Mystery NJ drones are coming from Iranian mothership offshore, congressman suggests: ‘Should be shot down’

A New Jersey congressman claimed Wednesday that the mystery drones over the Garden State are from Iran, and they’re being launched by a mothership parked off the East Coast.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew, a Republican, said the drones “very possibly could be” from Iran, citing confidential sources during an appearance on Fox News Wednesday morning.

“I’m going to tell you the real deal. Iran launched a mothership that contains these drones,” Van Drew said. “It’s off the East Coast of the United States of America. They’ve launched drones.”

Mayorkas says government doesn't have authority to shoot down drones

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Friday said the government doesn't have the authority to shoot down drones and believes reports of some sightings are cases of mistaken identity.

Mayorkas appeared on CNN when he was asked about why the federal government doesn't take down one of the many drones that have been spotted across multiple states in recent weeks.

“Our authorities are very limited,” Mayorkas told CNN host Wolf Blitzer, citing missions involving unmanned aircraft conducted by various federal agencies. "We have various authorities that are discreet to their particular missions. We can't just shoot a drone out of the sky."

Mayorkas said officials believe reported drone sightings are “cases of mistaken identity” where drones are actually small aircraft “where people are misidentifying them," noting that some can be purchased at "convenience stores."

“We know of no threat or nefarious activity,” he said.

They have no authority to shoot down spy balloons either SMH 🙄

Wonder if this means the drones belong to UN/UN organization/proxy, WHO, etc., and the U.S. has already given up sovereignty to the UN :apost: :ban:

Ocean County Sheriff Says 50 Mysterious Drones Spotted Coming Off the Ocean — Claims ‘They Vanished Into Thin Air’ After Outrunning the Coast Guard and an ‘Industrial-Grade’ Drone

An eerie and unexplained phenomenon has gripped the Jersey Shore. Over the past several weeks, mysterious drones have been spotted in increasing numbers.

The unexplained aerial vehicles reportedly evaded detection, outran Coast Guard boats, and even disappeared into thin air after being pursued by industrial-grade drones launched by law enforcement.

In recent weeks, reports of fleets of mysterious drones, described as fixed-wing aircraft with 8-to-10-foot wingspans and blinking lights, have flooded local authorities, according to NewsNation reporter Rich McHugh.

Rich McHugh:
“I got to be honest here. When this story first came out a few weeks ago, as a resident of New Jersey and as a journalist, I didn’t pay it much credence. I thought it would turn out to be a bunch of pranksters, and this would all be over by now. The experience I had last night, however, changed how I feel about this story completely. What I saw was more sophisticated than I ever imagined,” McHugh said.

We’ve been looking for the past hour. I think we’ve seen about 40 or 50 of these drones. In fact, there’s one over my shoulder right there.
One after another, these drones appeared in the night sky. If you look closely, they look like fixed-wing aircraft, about 8 to 10 feet wide, with colorful, white blinking lights.

Hours earlier, I was invited to join the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. They launched their own drones to see if they could intercept the mysterious aircraft New Jersey residents have been reporting in recent weeks. The department says these mystery drones evade detection because they don’t give off heat like regular drones”

Now these remarks are not coming from ordinary citizens but from officials in law enforcement and contradicts the story coming from the State Department and The Homeland Security.
Somebody is lying or covering up something.
Too many similar sightings have happened on the East Coast and the West Coast and have been caught on video. The description of these "aircraft" all are compatible with drones, not planes driven by pilots. Hmmm 🤔 🧐

Im getting tired of folks droning on and on about drones….:)

Every post on this thread could possibly be true with our current administration.

However, I still think there is some sort of US military involvement via testing new drones, or some other classified event. These initial sightings could lead to other sightings that normally would not make the news of it weren’t for the huge area in the sky first reported days ago.

Intel gathering by our enemies have much better ways to gather info, done in a clandestine manner - not as an obvious “neon sign” in the sky for all to see.

I don't know what is going on, but I reckon half or more of it is hysteria, then throw in a handful of jokesters who want to gin it up, get their clicks on socials, maybe a couple pilots who want to have ATC on a little bit, etc. Pretty soon it takes on a life of it's own.

Until one lands on my roof, I reckon I'll wait and see what happens. I bet the sightings stop on Jan 20 tho.

My own drone story: we were staying at one of the beach condos couple summers ago, and someone flew a common DJI type drone around the beach, it stopped a little ways off our balcony and hung out a couple minutes, then zipped away down the beach. After that, we pulled the curtains shut in the evening! Remember that scene in the original Star Wars where Vader comes into Leia's cell, and the medical/interrogation drone is hovering along behind him? Not gonna lie, that scene came to mind as I looked at the one hovering off our balcony.

And they make an atrocious noise.

