It’s official.

#BREAKING: IDF Statement
"In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel – right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran.

The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th – on seven fronts – including direct attacks from Iranian soil.

Like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond.

Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized.

We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel.

Attached is a video statement from the IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari: bit.ly/4hdYiqN"

Iran media confirming "explosions" & reporting the Iran 🇮🇷 Air Force is now in the skies.

I truly doubt the Iranian Air Force is in the skies. Iran most likely does not want to lose what little they have in the way of an Air Force. If any Iranian aircraft are in the air, they're fleeing, trying to find someplace where they won't be blown to bits. I don't think Israel would target the Iranian Air Force because it doesn't pose a threat.

At this time the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense and the security top brass are in the underground IDF headquarters in the Kirya base in Tel Aviv. According to the reports, the military operation was confirmed by phone close to the attack in order to prevent leaks.

Israel confirms it has struck Iran, as explosions rock Tehran

Five explosions were reported heard across Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj early on Saturday morning, according to Iranian media, in what is alleged to be the beginning of an Israeli retaliatory attack on Iran.

Israeli officials confirmed to Army Radio that Israel had started striking targets across Iran.

"The IDF is currently attacking precise targets in Iran," IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a statement. "This is in response to persisting attacks by the Iranian regime on the State of Israel."The IDF is completely prepared in attack and in defense. We are following the developments from Iran and its proxies in the region."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant are Overseeing the Strikes against Iran from the Underground-Headquarters of the Israel Defense Force in Tel Aviv.

Could be the calm before the actual storm.

According to the preparations, this is only the initial wave of strikes to disable defense systems.

Further waves of strikes will follow and this operation may continue for some time.

So what we are seeing right now may just the beginning…

Or who knows. This might have been an Intel collecting mission as well for Israel to “test the Iranian air defense systems and response”

Israel might continue tonight. OR they might resume Sunday night for all we know.

I seriously DOUBT that this was Israel’s “full response”

@Andy C
Maybe you have a point. This may be just warm up?

Why am I disappointed?

We had a golden opportunity to strike the nuclear sites and finally do what we’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t before. Not a single Western or Arab country would have been disappointed with us if we had done so.

A nuclear Iran poses a danger not only to Israel but to the entire moderate Sunni Arab world.

We should have crippled their nuclear sites, gas and oil production facilities, and missile bases all at once.

Israel attacked defense systems that would give our planes a safe space to attack very significant targets.
