Watch: Biblical Red Heifer ritual comes to life in rehearsal ceremony

For them to be doing this, it's serious. When we can see the Temple preparations in such an advanced state, it won't be long now. Israel is the hour hand, Jerusalem is the minute hand, and the Temple Mount is the second hand. Tick tock!

So we down to one heifer now ?
I'm not 100% certain. The following is from March 2025.

The quest for the perfect red heifer—a requirement for the purification rites of the Third Temple—has hit yet another roadblock.

Rabbi Azariah Ariel, leading the Temple Institute’s Red Heifer Project, recently shared an update, stating, “At this moment, it is unclear whether we have in our possession in Israel a red heifer that is verifiably kosher and suited for the ceremony.”

This announcement is significant, as it indicates that the long-awaited ritual purification process for rebuilding the Temple may be postponed by several years. The stringent biblical requirements for the red heifer, found in Numbers 19, demand that the cow be entirely red, free from blemishes and have never carried a burden. Even a few stray white hairs can disqualify it.

Rabbi Ariel explained that the five red heifers brought from America, though initially meeting these standards, “began to grow white hairs.” This means a new group of calves must be bred, raised and inspected over time before any purification rites can proceed.

Mondo Gonzales speaking on a broadcast aired March 23 of 2025- this year stated that 3 were still qualified. - YouTube at around the 9 minute mark.

So if one of them was "disqualified" that leaves 2 left after this one was burned in a "practice" ceremony. If he misspoke, and the article linked above in AH's post, is the correct one, that means 2 were qualified back in Feb, and one became disqualified and got burned for practice.

One big thing stands out to me. It's why I used quotes around the words disqualified, and practice.

--- If the priests wanted to avoid trouble with the local Arab Muslims, wouldn't it make sense to talk up how they were burning a disqualified heifer? And then do it. Without the Arabs getting in an uproar over it all.

The problem with burning the red heifer has been the reaction of the Arabs, and the reaction of the police who often act against their own people to prevent Arab unrest.

When would it be OK to burn???

When the local Arabs are reassured of the deep disappointment of the Jews in the failure of this red heifer. As they laugh at that disappointment they relax, everyone is ok

And NOW there is a whole cow's worth of ashes, ready to go when the Temple Mount faithful get the word to build.

They aren't going to want to waste any time applying for permission to burn a perfect red heifer at that point in time. They know that time is of the essence.

Now that doesn't mean that this wasn't a practice session on a disqualified red heifer

If they have another "practice" session that might really draw suspicion. That would be a missed opportunity. If I were them, I wouldn't miss the opportunity.

Just my opinion though.

Is the link in the OP a reliable actual news source? I’m just asking because I’m so tired of false information on this subject. I can’t find anything posted by the Temple Institute regarding this on their website or social media. The video is spreading throughout all the watcher communities like wildfire. (No pun intended)
EDIT: never mind, I just read their “about” page and they are legit About

I was thinking something similar. This was a "disqualified" heifer, and a "practice burn" wink wink, nudge nudge. Well, maybe it was, and maybe it wasn't. I guess we'll see (hopefully from the VIP balcony section)
