Palisades fire: Newsom declares state of emergency, thousands evacuated

LOS ANGELES - Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency on Tuesday as the Pacific Palisades fire continued to grow, burning over 1,260 acres and forcing evacuations of tens of thousands of residents. During a visit to the impacted area, Newsom pledged the state’s support for firefighters and local communities battling the blaze.

"This is a highly dangerous windstorm creating extreme fire risk, and we’re not out of the woods," Newsom said. He thanked first responders for their rapid response and urged residents to follow evacuation orders.

How dangerous winds are impacting the fire
The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings for much of Southern California, predicting winds up to 100 mph in Los Angeles County through Thursday. These life-threatening conditions have made firefighting efforts more challenging.

Wonder if maybe a few of those migrants, illegal immigrants, and refugees would be willing to donate some shovel, rake, and fire flapper work?

Please join us as we pray in Jesus' name that He would rebuke the wind and end these devastating fires.

Massive fire breaks out in Sylmar, marking 3rd LA County fire forcing evacuations

A third fire requiring Los Angeles County residents to evacuate their homes broke out on January 7 – this time in Sylmar.

The "Hurst fire" in Sylmar was first reported a little before 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday night. At last check, the fire had stretched to about 500 acres and officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department warn it is rapidly spreading.

Firefighters running out of water as fires tear through Los Angeles

California firefighters are running out of water as they desperately battle three rapidly growing wildfires threatening huge areas around Los Angeles — with emergency responders reporting bone-dry hydrants.

“The hydrants are down,” one firefighter said over the radio, the Los Angeles Times reported.
“Water supply just dropped,” another added.

“There’s no water in the fire hydrants,” Caruso told the LA paper.
“The firefighters are there and there’s nothing they can do — we’ve got neighborhoods burning, homes burning, and businesses burning. … It should never happen.”

Caruso said the problem stems from the reservoirs that feed the neighborhood’s hydrants.

On Truth Social Trump blasts The Governor of California for having not signed a bill for water restoration and now multiple fires are raging throughout Southern California and firefighters have run out of water because Water Hydrants have dried up due to not having enough water in the reservoirs.

(Yes Nusense stop dumping clean water into the ocean to save fish while human lives and property is in danger because of no water to put out acres of multiple fires). 😡

Donald Trump Rages at Gavin Newsom Over California Fires

In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, President-elect Donald Trump blamed California Governor Gavin Newsom for what he described as catastrophic wildfires in the state. Trump alleged that Newsom's water management and environmental conservation policies contributed to the ongoing crisis.

Why It Matters

Three major wildfires are raging across Los Angeles County, including the Palisades Fire, which has forced tens of thousands to evacuate amid dangerous, fast-moving flames. The wildfires are fueled by some of the strongest Santa Ana winds in recent memory, causing infrastructure damage and an ongoing state of emergency.

Many of the towering fires began Tuesday and were fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds, which gusted more than 70 miles per hour in some spots. The winds persisted Wednesday and made it too dangerous for aircraft to attack the fires from the sky, further hampering their efforts.

The Press and Democrats Mocked Trump Over Wildfires, Now the Receipts Loom Large

As RedState reported, parts of Los Angeles are now facing an apocalyptic series of wildfires, none of which have been contained as of this writing. To make matters worse, firefighters started running out of water early Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, is currently on a taxpayer-funded trip to Ghana to attend the inauguration of its new president. Why does the mayor of a major American city need to use her residents' money to fly to Africa for a photo-op? That's a really great question and one that she should be made to answer.

Notably, President-Elect Donald Trump repeatedly called for changes in how flammable brush and the water supply in California are managed. In return, he was mercilessly mocked by the press and Democrat politicians.

Trump’s suggestions have prompted head-scratching from experts who say his prescriptions — more raking, less water released into the ocean for environmental purposes — suggest he does not understand the science of wildfires. Critics also point out that most of California’s wildlands are federally managed.
I'm astonished by that paragraph, and it's a reminder of just how insane the press was during Trump's first stint in the White House. The suggestion that California retain more water and increase its management of forest floors "prompted head-scratching" from "experts?" Really? They were perplexed by such common-sense measures? Perhaps we've found one of the issues.
