American E-4B ‘doomsday plane’ takes to the skies as Trump weighs all-out strikes on Iran

One of America’s “doomsday planes” was spotted circling above a key Nebraska air force base on Monday — just hours before President Trump’s deadline for Iran to accept his peace deal is set to expire.

The Boeing E-4B Nightwatch — which was designed to protect national security officials and keep the government operating in a time of nuclear war — was spotted by flight trackers above the Offutt Air Force Base, home to the headquarters of the US Strategic Command.

The aircraft’s movements are regularly monitored by flight trackers during high tension moments, with a flight last year garnering attention just days before the US joined Israel in the 12-day war campaign to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The plane is heavily modified to withstand nuclear blasts, cyberattacks, electromagnetic pulses, and other disasters that could threaten the US.

The aircraft also has thermal and nuclear shielding and can communicate with anyone anywhere in the world, thanks to the 67 satellite dishes and antennas contained in its ray dome.

One of my buddies was aircrew on the E-4B. At least back when I was in the Air Force an E-4B was always flying. If it's the same now it's not really news and doesn't mean anything.

Our country leans forward in a posture of readiness so assets like the E-4B, because of its mission, is always ready to perform its mission at a moments notice (in real time).

I know interesting stuff about the E-4B, but can't share it :).
