Trump Plans to Accept Plane from Qatar

The plane would get stripped down to the shell and then all the stuff would start going into it that would turn it into a Presidential aircraft. The planes I flew on during my Air Force career got fully stripped down and rebuilt on a regular basis, including get x-rayed to look for cracks and whatnot in the fuselage.

a trojan horse won't be an issue. The idea of needing a plane from another country because we're having trouble producing one is a bit humbling.
That’s good to know

Nice touch here TT :)

You bring up a good point @Margery. Why would the DOD accept a plane built by a foreign nation be something Trump flies around in intimately. Bugs? Tracking? Other tech? Wow. It is rumored that Trump moved the embassy from Telaviv to Jerusalem in part due to suspected spy utility built within its framework. Not sure about that. But to me it looks like a special kind of stupid to be riding around in a potential flying coffin. Wow. Decisions like this are not proportionate with a good chess player. Its insane...lol. Its like as if Trump has been drinking. :(
I thought of the same thing. I bet there is cameras, listening devices of what is being said on the plane. I am not trusting of this, and I am surprised Trump is? It sounds like it could be a setup for evil. Trump is against alcohol his deceased brother was an alcoholic.

Although i struggle with this a lot lol, I would like at this time to yield to this brother's perspective

I respect Andy's sense of ways in which a Trump era works.

For Andy -- I bold this because i know Andy does not like long posts and i am trying here to super compliment his valor in political opinion
Yes thank you Andy for your input. 🏆

One thing that has made things extremely more complicated for me while at the same time extremely more simplistic is how it would seem God is using Providence today. Brother and sister, as I reflect upon my decades in the church and how God so used them in my life, and seemingly would greatly support systems I would see as totally whacked and not worthy of God's attention (much less his authentic involvement in the use thereof). And this is what makes things really difficult for me to consider. Can God use His Providence (perhaps even included within the context and content of His word) in ways that we see transcend simple operating church procedures God has laid out as He will operate within the confines thereof? In other words, I look at scripture and expect God to operate a certain way in the body of Christ. Sure there are going to be things that are beyond us, a given. But it seems to me that God hath honored complete systamatics within the church that to me are as much an afront to Him as we would see Catholics doctrine. Yet, He seems to often use it as a way of submission even unto without being corrided by it ourselves...yet somehow to remain in check by certain systematics. And although I know God transcends, its almost like, to me, God endorsing extremely horrifically bad theology in the church. One way this could make sense is His sovereign right to Providence. How to use Providence in relation to His world. That is something we don't really get to have an opinion about. And something I am just beginning to consider regarding Him. Because otherwise I feel like I am left with a God that honors in huge ways Lordship Salvation. And we know here He does not. That is what I came out from. But I can say that if God used a church like that to help me even (as God would transcend) that perhaps the age of God using things that are genuinely bad for our good in Providence somewhat translates perhaps into a testament to our of Providence having a special place in God's heart today toward us).

So in the dark ages I am sure there are times God used Catholicism in people's lives to help them understand God. Because for the most part it was predominant. And just about the only or main game in town. So what would I say then? That God honors the catholic doctrines? Far from it. But that His use of them that which otherwise in His TRANSCENDANCE can help a true believer. But you see the problem, right? When He uses that over and over and over again all along the difficult course of one's life, it becomes difficult to diffuse His truth from His good use of that which is not truth. A very difficult place to discern from. Does anyone else know what I am talking about? Or does this just sound like totally martian? lol.

. . . . .

My comment about Alcohol was just in gest. Metaphor for the man is drunk. But as I noted to Andy, and expand upon here, I believe there is some robust features imbedded now within the fabric of God's Providence. Something hard to accept. That God might use the things that are not in this world to perhaps even shame aspects of our own sensibilities about end time theology. And we would have to recognize His right if so, amen. And if so, then part of that might be that instead of "the sky is falling" quite the opposite. "No it is not!!!" And I don't think we sit well with that. AT least I don't...lol. I am much better off if the sky is falling. Otherwise it means I have to grow up...and think a bit more about things. Its so much more fun to just have a can a spray paint and do end time graffiti everywhere. Seems to be the bread of butter for evangelicalism. And as snarky as that may sound, I am staring to develop an healthier and more profound respect of evangelical end times views. Not because I believe they are accurate. But that God transcends in how he uses any of us. And that is shock and awe in my system. Like an earthquake that somehow found its way into the apartment and ran foughshad all over the place. As I scratch my head and pick up what looks like a porcelain plate or part of the toilet. Still trying to make that out. Blessings.

