Not sure how you go from atheist to evangelical to Roman Catholic. He says he was encouraged in his faith by his wife who is a practicing Hindu. They sound all mixed up unfortunately.

**Here we Go. Information has come up on VD Vance.
I trust Patrick Wood as a source. It contains some Deep stuff but Wood is very thorough and well informed. (Read the preface of the article.)
We need to pay attention....

{Patrick Wood gives permission to share at end of article}

While J.D. Vance has his own controversies, his close connection to billionaire Peter Thiel, who is poised to have unprecedented influence in a new Trump administration, should deeply unsettle every American who cares about freedom, privacy and reining in the surveillance state.

After the recent revelation that Donald Trump had selected J.D. Vance as his Vice President, public attention not only turned toward Vance, but also to the billionaire Peter Thiel. Vance has been one of several prominent Thiel protégés whose profile has risen in recent years, with other protégés of the PayPal co-founder including OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Anduril’s Palmer Luckey.

Recent reports have also noted that Thiel first recruited Vance into his circle while Vance was still a student at Yale Law School. Shortly thereafter, Vance joined Thiel’s investment firm Mithril Capital, where he worked for two years before joining Revolution Ventures. Vance played a major role in Revolution’s “Rise of the Rest” seed fund whose major investors included Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and the Walton family of WalMart, who boast long-standing deep ties to the Clinton family. Vance later launched his own venture capital firm Narya Capital in 2020, which was heavily funded by Thiel as well as former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

It's lengthy but informative

If true, I wonder if this can fly in accordance with GOP rules, and how a replacement would be nominated and approved by the delegates.
The reason given to remove Vance would have to be "reasonable" and publicly "acceptable" to the voting public. Maybe President Trump found out something(s) unacceptable about Vance, but can't/won't reveal it publicly (or only to delegates)?

Adjusts tin foil trefoil:

If true, is this a sneaky way for President Trump to get someone on the ticket that wouldn't have been approved at the RNC?

I just heard J.D. Vance say his name is on the ballot. Someone is probably joking because Biden just got pushed out by all his buddies, and replaced with Cackler Harris.

Personally I think JD Vance was a terrible pick for vice president, but that's immaterial. It seems that these rumors about replacing JD are emanating largely from the Democrat political pundit class. From some research I've done it would appear that Chuck Schumer was actually the first person to suggest this. And we all know how reliable Chuck is!

Despite how much Trump and his advisors may regret choosing JD, I don't think it is in Trump's nature to dump him. My difficulty with Mr Vance is that he appeals to the very same portion of the Republican party as Trump does, without bringing anything new to the table. It's as though Trump has created a Mini-Me but without his business and political acumen. Personally, I see only liabilities with no gripping positives.

My thoughts exactly, and a Christian is also taught in :bible: not to be unequally yoked. Hindu is not Christian by a long shot.
Only God can see the hearts of man, but it's wise to be discerning, and while words can say much, it's the works that tells more.

Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help
Psalm 146:3

“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings" Jeremiah 17:9-10

The fact that Chuck Schemer and the rest of the Demwits are against JD, tells me Trump made the right choice. Wether I personally like the pick or not does not matter.

I believe the pick was financially driven, it’s all about who can bring the most money to the table. This fact has driven most of the elections in my lifetime.

It shouldn’t be that way, but it is so clear Ray Charles can see it.
You hit it right on the money 🤣
Vance has the support from Silicon Valley. Billionaires from SV will give their backing to Trump because he picked Vance.

From today...

Peter Thiel more ‘hopeful’ about possible second Trump term after JD Vance pick

Billionaire venture capitalist Peter Thiel’s relationship with former President Donald Trump could be on the mend after Trump picked Thiel’s top choice to be his running mate.

Thiel and others in Silicon Valley were reportedly hoping that Vance would be Trump’s vice presidential pick.

According to the New York Times, however, Vance’s nomination for vice president indicates that the Trump campaign could be keeping a close eye on mega-donors like Thiel. Vance had the backing of other Silicon Valley mega-donors like tech entrepreneur David Sacks and Palantir adviser Jacob Helberg, as well as Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr.