True, at times it's hard to believe something unless it "hits home".
At this point it's not confirmed as to why they're up there or who has them up there.
It could be a number of things including a psyop of distraction, a classified exercise, surveillance, and it could be a national security issue, we just don't know.
But when our own government is in the habit of lying and being involved in nefarious things that impact us as a nation, it is a little concerning, but as believers we don't want to be overly concerned because we know God is on The Throne and in Control, but we do want to have discernment and not believe everything is alright and get caught off guard if we find ourselves in a serious situation nobody is telling us about.
Those balloons in the sky a couple of years ago were "nothing" according to our government and later come to find they were surveillance balloons from China that were monitoring our military bases and the second time around that a balloon was up there it got shot down.
There are conflicting explanations coming from officials about the nature of these aircraft and that causes raised eyebrows bringing the question of what else are we being lied to about and why?
We have a right to know and like I said, it's understandable that we could see it as no problem when it's happening "over there", but when it hits home and it affects us or our loved ones personally, then it's a problem.
We live in interesting times. Never a dull moment.

Some coincidents to consider:
Agreement opens test corridor stretching from Joint Base McGuire to Dover AFB linking to New Jersey's Aviation Innovation Hub in Atlantic County. An agreement to create a test and evaluation corridor for the development of UAV's/UASs and automated advanced air mobility technologies has been signed by officials of USTRANSCOM, AMC, NARTP and the Atlantic County Economic Alliance https://www.nartp.com/news-and-pres...stranscom-usaf-air-mobility-command-and-acea/ (that link got killed quickly so go here https://menafn.com/1106379182/NARTP...USTRANSCOM-USAF-AIR-MOBILITY-COMMAND-AND-ACEA )
From the article: UASs are often referred to as drones, while AAM involves the use of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to move people and cargo between places not easily served by other modes of transportation.

Now for the "drone." Search for: "xp-4 transitioning drone" Watch the three minute video of the electric "drone' about the size of a SUV https://pterodynamics.com/ " PteroDynamics is a pioneer in autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft and inventor of the Transwing VTOL system that overcomes the inherent shortcomings of current VTOL aircraft by combining the speed, range, endurance, and payload capacity of a fixed-wing airplane with superior VTOL performance in a simple, efficient autonomous UAS platform."

Is this it? Could be? Maybe not? Near silent electric propulsion with no heat signature, can loiter and then fly... I'll just say... "interesting."

I'm going to sleep well tonight, and not go out and buy 80 gallons of diesel for the big generator. Lots of "fear" based stories floating around...

It could similar to Jade 15, when civilians were circulating rumors the US military was going to take over certain cities and have detention camps. It turned out to be nothing more than a huge urban military training exercise.

Still More on the East Coast Saga Over Drones, With John Kirby Doing an About-Face

Fox host Martha MacCallum pushed Kirby on the matter:

Martha MacCallum: "Do you know, and you can't say? Can you tell me that?"

John Kirby: "No, I'm telling you Martha, we don't know, every... we don't know."

MM: "Let me ask you..."

JK "...to corroborate every single sighting. Some of them we have, but not all of them, and we're working hard to do that, we know people are afraid of it, we know people have concerns, we have those same concerns.

They do? Only yesterday, Kirby said:

We have not been able to, and neither have state and local law enforcement authorities, corroborate any of the visual sightings. To the contrary, on review of available imagery it appears that many of the reported sightings are of manned aircraft, that are being operated lawfully. The United States Coast Guard has been providing support to the state of New Jersey and has confirmed that there is no evidence of any foreign-based involvement from foreign vessels. And importantly, there are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted airspace.

That seems like quite the change in 24 hours. John Kirby's sudden flip from Thursday's denial that there was anything to worry about is troubling. One is tempted to demand what he knows and when he knew it, and the answer to the second half of that famous query would appear to be "since yesterday." Between his press briefing then and his appearance on Fox Friday, something has changed. People in several states have reported seeing these drones, including some who have compared the appearances with commercial flight tracker apps to avoid misidentifying a manned aircraft that is being operated lawfully.

1LoverofGod... I also think there is a psy op part to this too. The government is looking to get more control over drone surveillance powers. Here they are saying publicly that they want tremendous surveillance powers that violate the constitution to be handed over to the states to manage. https://rumble.com/v5zarjt-congress...to-state-local-law-enforcement-agencies-.html Congress is Proposing to Expand the use of CUAS Technology to state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies…. to Protect You from Drones. Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) technology is a range of tools used to detect, track, and neutralize drones and other unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Now can you picture what renegade states would do with this power? Do all the states follow the constitution now? Are sanctuary cities constitutional? Is illegal immigration the size of a mass migration constitutional?

So the "powers that be" may be priming the pump (ie we the people) for another decision to give up more of our constitutional rights to privacy for safety? Just like with the "Patriot Act."

Its a complicated world we live in these days... keep your eyes open and watch your 6.

Edit:Now a news outlet camera caught a "spinning orb" that is sort of otherworldly! This sighting fits more with Adrian's observations than my theory above. https://vigilantnews.com/post/bizar...ew-in-new-jersey-as-drone-invasion-continues/

Well, I may be a nut, but............ I find it very interesting that along with the drone stuff, we are also being bombarded with an exhorbitant amount of news of food recalls, and more pandemic warnings of several kinds. It's like TPTB are trying very hard to scare our citizens on many fronts. Get us to live in fear and we will become more dependent on them to "protect" us.
When you put it all together, it is downright scary!! Time to rely on our God who never changes and will bring through whatever is going on.

Surely there's been a lot of fear mongering going on at every turn we look, and coming from government interestingly.