The President can accept a gift, large or small. Gifts are exchanged between country's leaders all the time. But I don't think the recipient can claim the gift as their own, I think it becomes the property of the US govmint... so I don't know about Trump being being able to park it at his Presidential library...

If it gets designated a historical artifact, particularly of his Presidency, maybe it could be.

I hope there is nothing wrong with the plane mechanically. I don't know that Qatar can be trusted!
What has stopped me in my tracks on this one is how much enterprise Qatar and the USA are involved in. It's not like the DOD is not radically familiar with that country. In ways it would seem like a gift from a friend you helped refinance their home, built their business from scratch with, and orchastrated much of the schooling for the kids. It seems like our ties are extremely active with Qatar. And this is the real world picture. While the one the left paints is doubt, fear, angst, bad vibes, and any other gift of good cheer that party seems to be about. I like how Buzz on X put it...

I’m going to try one last time. The Qatar B-747 was built in the US by Boeing. They are offering a newer 747 to replace one of the two current AF-1s that have been flying for 40 years. Which are tired and need to be replaced. The wing based at Andrews has also purchased aircraft from other countries in the past which are currently flying our VP and senior government officials. This is NOT new.Qatar is offering the jet to the US military, not Donald Trump. The DOD contractor is based in the US, in fact my dad (a retired Air Force general) used to work for them. They are, not unironically, also working to upgrade the FAA technology as we speak. You know, Newark and elsewhere. They will get the aircraft and perform all of the security and the installation of the systems that AF-1 requires to safely move our president around the world. Not the Qatari’s. And you and I will pay for that but not the $400 million the 747 would normally cost. I could tell you exactly what is required to modify the AF-1 for safe flight but that is Top Secret and I’d have to kill you. This AF-1 will serve the sitting president, whether they be Republican or Democrat until Boeing gets their **** together to complete the new, upcoming improved 747s that started under Obama, was renegotiated under Trump, and was completely ignored by the Biden administration. It’s looking like 2029 to 2030 for delivery at the soonest. I love X but sometimes the “sky is falling” conspiracy crap grows tiresome. A little knowledge goes a long way. Having flown on the current AF-1s 100 hundred times, I have intimate knowledge.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin: Plane from Qatar ‘Has Been in Negotiations’ Under Biden AdminIstration

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) pointed out that talks regarding Qatar giving the United States a plane to temporarily replace Air Force One began under the Biden administration.

In an interview on CNN, Mullin pointed out that the U.S. needed a temporary replacement for Air Force One since President Donald Trump was “flying around on a 40-year-old plane.”

“Here’s what’s interesting to me, what the media isn’t telling you — what no one’s talking to you about, is the same 747 has been in negotiations for a year,” Mullin said. “The Biden administration is the one that started these conversations. It didn’t start underneath the Trump administration. Why? Because we need a back-up for Air Force One.”

“The President of the United States is flying around on a 40-year-old plane, and there is no back-up for it,” Mullin continued. “The back-up we had, the air frame started having structural issues. No one’s discussing that part.”

This bit of history changes the optics on the propaganda message of "Qatar giving Trump a 747".

Because its Trump, what will come with him is things that even those that like a lot of his policies will have issues with. And if we don't, we probably ought to rethink that (like the Trump Bible, his shift on abortion, his cuddling like a teddy bear of Mark Carny etc.). Although in each of those cases, I can see reasons for his leanings that make sense on other levels. This plane issue for me got my goat in the beginning because as a Trump whisperer I know I have to be hard on him. Lest I drink the Trump laden gummy bear coolaide and empty my mind and soul. So for me there is almost a favor to doubt Trump in my autopilot thought sequence.

But this article right here suggests TT that TDS is suppose to be normal...lol. Because THIS one caught most the the nation off guard. Think you don't have TDS...ok...give Trump a day or two...he'll find a way to help you out with that. And as comic bookie as that sounds, I believe it is par for the course. Like Linus's dust cloud...Trump walks around with the TDS plume. If you ask me, I actually think and believe its prophetic and some form of biblical afterglow...lol. Wow did that feel good to say finally..lol. Blessings.

The “news” sure likes to meddle, leaving the truth (conveniently) out.

I'm not sure that the point of this whole thing isn't to light a fire under Boeing to get the stupid plane finished. I tmakes them look super incompetant (which, with their embrace of DEI and some of their most recent failures isn't that hard to do...) 15+ years to finish one plane, that hopefully will keep all its bolts? :tsk:
