UN Conference On Two-state Solution To Mideast Conflict Set For June

An international conference meant to resurrect the idea of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will take place from June 17 to 20 at the UN headquarters in New York, a UN spokeswoman said Friday.

The conference stems from a resolution approved in December by the UN General Assembly and it will be co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia.
The dates of this meeting were confirmed by UN spokeswoman Sharon Birch.

A diplomat in Paris close to preparations for the conference said it should pave the way for more countries to recognize a full-blown Palestinian state.

Nearly 150 countries recognize the State of Palestine, which has observer status at the United Nations but is not a full member as the Security Council has not voted to admit it.

The "Baghdad Declaration" calls on ALL COUNTRIES to support “the categorical rejection of ANY FORM of DISPLACEMENT of the Palestinian people from their land, and under any name, circumstance or justification.”

He called for a just and COMPREHENSIVE PEACE PLAN and final settlement of the Palestinian issue. He called on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to convene an INTERNATIONAL PEACE CONFERENCE and take irreversible steps to IMPLEMENT the TWO-STATE SOLUTION, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the resolutions of international legitimacy.

He called for the deployment of international UN “protection and PEACEKEEPING FORCES” in the occupied Palestinian territory until the implementation of the two-state solution.

He also called on the UN SECURITY COUNCIL to take the necessary measures to IMPLEMENT the "two-state solution" via a BINDING UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION.

The meeting will take place while the world watches Israel go into Gaza with Operation Gideon’s Chariots.

Macron needs the Saudis to go with him, the Saudis seem emboldened lately by their new found closeness with America. The more daylight between America and Israel, the more opportunity for Macron to weasel his way in there and set up side deals like this with the Saudis.

On the one hand it's great that some like Huckabee are able to give their input, but on the other hand there are those who want closer ties to the Arab states, and to the muslim world. Sadly as someone mentioned in another post, Paula White probably is having the majority say with Trump as i'm sure Huckabee and Bill and Tania Koenig are trying to be as loud as they can with Trump not to do deals with the devil that kibosh Israel (probably other evangelical leaders are warning him as well but those are the immediate names that come to mind that i know of)
