I like LA Marzulli's famous line "when we go up, they show up". He makes a good case for the demonic realm to show up as aliens. With their usual lies. Probably explaining they had to remove those epic warts on global progress, the ever pesky Christians.
It seems plausible. But even if the "aliens" don't arrive on centre stage, I suspect the major theme of the day will be CHAOS!!! Financial and social chaos. With war in the immediate near future.
First hours:
Accidents will happen - cars, planes etc. A lot of injured people, not enough first responders. Police, ambulance and hospitals will have a VERY hard time in the first hours after the Rapture. Christians do a lot of difficult jobs -- nursing, first responders, police, armed forces and other things that benefit society. Disproportionately so.
At least this will be the case in countries with a lot of Christians.
Countries that aren't high in numbers of Christian citizens, will likely see an opportunity for attack. They WON'T be in chaos.
So war will erupt. Quite quickly I expect. Countries behave like people, and countries that didn't lose a lot of people will want to loot and pillage their suddenly weakened enemies that held them in check in the past.
Financial and Social chaos:
Christians pay their taxes, and behave themselves for the most part.
So I expect financial collapse will be imminent, because the tax payers are gone in those predominately Christian countries.
That may trigger a global financial meltdown because the countries with more Christians usually are the richer nations. Again, war will result because nations like China who owe huge amounts to America for example will want to clear the balance sheet via war.
The crime rate goes up again in the nations with more Christian populations, because the Christians are gone, and the percentage of bad people just went way up. The criminal element along with the opportunistic types will engage in looting and whatever they've always wanted to do, just like every inner city in a riot situation.
When the dust settles and the family and friends of Christians realize what happened, I expect 2 responses from them- The bulk will likely harden against God further, and consciously decide to believe the lie (whether aliens or other explanations). The few will get saved over the next little while. All of them will be in fight or flight mode due to the threat of war, criminal gangs etc. There won't be a lot of time for reflection.
I think what Jesus said about the narrow way, few there be who find it, remains true no matter which side of the rapture we look at.
The govts of the nations that lost more of their citizens to the Rapture will need to expropriate property from those gone in the Rapture in lieu of tax income that they realize won't come their way anymore. This will free up homes and property to be used to reward anyone the govt wants. Generally it won't be the nice new Christians who benefit. Nor will the property automatically go to the families left behind. They might have to go thru hoops to claim it under existing wills that will require time and money to prove. Meanwhile the govt will hang on tight. War measures acts will be enacted because of the wars erupting, and in the chaos normal legal procedure and citizens rights are suspended.
Within the first few weeks:
Power will shift from predominately Christian nations like America back to Europe where a lot of money and power still sit and Christianity has almost died out. This will do what assassinating Trump could never do. Regardless of who is president of the States, power will shift towards Western Europe while Russia and China still flex their muscles and the Muslims engage in a looting spree around the globe.
War, all over will be the feature of the immediate post Rapture world as countries find their equilibrium again. Nature (and power) abhor a vacuum so it will be rough and bumpy.
Even if we see some of the 10 kings rising, they won't come into play much until that chaotic period dies down a bit. Then the AC rises within their midst.
