What do you think of churches who will not take an "official" stance on End Times or Israel?

Sadly, sometimes a person --even a minister-- can forget the power of the Word of God to do what it says it does ... and consequently feels they need to punch it up a bit with some form of emotional or worldly support. Other than that does he faithfully open up the scriptures for the flock? Does he minister to their needs? In other words, does he do his best to care for you all?

Well by discernment I meant the fact that showing this show conveys to the congregation that it is a good show to watch.

I have only been going there for the last few months off and on. He is a sweet man but as far as ministering to the needs, I don’t know.
I have yet to hear them teach any real meat of the word. Maybe that’s just typical baptist church.

You are correct. Of course, he himself may think it is a good show to watch (which raises another question or two) but, regardless, it did indeed lead the flock toward unhealthy pasture and dangerous water.

I hope not. But, sadly, it's more and more of what I hear these days. That's why I like listening to Jim Cymbala at Brooklyn Tabernacle, or Tim Dilena at Times Square Church, or Carter Conlon wherever he preaches. Of course there are other good ones (plus we have many great ones who have gone home but are still preaching through their recordings) but those are three of my go-to guys these days, along with the classics who have gone on before. Please understand I'm not downgrading people such as David Jeremiah, Jack Hibbs or Andy Wood, etc. They are all theologically sound. It's just that I not only agree with the theology of the three I named first, but I really like the way they each communicate the messages God gives them.

Encourage your pastor. And don't be afraid to respectfully and gently but firmly challenge him where you think he may be wrong. We all need that. Being a pastor is not an easy calling. Honest, godly input helps us: it enables us to not get lost in an echo chamber.
