Explaining Mormonism

Ronnie

Can’t wait to get to Beulah Land!
Mormons today are more and more accepted as Christians. In fact many of them believe they are. And their organization's advertising stresses their "Christianity" and uses biblical ideas in Mormon advertising. But are they being honest? Is the Church of Jesus Christ a legitimate Christian group?

If you do not know the answer, then please take a few minutes to watch the following sorry video. It lays out exactly what actual Mormon doctrine teaches. Then decide for yourself the answer to the question: are Mormons actually Christians?

I was stationed with a Mormon guy in Virginia. He was a really nice guy, super friendly. I read some of his Book of Mormon and other literature, strictly out of curiosity.

Since I was raised in the Methodist Church and had changed over to Baptist by the time I was 17, I was curious to see what they believed.

I can just tell you from what little I learned from him, they have some unbiblical beliefs. He was reading a Mormon book titled The Levels of Heaven. I asked him about it and he told me they believed there was 10 levels of heaven. I then asked him if you died tomorrow? What level of heaven would you be in? He quickly replied, I’d be in level five. I then asked him how he knew that, he replied because that’s the highest level I’ve studied and worked my way into.

He asked me what I believed about Heaven? I said I don’t believe there’s higher levels in heaven, I believe there’s higher rewards.

I made it a point not to argue faith and the Bible with him. He was young and recently married.

I simply told him I believe Jesus is the only way to heaven. I mentioned something about the Holy Trinity and I’m not sure he was receptive to that. I was a guest in his house so I opted not to argue religion with him and his wife as it was quite obvious they were devout Mormons.
