So I was catching up with Russian news with Konstantin of Inside Russia and his headline intrigued me. Kadyrov, head of the muslim independant army that Putin had to kiss a Koran to keep on their good side, has fled to Dubai. And in ways only a Russian would fully grasp (in other words it's foggy to me too) this traces back to a misstep that Kadyrov made after the downing of that plane in Azerbaijan. Kadyrov handed out medals (federal Russian medals) to the people who attacked the plane. This seems to have been a bridge too far for Putin, but wait, that's not all... Kadyrov was attempting a takeover of the Russian equivalent to Amazon and a MUSLIM named senator that has connections won in that strength contest. Suliemon somebody or other.
@Ghoti Ichthus I figured you'd enjoy that. You speculated at the time "who was on that flight" and you'd be right. For some reason Kadyrov wanted somebody dead on that flight.
But now if I caught the name right there's a power struggle among the muslim hordes taking over Russia demographically and Kadyrov is gone to Dubai for sunny weather with less chances of falling out of tall buildings I suppose.
As for the Suliemon guy, he's new to my ears, so I'm going to listen for more mentions of his name popping up
I can't seem to share the link to Inside Russia's "The Head of Chechnya Kadyrov is Gone. Markets are Down. Russia is Out of Money" but given Konstantin's usual long winded presentation, this is perhaps a blessing.
It was short- only 1 hour, short for Konstantin. Kadyrov news is at the very end.
But other stuff really interested me- here are the other 2 highlights that really stood out
1: Suddenly Putin and the propaganda machine in Russia are talking about Trump as a good guy and CHINA as the enemy ever since Trump talked with Putin. That's kind of a shocker to Russians who have gotten used to hearing about China as their bestest ever best friend in their media/propaganda machinery.
2: interest rates on houses are at 29% per year, Credit cards are at 38% interest. Banks are caught stealing from clients and nothing is being done. The govt is trying to tax the remaining businesses to pay for the soldiers in the Ukraine effort and the economy is sinking faster than the Titanic.
