I think it is simply two powerful self-made public figures with huge egos, each used to getting their own way, and one of whom is on the autism spectrum. Nothing more than that.
It may be theater for us, but I do not believe it is some cosmic plan. Nevertheless, there is no doubt in my mind that their actions are playing into the end-times scenario that God controls. So we don't need to worry about it. Our focus should be on doing what it is God has called us to do at this time in history. Corporately, that is to spread the gospel to everyone on this planet. (And we can each do a small part of that and support others whose called ministry it is.) Individually, it is to do what God has laid on your heart to do.
As the dust clears it would seem Elon is calming down. I would say you are accurate pastor. A time where its still hurts Elon to lose tax credits even though he knew things would go that way. It hurts more to see one's bottom line dissolve a bit. One conservative news clip from alt right media is a vintage YouTube channel I have liked for almost a decade. One of the few, for a time, I actually gave through patrion.
One of the original concerns though I had with this channel is the tendency to ramble and be all over the place (something some in the forum might have thought I would be right at home with...lol...but nope...lol...I think very exacting flow in research...at least in terms as how I might approach--granted my delivery could always use improvement, amen). But now this channel, in the notes section, provides a timestamp table of contents for all his videos now. Which helps get a quick take on the news covered in that video. This video is 17 minutes long. But does echo this recent fall out between Trump and Musk as nothing more than a spat. Although, as the researcher he is, of course there is a bonus to that sentiment in this video capture.

As for focus on the gospel, amen Although I like too your understanding that sociopolitical trends can well play into how end time-esque like vibes along the way might develop or fit into some larger streaming trajectory. As for me, pitstop moments like this can provide opportunity to consider other forms of socio-political architecture. And although on some levels it would certainly qualify as distraction to an extent, amen, it can provide reality checks along the way to (sometimes in things not so easily considered). As well as opportunities for discussion consideration on areas of forum disagreement.

Having said that, yeah, pastor I would have to agree that we can tend to see too much into things. A great sober reminder. As Elon on the autism spectrum, mine would be on the Outer Limits spectrum...lol. So there is all kinds and manner of need for drop of the hat reel-ins, amen. What charms my heart about the whole thing would actually be reasons socio-political play likely have 0 place in this particular instance would be the following: The awesome beauty inherent in the organic moment. That although we tend to see so much how this or that links together, what is a central ingredient seemingly in end time structure is: Regardlss how we might think things look and fit this puzzle piece or that puzzle piece, in God's awesome creation of truly granting mankind free will and yet He lose no sleep over where all that could go, the beauty of people being people and things happening truly by the happenstance of the human heart is still so very much alive (even a general theme) in a day and age where our hearts are otherwise gravitating toward scripting scenarios to fit a thesis. Just the simple beauty of that in our day, truly does echo through even His fallen creation, the great I AMness in Him. A living testimony very much alive and paraded even as much as the shaping of developments along the way. A precious quality of our creator. Some how equalizes them both as 3rd graders fighting for the eraser and chalk board. If its real, to me its kind of adorable. I would rather have this in the real than nice speak with a death syrup vaccine while the nurses just smile.
