I don’t normally watch confirmation hearings, but I have watched most of it this morning. Pete handles himself well and is disciplined in his answers. His vision on how DOD should be ran is probably making some high ranking civilians in the DOD, and top Generals a little nervous about their futures.

The testimonies of the many veteran warfighters who gathered yesterday and spoke to the public in the strongest terms in support of Pete Hegseth's confirmation as Secretary of Defense left absolutely no doubt in my mind that he is the correct man for the job.

Just saw a few clips, and love the way he presented how we don't need such a top-heavy layer of 4 star generals. Reminded me of the old saying about having too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

Yes i saw some of it. It was great. Normally i would be like how in the world can such a man be confirmed with the dog and pony shows we have seen in the past. Like, would senators really affirm such a risk to their entire military industrial complex? But it would seem he has a lot of surrounding support from military linkage that has strong ties too of support. So it looks like he well may be confirmed. Its sad we turned what was ceremonial (confirmation) into cow towing to senators whims for the country. At least its heading in the right direction. Thanks for posting Andy

I watched the VP swear in the new Sec of Def. It was a tough fight for final confirmation, which needed the VP to cast his vote to break the 50/50 tie in the Senate. When Pete made his remarks after being sworn in, he alluded to the VP breaking the senate tie by
Saying “this is not the first time a junior enlisted helped bail out a junior officer”.
