be completed in early May. Once completed, it will initially facilitate the delivery of an estimated 90 truckloads of international aid into Gaza and scale to up to 150 truckloads once fully operational."

"Soldiers from the Army's 7th Transportation Brigade at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, and sailors from Naval Beach Group 1 at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California, were tapped to deploy the Defense Department's Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore capability, or JLOTS."

"Officials underscored today that no U.S. boots will be on the ground in Gaza as part of the operation.
The U.S. has coordinated with the Israeli Defense Force to provide force protection for U.S. personnel operating at sea. The U.S. has also coordinated with an IDF engineering unit to receive the pier on the shore in Gaza once the construction at sea is complete.
"The effort to deliver humanitarian assistance from the sea is fully supported by the Israeli Defense Force with whom we have been and will continue to work very closely [with] — from fixing the JLOTS pier to the shore to providing force protection," a senior defense official said. "This effort is fully integrated with the IDF."
The official added that the U.S. is also bringing "significant force protection as a prudent measure" and will continue to closely monitor the security environment to ensure the safety of U.S. forces."

Dear God, please watch over, protect, and bless the U.S. and Israeli troops. In Jesus' Name

Any guesses on whether the muslim world is financing any of this? Any other guesses on whether the non-muslim world/nations wanted to take the lead to build the pier? If it wasn't for the USA the entire world would kill off many people groups, religions, political ideology supporters, etc., etc........and yet, a lot of the world has no problem with our demise and others seek to help with it. Unreal.

People wouldn't be suffering, starving, etc. if Hamas would stop terroristic activities, including the attack on October 7th, and surrender
People wouldn't be suffering, starving, etc. if Hamas, PA,etc. didn't steal/divert aid for civilians to terrorists/combatants

US Military Says Gaza Strip Pier Project is Completed, Aid to Soon Flow as Israel-Hamas War Rages On

"In this image provided by the U.S. Army, soldiers assigned to the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) and sailors attached to the MV Roy P. Benavidez assemble the Roll-On, Roll-Off Distribution Facility (RRDF), or floating pier, off the shore of Gaza in the Mediterranean Sea on April 26, 2024. The pier is part of the Army's Joint Logistics Over The Shore (JLOTS) system which provides critical bridging and water access capabilities. (U.S.

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military finished installing a floating pier for the Gaza Strip on Thursday, with officials poised to begin ferrying badly needed humanitarian aid into the enclave besieged over seven months of intense fighting in the Israel-Hamas war.
The final, overnight construction sets up a complicated delivery process more than two months after U.S. President Joe Biden ordered it to help Palestinians facing starvation as food and other supplies fail to make it in as Israel recently seized the key Rafah border crossing in its push on that southern city on the Egyptian border.
Fraught with logistical, weather and security challenges, the maritime route is designed to bolster the amount of aid getting into the Gaza Strip, but it is not considered a substitute for far cheaper land-based deliveries that aid agencies say are much more sustainable. The boatloads of aid will be deposited at a port facility built by the Israelis just southwest of Gaza City and then distributed by aid groups."

Good photos in the article, and a diagram of how the aid is brought in and distributed.
The Mediterranean is beautiful.

US military starts delivering aid to Gaza through floating pier. Here’s what we know

By Colin McCullough, Jessie Yeung, Nadeen Ebrahim, and Lucas Lilieholm, CNN
Updated 7:03 AM EDT, Sat May 18, 2024

CNN "Trucks carrying humanitarian aid into Gaza have begun moving ashore after arriving through the floating pier built by the US military, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The pier was anchored to a beach in Gaza on Thursday and will be used to funnel aid from various countries into the besieged strip, with most border crossings to the enclave closed and a catastrophic humanitarian disaster unfolding inside.
No US troops went ashore in Gaza, according to CENTCOM.
The goal is to get about 500 tons of humanitarian assistance into Gaza through the pier daily, according to Adm. Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM. That means about 90 trucks worth of aid a day, and the goal is to build up to 150 trucks a day.
Over 300 pallets of humanitarian aid were delivered to Gaza through a new floating pier installed by the US military, according to a statement from Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday.
On Friday, the UN humanitarian agency, OCHA, said Gaza was facing a “dire” food situation with barely more than 300 aid trucks entering the strip since Israel began its offensive in Rafah.
The maritime corridor is coming at a critical moment – with the Rafah border crossing to Gaza having been closed for more than a week, preventing aid from getting through. That crossing was the only one between Gaza and Egypt – with all other border points in the strip controlled by Israel."

