Trump trolls Trudeau by promising Canucks he’ll lower taxes if Canada becomes ‘51st state’....

President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday trolled Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by promising to cut Canucks’ taxes if they agree to become “our 51st state,’’ while urging them to draft NHL great Wayne Gretzky to lead the country.

“I just left Wayne Gretzky, ‘The Great One’ as he is known in Ice Hockey circles,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“I said, ‘Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as the Governor of Canada – You would win easily, you wouldn’t even have to campaign,’” the president-elect said.

Quebec would have us all speaking French if we admitted them into the Union. They're a feisty bunch.

What's one more language in Minnesota? Actually, French is very useful these days to communicate with immigrants/migrants/jihadis from Africa and the Caribbean. And there's a lot of old historical stuff here in French (explorers, Catholic church, and early European settlers). And the French Canadians, who come to visit, especially for medical.

About all I can do in French is order food and get my face slapped
NO escargot :tap:

Trudeau Insists Canada Not Becoming 51st State, Musk Claps Back: ‘Girl, You’re Not the Governor Anymore’

Elon Musk took yet another jab at Justin Trudeau after the disgraced Canadian Prime Minister tried to take a final stand against President-elect Donald Trump's rhetoric suggesting the United States could absorb the Great White North.

Trump joked, "If Canada can't survive without ripping off the US to the tune of $100 billion a year, then maybe Canada should become the 51st state, and Trudeau could become its governor."

Since that point, the 47th President has consistently chided Trudeau on social media. And Justin felt the need to put his foot down.
"There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States," Trudeau posted on X.

Musk, who has been tapped alongside former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), took a late-night/early-morning swipe at Trudeau over the comments.
"Girl, you’re not the governor of Canada anymore, so (it) doesn’t matter what you say," he fired back.

Trump: Trudeau is right, I do want Canada to be 51st state

President Trump said Sunday he is serious about making Canada the nation’s 51st state.

In a pre-Super Bowl interview on Fox, Mr. Trump said that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was telling the truth when he told business officials that his talk of making Canada the 51st state is “a real thing.”

“Yes, it is,” Mr. Trump said. “I think Canada would be much better off being a 51st state because we lose $200 billion a year with Canada and I am not going to let that happen.”

If I was an American..... I could pack a nice revolver in my purse! (note to self, shoulda got a bigger purse Margery!!!!)

I could vote in your elections.

I wouldn't have Trudeau jacking up the prices 25% to retaliate against America so my makeup, skin care, clothes, both my purses, grits(new favourite gluten free hot porridge), gluten free cereal and gluten free Johnsonville sausages wouldn't cost 25% more with a Canadian dollar that is plummeting like a stone in value.

I'm not bitter---- just hopeful. Wasn't that a slogan of Obama's? Hope and Change! Hate to quote him but -I vote yes to a little --hope and change. TRUMP VERSION!!! 😁

President Trump is getting a little lot too big for his britches. It's not very nice to go around saying he wants to take over allied/friendly countries and territories. Not very nice to threaten force if he can't buy or annex what he wants. What about the people living there, who have a right to their own sovereign nations? We already know what it's like when other people don't respect our country and borders. I wouldn't like it at all if Trudeau threatened to make the U.S. Canada's 14th Province/Territory, and would be thinking, "Who does he think he is, anyway?"

  :amen: :amen: :thankyou: :thankyou:

May be so. But a lot of Canadians I know are on board with the idea, especially those out West. As for me, I think I've already folded with my feet. I'm here and undergoing the process for full citizenship.

I'm glad you're here.

My concern is for the people, who would involuntarily subsumed into the US, against their wishes.

Yes and right now there are a lot of them that are concerned that this could happen. Trudeau has jumped on this to improve his popularity rating which is sitting at dumpster fire levels. I've heard a lot of harumphing about it when I get out and about with people around me other than me and my family. CBC, ever the little lap dog for the left is yapping about it incessantly on the news.

Fuming Canadians Nix U.S. Vacations to Protest President Donald Trump’s Tariffs

Montreal resident Carlo Tarini said his family decided to nix their trip to New York City and instead go to the Bahamas. Trump’s threat to impose 25-percent tariffs on Canadian imports, a move that sent the Canadian dollar tumbling, was the impetus for their choice, per the Post.

“We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore,” he said, adding the family made the decision and was not going to budge.

The cruise industry may also suffer due to Canadians choosing not to vacation out of ports such as Los Angeles, Houston, or Miami, the Associated Press (AP) suggested on Friday.

After the USA and Canada merge, there won't be any tariffs between them.
