Shots Fired At Trump Rally

I read that too
The Trump campaign asked Mayokas for additional security and it was denied.
Even after what happened on Friday the SS says that the security will remain the same for the RNC convention.

Local police officer encountered Trump rally gunman on roof prior to shooting: AP sources

A Local police officer encountered the suspected gunman at former President Donald Trump's rally Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, on a nearby roof before the shooting started — but retreated down a ladder when the gunman pointed a rifle at the officer, law enforcement officials told the Associated Press.

The AP, citing the officials, said rally attendees warned local police after noticing a male climbing to a nearby building's roof not long before shots rang out.

The outlet said one local police officer climbed to the roof and encountered suspected gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, who pointed his rifle at the officer — after which the officer retreated down the ladder and Crooks "quickly took a shot toward Trump." The AP — citing the officials, who spoke to the outlet on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation — said that's when Secret Service snipers shot the gunman.

If that police officer was worried he was going to get shot and is why he "retreated" and went back down the ladder, what made him think he would not get shot anyway, if the shooter wanted to shoot him he wouldn't have just shot him going down the ladder which had the officer in a more vulnerable position holding on to the ladder going down?
Nothing makes sense out of all of this.
My brother is a retired police officer. His two sons are actively officers as well.
I know that law enforcement officers are trained when they see an armed suspect they immediately grab their weapon and shout to the suspect to Put the weapon down. They don't run away from the suspect.

Get oldhead contractors that used to kick doors in instead of the DEI brigade that pollutes forces now. No way I'd join the new flags. No way in this world. This was a disgrace. I know there's a bit of dust being kicked up for Erik Prince of Blackwater running sec. I should have spelled my name Erik or Eriq or some other edgy iteration. Hm.

There are so many false stories out there. From what I heard, according to the police who were there, they had no access to the roof. So, one cop got on the shoulders of another, and when he peeked over the edge of the roof, the shooter pointed his rifle at him, so he dropped to the ground. It was all over seconds later.

One thing I learned years ago, first reports and even second reports are often wrong, even eye witnesses are often wrong or lying for publicity.

Yep. Everyone wants their slice and scoop.

There were some videos taken by people who were there. We'll see if any video footage comes out of the alleged officer on the ladder.
Otherwise you are correct. A lot of stories are out there. The so called anonymous person who reported that will eventually be found out who it is.

I agree - I am disappointed that Amir posted an incorrect name and photo early on, saying it was an ANTIFA member. I actually forwarded that info on to my Mom and now I have to eat crow as she believes I’m not getting the “real”
News like she does from MSNBC. Amir was trying to be the first to get the info out rather than doing due diligence.
He's been quick on the posts, but sometimes he has to retract. I've gotten to the point where it's interesting to me when he posts, but I wait to see if it hits the other news outlets or he provides a source I can look up on my own.

Like I said yesterday, Amir has the habit of posting reports without the sources. That's not good. When it turns out to not be accurate it's Amir who loses credibility because he didn't post a source. He needs to use discernment when he posts things.
