Trump signals upcoming end to Iran conflict as US gets close to meeting objectives

Well-known
President Donald Trump signaled Friday night an upcoming end to the United States' involvement in the conflict with Iran, stating the U.S. is "very close" to meeting its objectives.

The U.S. and Israel began a weeks-long conflict against Iran late last month, which resulted in the death of former Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated by hitting U.S. bases in the Middle East and attacking Israel.

Trump said in a Truth Social post that the United States is considering winding down its involvement in the regional conflict because the U.S. has completely degraded Iran's "Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them."

The president also noted that the U.S. has destroyed Iran's Defense Industrial Base, eliminated its Navy and Air Force, prevented it from getting nuclear capabilities and is protecting U.S. allies in the region, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Hope he doesn't quit before the job is done. Iran is still launching missiles and drones...
I think its impossible to remove them all. They have had decades to hide them amongst civilian populations, mountains, and wherever else they can find. However, destroying all the production and components plants/factories for their missiles and drones will set them back many years.

With intel from satellites and other sources, we should eventually be able to locate any site that is being used. The only way they could possibly keep something hidden is not to use it nor to have much activity in the area they're trying to keep secret.

A purpose of our intelligence apparatus is to learn where everything is and understand capabilities before we go to war, but clearly in the case of Iran there has been shortfalls in intel. Their intermediate range missiles is just one example... unless we knew they existed but didn't say anything about it. With 20,000 or more locations of interest for targeting, I guess missing a hundred or thereabouts wouldn't be indicative of poor intelligence collections.

I think the overall intelligence has been great. I agree they likely have many hidden sites which haven’t had activity around it for a long time, this making it easy for satellites or any humit intell to miss. Also, all their missiles can be launched from mobile launchers which can also be hidden away.

This as you know is not like previous wars, fought on a battlefield. Nor, does Iran limit where they store weapons to military bases.

Iran in size, is approx 2.5 times larger than Texas. The fact that we have known about and hit over 8000 targets shows just how good our combined intelligence gathering with IDF has been effective. However, its not full proof.
