According to AccuWeather, wind gusts reached up to 65 miles per hour in Southern California on Tuesday.

Shocking video of a ‘fire tornado’ was posted to X.

People panicked after they got stuck in traffic trying to flee the fire and abandoned their cars on Sunset Blvd.

The cars were being bulldozed to make room for emergency vehicles.

California fires updates for Sunday, Jan. 26

LOS ANGELES - As the long road to recovery continues for the thousands devastated by Los Angeles' recent wildfires, the region braces for a winter storm that could trigger land movement across Southern California.

While the rain is much-needed, it could also be destructive.

Officials said residents in the burn scar areas should prepare for mudslides and land movement, in particular, survivors in Altadena and other parts of the San Gabriel Valley– who were devastated by the Eaton Fire – and residents in the Pacific Palisades – who were hit by the Palisades Fire.

Eaton Fire nears full containment

5:20 a.m.: The latest data from Cal Fire indicates the Eaton Fire is 95% contained with 14,021 acres burned.

Palisades Fire 84% contained

5:15 a.m.: Fire crews have now reached 84% containment of the Palisades Fire that charred 23,448 acres.

Hughes Fire approaches full containment

5 a.m.: The Hughes Fire is now 90% contained with 10,425 acres burned, Cal Fire said.

The Eaton Fire

The Eaton Fire was first reported on Tuesday, Jan. 7 near Altadena and Midwick drives.

Some residents did not survive the flames and at least 7,000 structures were destroyed.

A lawsuit filed Monday claims Southern California Edison equipment sparked the Eaton Fire.

The Palisades Fire

The Palisades Fire broke out on the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 7 as parts of Southern California were hit by powerful Santa Ana winds – the strongest to hit the area in over a decade, officials said. The piercing winds not only intensified the spread of the fire, it also prevented helicopters and planes from dumping water or fire retardant onto the burning scene as it was too dangerous to fly during the first day of the massive fire.

LOS ANGELES - The first significant winter storm of the season brought Southern California some relief over the weekend in the form of showers, pushing several wildfires in the Los Angeles area closer to full containment.

About a half-inch to an inch of rain is expected around the Los Angeles area by the end of Monday, with one to two inches of rain in the mountains, though the higher elevations will pick up some snow.

But with the rain comes the threat of mudslides as the National Weather Service has placed several burn areas under a flood watch into Monday.

When I hit post for this I looked at the post after it posted.
It didn't look like what it looks like now.

Apparently after it posted and I saw it post correctly, I closed the thread and now that I look again it's not the same way it got posted earlier.
Man the crazy things that happen with glitches and auto correct and technology that just seems to do it's own thing 🤣

I've had that happen when a current story was replaced by a newer one at the link, and/or something changed at the link, and/or the story got moved and nothing replaced it.

Electronic documents and locations are ephemeral

A good illustration of why it's so important to have hard-copy Bibles, hymnals, etc.

Well, it looks fine to me and conveys the information we need. So don't worry about it. Just remember technology is waiting for our demise.