"The UN’s World Food Programme will be responsible for receiving and distributing the aid in Gaza."

"Most land crossings into Gaza remain either shut or congested due to lengthy inspections by Israel. That has led the US and other countries to start air-dropping aid into Gaza, which human rights organizations have criticized as insufficient.
The UN has warned of famine setting in in parts of Gaza, calling on Israel to open more land crossings for aid. USAID Administrator Samantha Power, the top US humanitarian official, has also assessed it is “credible” that famine is already occurring in parts of Gaza."

From the article: "The boatloads of aid will be deposited at a port facility built by the Israelis just southwest of Gaza City and then distributed by aid groups."

Looks like the UN is in charge of the aid groups. So it seems that the US is once again supplying Hamas :headbang:
Guess who’s going to pay for this bright idea of the pier? Yep, Joe has done it again. WORST PRESIDENT EVER!

Pentagon Does 'Not Believe' Aid to Temporary Pier Is Reaching Residents of Gaza

Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder faced questions about the usefulness of the U.S.-built temporary humanitarian pier — with a $300+ million price tag for American taxpayers — and struggled to explain what has been accomplished in the days since the pier's construction was completed. Notably, the Pentagon does "not believe" any of the hundreds of tons of aid delivered so far has made it to those for whom it's intended.

The natural question: if 569 metric tons of aid have been delivered via the pier so far, how much of that has made it to those in need (read: ideally not Hamas terrorists who are known to fight and operate in plainclothes) inside Gaza? Ryder, again, was reticent to say.

"As it relates to the aid deliveries by the NGOs that are supporting this, I'd really have to refer you to USAID," Ryder answered to one such question about how much aid had made it from the pier into the hands of Gaza's residents. "You'd have to check with the World Food Programme," he replied to another attempt to get an answer. NGOs "have begun to put some of that aid into warehouses for onward distribution," he said as the badgering continued.

Finally, when pressed again as to whether he thought any of the 569 metric tons of aid delivered over the pier had been received by those for whom it is intended, he admitted "as of today, I do not believe so."

It'll be the Israeli Soldiers dying and "Palestinian" people suffering, while the terrorists get strong.

No good deed goes unpunished

Dear God, please fix this

  :amen: :amen: :thankyou: :thankyou:

PS: For what it's worth, the US built this, and can also dismantle it :tap:

:explode: [we really, really need a NUKE or EXPLOSION emoji]

PPS: Maybe the Palestinians will do something out of desperation . . .

Nearly 70% of Gaza aid from US-built pier stolen

No aid was delivered to the UN warehouse from the floating pier on Sunday and Monday.

Close to three-fourths of the humanitarian aid transported from a new $320 million floating pier built by the U.S. military off the Gaza coast was stolen on Saturday en route to a U.N. warehouse, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

Eleven trucks “were cleaned out by Palestinians” on the journey to the World Food Programme warehouse in Deir El Balah in the central Strip, with only five truckloads making it to the destination.

“They’ve not seen trucks for a while,” a U.N. official told Reuters. “They just basically mounted on the trucks and helped themselves to some of the food parcels.”

Wouldn't it be shocking if the Biden admin acknowledged that Israel has been telling the world that Hamas is unwilling to allow aid to their own citizens??

And, we know that if it falls in UN hands, nobody is really better off since they run shield for Hamas.

But it gets worse. This out-of-control supply chain is begging for smuggling in of illegal items that the terrorists demand.

From the above article:

"The United Nations said that 10 truckloads of food aid from the pier arrived at the warehouse on Friday, its first day of operation. It was transported by U.N. contractors.
“We need to make sure that the necessary security and logistical arrangements are in place before we proceed,” said the U.N. official."

The UN knows security is necessary in these kinds of situations.
I smell a rat 🐀 :tap:

"According to Israeli estimates, Hamas has been stealing up to 60% of the aid entering the Gaza Strip, and a Channel 12 report last week revealed that the terrorist organization has made at least $500 million in profit off humanitarian aid since the start of the war on Oct. 7."

