Betty's "Thoughts from my heart"

February 8, 2026

Happy Saturday,

Trusting When We See No Answer

The last 6 months have been physically, emotionally, and mentally draining. I am so grateful for God answering my prayer and I appreciate Him acting in my behalf.

Yet, I must admit that I feel exhausted. The day after day of waiting has drained me. I never gave up my faith; but I did question God’s timing. It is hard when we see no answer in sight and yet we fight on, trusting in God when we do not see an answer coming.

God will restore me. I will rest in Him. I may not know the answer until I go to Heaven, yet my faith in God is firm. Maybe that is the lesson to be learned: that our trust in God can be secure even when we spend many weeks in the midst of the storm.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Tuesday,

Worthy Is The Lamb

Revelation 5:8-12
New King James Version

Worthy Is the Lamb

8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

Only Jesus was worthy to open the scrolls. Only Jesus is sinless. It took the death of the sinless to save the sinful. What a Mighty God we serve!

Yet, we often take Him for granted.

God open our eyes to the truth of who you are and how you have forgiven us of so much. Help us to appreciate the great sacrifice you made to save the souls of sinful mankind.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Monday,

Do Not Become Complacent

When we have a few normal days, we can become complacent in our spiritual life. We may cease to lean on God as much. We may even neglect our Bible reading and praying.

Truth is we need God during good and bad times. When we have a good day, take time to thank our Heavenly Father for it. Be grateful for those quiet and peaceful days.

On good and bad days take time to pray for others. Seek opportunities to encourage on another. Everyone has bad days and all of us need encouragement.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
New King James Version
11 Therefore [a]comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Romans 14:19
So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

Jude 1:20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Titus 2:11-15
New King James Version
Trained by Saving Grace
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. 15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

Our hope is in Jesus Christ. He will never fail us. We must trust Him in every situation and circumstance; and when we begin to falter, do not be afraid to reach out to our Christian sisters and brothers for help. Do not allow pride to keep us from admitting we are discouraged and need help.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Friday,

God is Love

“Promise #51:

You can know and depend on the love I have for you.

1 John 4:16 (WEB)
"We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him."

It is important that we remind ourselves of God’s love for us. During times of despair, depression and confusion, we can begin to doubt that God loves us, but the Bible makes it clear that God’s love for us will never fail.

God loves us even when we falter and fail Him. His love is consistent. When we learn to depend upon God’s love, we then can feel safe even in hard times.

Let us seek to show our love to God in prayer and praise. We do works for God, not to earn Heaven but because we love Him.

Maranatha,

Betty

God, Help Us To Stand Steadfast

Daily Prayer for February 25
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations.” Isaiah 42:1, NIV

Dear Father in heaven, grant that we may stand in your grace. Grant that the light of your grace may come to us through your Word. Keep us firm in faith until the promised time when your redemption shall come to all the nations on earth. We are often anxious and ask ourselves if people can bear it. Will they learn to listen to your Word? Will they remain steadfast when hard times come? Will they turn to you alone, to you who know the hour and appoint the time when we may see the promised day? Let the might of your hand prevail over the whole world. You are the only power that can help us out of our great affliction, you our only Lord. Amen”

We do not know what tomorrow holds, but we can ask God to keep us firm in Him and help us not to be a flag-waving in the wind from left to right. To stand strong in His Holy Word and righteousness. God help us not to bring shame to His Name.
Maranatha,
Betty

2 Corinthians 2:11-17

11Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

12Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Happy Tuesday,

Do I Put God First?

I would love to say that I always put God first, but that would be a lie. I often give in to my selfish desires. I am often more concerned about my needs than others.

My trials and my physical pain often take over my agenda. God wants us to have compassion on others and care about their needs. It is hard sometimes to feel for others when our pain overwhelms us. Yet, we build up our own faith when we pray for others, even when we are hurting.

There are things that we go through that overwhelm us; this is when we need to draw closer to God. God does understand our pain and our weakness. He cares about us. Seek God in all circumstances.

14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust."
Psalm 103:13-14

Pray For The Lost

Daily Prayer for March 7
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” Psalm 118:14-16, NIV

Dear Father in heaven, we are your children, and we look to you and to your help at every turn of our lives. Remember us, especially when we want to serve you. Stay with us with your Spirit so that everything may work out to further your kingdom and the victory of Jesus Christ, which is to be proclaimed on earth. Through his victory all people shall find in him their Savior and look to you, our Father in heaven. Yes, Father in heaven, have mercy on the world, on the many who are unfortunate and who suffer from the widespread evil around them. Remember them. Have mercy on us through the strong and mighty Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen”

The truth is we cannot talk to every soul on earth. We cannot donate to every organization. We can reach who we can and donate what we can, but we can pray for everyone.

Our prayers are not a waste of time and effort. God hears our heart's cries. We will not see the results of the prayers we send up for those across the world in this lifetime. I do believe that we will be told of the prayers that God answered for us when we get to Heaven. We will meet souls that were reached because of our prayers on their behalf.

Let us not neglect praying for lost souls, for the sick, and for hurting souls.
Maranatha,
Betty

Happy Wednesday,

Spilled Coffee

Got up and fixed me a cup of coffee, then proceeded to knock my coffee over on the floor and in my purse. This time I did not get upset. As humans, we get upset over so many little things.

We can ruin our day before it starts by allowing little things to upset us. What takes a few minutes to clean up can cause us to get agitated and if we are not careful, we can take our bad mood out on others

It is often the little things that get us out of sorts. We get angry at ourselves. If someone else had done it we would forgive them. How about us learning to forgive ourselves? To accept our goof-ups, just as we would others. Show a little love and patience towards ourselves for a change. It is okay to show ourselves some love.

Remember to show love and grace towards others. To pray for one another and take time to give praise to our Heavenly Father. Have a blessed day.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Friday,

We Grow Tired

So many people I know are under attack. They are frustrated and confused about why God is allowing them to suffer so. They pray but they are still suffering. They have no understanding of why God is allowing these attacks.

God never promised to explain to us in the middle of our circumstances His reasoning behind our situation. True faith is trusting God in spite of the troubles and trials we are going through. We have to stop trying to fix our circumstances and lean into God more.

The more we trust God, the more at peace we will be. The more we pray and praise God, the stronger our faith will grow.

Amen! Through Christ alone! Thank you, Father, for the gift of Your Son. Thank you, Jesus, for coming and suffering and dying for us. Thank you Holy Spirit for coming in and living in wretches such as we are, in order to enable us to accept God's free gift and to help us live in such a way as to live lives of gratitude for such a great salvation. Glory to God!

Happy Friday,

Suffering Is A Given

If we are going to grow in our relationship with Christ, we must be prepared to suffer. Growing pains are real and are necessary.

“As God shapes the character of His people through refining fires in life, He affirms that our hope comes from being known and knowing we belong to Him (Isaiah 43:1). Though we can’t escape hardship, God promises to protect us and be present (v. 2). His identity and His love for us make His promises secure (vv. 3-4).

When life’s circumstances heat up, we may feel fragile. We may even be fragile. But God holds us firmly in love, no matter how blazing hot the furnace gets. We are known. We are loved. We are His!”

We do not want to enter Heaven as a baby Christian. We want to grow and flourish. We want to become mature Christians. We must make a choice not to fight against God’s will for us but to lean into Him and pray for Him to sustain us through our battles.

Resistance brings more pain, while surrendering to God will bring peace even through the fire of testing. We may not be able to see spiritual growth in ourselves, but God does. We are not living to please ourselves but to please our Heavenly Father.

Maranatha,

Betty

  1. Romans 5:2
through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
  2. Romans 5:4
