UK will lead ‘Hormuz Coalition’ to reopen strait after Iran left behind deadly sea mines

The UK’s is set to lead a coalition of countries including the France to help sweep the Strait of Hormuz for mines and reopen it to oil tanker traffic, according to a report.

London is working to organize a summit of 30-some nations that had agreed to provide “appropriate efforts” to reopen the strait, according to Politico.

Additionally, the UK said it is looking to send a either a Royal Navy mine sweeper ship or hire a civilian ship that can launch mine sweeping drones into the area, The Times reported.
Iran still has at least a dozen mines in the narrow shipping lane that are imperiling commercial shipping traffic, according to a report.

However, the British government believes there is a safe path through the strait, according to a new report, as a few tankers made it safely through the chokepoint.

Hormuz Patrol: European Powers To Stick It To Trump by Doing Exactly What Trump Asked

A European-led mission to clear the Strait of Hormuz and keep it open for global oil traffic is being spun as a snub to President Donald Trump, despite it being exactly what the American leader has been asking for allies to step up and do for weeks.

France’s Emmanuel Macron and Britain’s Keir Starmer will co-host a conference of potential contributing members of “coalition of the willing”-like mission to patrol the Strait of Hormuz, the critical chokepoint in the Persian Gulf, which in normal times sees a fifth of the world’s daily seaborne oil trade, on Friday. Reuters reports that the two leaders will meet in person at the conference, and representatives of up to 40 other countries will dial in by teleconference to discuss maritime security in the Middle East.

I really confuse to the plan, that's what the British government wanted in the first place I believe tankers made it through the chokepoint inside the Strait.

I doubt any help will come from this meeting. They will probably come to the conclusion they need more meetings to keep kicking the can down the road, hoping the USA will fix their problems.

Maybe Macrons wife will again slap some sense in to him.

Cowards, both of them.

I saw an interesting podcast with Victor Davis Hanson talking about the Strait of Hormuz. Bottom line is in a few years the Strait will be a non factor due to other travel ways bypassing the area. Not any help now, but long term Iran will not control oil traffic.