There's only one answer to all of this: Hamas must be entirely, completely, thoroughly destroyed ... down to the very last individual. Nothing else will suffice. Nothing else will solve the problem. Nothing else will bring some semblance of peace to this region. (At least not until Jesus Christ returns and plants His feet on the Mount of Olives ... which will bring permanent peace.)

Agree 100%!

What did they actually think was gonna happen when Joe’s great idea aka “stab American taxpayers in the back” came to be? I just can’t understand how he can keep spending taxpayers’ money like he has a blank check! Practically none of the aid was getting to those it was earmarked for pre- pier. Their leaders don’t even live there! Right after 10/7, The Times of Israel reported that after “the start of Hamas’s brutal attack against Israel on October 7, a video began circulating of the terror group’s leader Ismail Haniyeh in his elegant office in the Qatari capital Doha, watching the bloody onslaught unfold on Al Jazeera and “prostrating in gratitude” with a group of other Hamas officials for the killing of over 1,300 Israelis, among them at least 1,000 civilians.” Furthermore. this same article reported that “Senior Hamas figures, including Haniyeh, would levy a 20 percent tax on all of the trade passing through the tunnels, according to a 2014 report in Ynet, an Israeli news site.”

Yet another Jewish news source, I24, reported around the same time that “ Some of the Hamas executives are also known to live in Istanbul. Like many other countries across the Middle East, Turkey has observed strong popular reaction condemning Israel in its war against Hamas.

MSN (about 6 months ago) reported that “ While their people languish in poverty and are treated as human shields, the leaders of Hamas live billionaire lifestyles.
The terror group’s three top leaders alone are worth a staggering $11 billion between them and enjoy a life of luxury in the sanctuary of the emirate of Qatar.”

So I don’t see where the disconnect comes in especially after Joe’s last great idea of assisting in funding this pier comes into play.___ if nothing else, maybe this will get a few more Dems to turn around and vote for the only candidate that cares about America,President Trump.

I have to confess that when I see his name, or see something else that our president has done in his own self interest or to further tear down our country, not to mention the shame he keeps heaping upon “Christianity” as he claims to be Catholic, I am reminded that I need to be praying for him because he is definitely lost. So, I have to work, with the help of the Holy Spirit to pray that he and those who are like him, choose to accept Jesus as Savior, and that they repent, and listen as the Holy Spirit works to bring them to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Their fate, if they choose not to accept Jesus:

Matthew 11:21-24 “ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you! And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be thrown down to Hades! For if the miracles done among you had been done in Sodom, it would have continued to this day. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for the region of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you!”

Luke 12:47-48 “ That servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or do what his master asked will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know his master’s will and did things worthy of punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.”

Romans 2:5-6, 8-9, 16 “But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed! He will reward each one according to his works: … wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness. There will be affliction and distress on everyone who does evil, on the Jew first and also the Greek. … on the day when God will judge the secrets of human hearts, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.”

The Great White Throne Judgment reminds us that we have work to finish.

The Great White Throne Judgment reminds us that God is just.

Looking at the world today, we may be tempted to doubt God’s justice. Children are aborted daily, people are enslaved and trafficked, the wealthy commonly commit crimes and go unpunished, while the poor suffer. Those we’ve elected (or not) continue to turn our country into a red hot mess- morality isn’t in style. It’s now all about “self.” Even though the world is often unfair today, God will eventually make all things right.
Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows.” God will not be mocked. People will be judged for their evil works.”

The Great White Throne Judgement reminds us that we are forgiven.

It is often hard for people to accept Christ’s teaching about loving and blessing our enemies (Matt 5:44). Jesus’ teaching seems to go against our natural sense of right and wrong—those who hurt us should pay, and at times, we should participate in dishing out the payment. However, when we understand that God has reserved vengeance for himself, and this frees us to love those who hurt us, while trusting that God will bring justice in his time.

Romans 12:19-21 “ Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

The Great White Throne Judgement reminds us that our work isn’t finished.

2 Peter 3:9 “ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

Another great reminder that even the best of us continues to sin. We sin every day and will continue to do so until we are with the Lord. The difference between us and the nonbelievers - we are forgiven! And we continue to study and read God’s Word to become less like us and more like Him.
