Trump Says if He is Sentenced on January 10, it ‘Would Be the End of the Presidency As We Know it’

President-elect Donald Trump has expressed his outrage in a post on Truth Social after New York Judge Juan Merchan set a sentencing date of January 10 in his New York “hush money” case.

Trump said that if the judge’s decision is allowed to stand, “it would be the end of the Presidency as we know it.”

If it is not overturned or postponed, the sentencing will occur just ten days before Trump returns to the White House.

Trump responded to the date being scheduled by writing, “Every Legal Scholar and Pundit, including the highly respected, and sadly recently passed, David Rivkin, as well as Jonathan Turley, Elie Honig, Andy McCarthy, Alan Dershowitz, Gregg Jarrett, Elizabeth Price Foley, Katie and Andy Cherkasky, Paul Ingrassia, and many others, have unequivocally stated that the Manhattan D.A.’s Witch Hunt is a nonexistent case, which is not only barred by the Statute of Limitations but, on the merits, should never have been brought.”

“This illegitimate political attack is nothing but a Rigged Charade. ‘Acting’ Justice Merchan, who is a radical partisan, just issued another order that is knowingly unlawful, goes against our Constitution and, if allowed to stand, would be the end of the Presidency as we know it.”

I'm praying for Divine intervention here because we pretty much know where Trump stands in many of his policies, but if Vance takes the Presidency because of Trump being sentenced, we don't know a whole lot about Vance and his position in important things that matters to us, and Vance does have a sketchy background that while he publicly changed in his position with respect to Trump in favor of Trump being President, Vance has never stated he's changed his position in many things that we wouldn't support. Trump has appointed some questionable people for cabinet positions and if those people have not changed in their positions either, having Vance as President and people in the cabinet that potentially may turn everything around for this country, ugh, not good.
But God is Good and we trust Him.

I pray that whether President Trump or VP Vance is better for Israel, that God’s will be done for Jesus’ sake.

N.Y. judge upholds Trump conviction but won’t impose jail time

A New York judge is upholding President-elect Donald Trump’s criminal conviction but signaled he will not impose jail time.

State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan said Friday the best way to dispose of the case is an unconditional discharge, which is a lenient alternative to probation or incarceration. He set sentencing for Jan. 10 — 10 days before the presidential inauguration — and told Mr. Trump to appear either in person or virtually, given the demands of his transition to the White House.

However, Judge Merchan refused Mr. Trump’s request to throw out the jury’s decision to convict him on 34 counts of falsifying business records, meaning Mr. Trump faces the prospect of becoming the first president to celebrate his inauguration as a convicted felon. The defense argued that doctrines around presidential immunity require dismissal of the case.

This is actually good for President Trump. Once asentence is passed, The trial is technically over and an appeal can be filed ... not of the sentence but of the conviction, which is far more important. The political partisanship or lawfare that has corrupted our justice system must be exposed and shut down once and for all. An appeal will permit that. But until the sentence is imposed, no appeal is possible.

The greatest legal minds in America have condemned the charges and the subsequent conduct of the trial as worthy of a third-world political show trial. I do not believe either the charges or the conviction will stand on appeal but will be thrown out, lock stock and barrel. But then maybe I have too much faith in the American justice system.

Trump files emergency petition to Supreme Court to prevent sentencing in NY v. Trump

President-elect Donald Trump filed an emergency petition to the United States Supreme Court Wednesday morning in an effort to block his sentencing in New York v. Trump.

Judge Juan Merchan set Trump's sentencing in New York v. Trump for Jan. 10 after a jury found the now-president-elect guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree, stemming from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's investigation. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges and has appealed the ruling but was rejected last week by Merchan.

"President Trump’s legal team filed an emergency petition with the United States Supreme Court, asking the Court to correct the unjust actions by New York courts and stop the unlawful sentencing in the Manhattan D.A.’s Witch Hunt," Trump spokesman and incoming White House communications director Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital.

"The Supreme Court’s historic decision on Immunity, the Constitution, and established legal precedent mandate that this meritless hoax be immediately dismissed."

Trump's Surprisingly Mellow Response to SCOTUS Decision on Sentencing

One suspects he's quite used to them, but even for President-elect Donald Trump, Thursday has been a busy day. While he spent the morning, along with his wife Melania, at the funeral services for former President Jimmy Carter and later in the day announcing additional appointments to his incoming administration, a bevy of legal decisions was being made regarding him.

First, the New York Court of Appeals denied his request to stay the sentencing in his Manhattan criminal case (set for Friday morning). Then, the Supreme Court did the same, just as the 11th Circuit denied his co-defendants' efforts to block the release of (former) Special Counsel Jack Smith's "Final Report."

With none of the day's rulings going his way, you might think his response — to the Supreme Court decision, in particular — might be a bit on the salty side. Instead, Trump took to Truth Social to thank the court for their time and effort in a post that seems rather sanguine.

I appreciate the time and effort of the United States Supreme Court in trying to remedy the great injustice done to me by the highly conflicted “Acting Justice,” who should not have been allowed to try this case. Every Legal Scholar stated, unequivocally, that this is a case that should never have been brought. There was no case against me. In other words, I am innocent of all of the Judge’s made up, fake charges. This was nothing other than Weaponization of our Justice System against a Political Opponent. It’s called Lawfare, and nothing like this has ever happened in the United States of America, and it should never be allowed to happen again. To this day, this highly political and corrupt Judge has put a gag order on me, which takes away my First Amendment right to speak about very important aspects of the case. For the sake and sanctity of the Presidency, I will be appealing this case, and am confident that JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL. The pathetic, dying remnants of the Witch Hunts against me will not distract us as we unite and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

"unconditional discharge"- faces no further penalties

The New York judge who presided over Donald Trump’s hush money case on Friday sentenced the president-elect to an “unconditional discharge,” meaning he is now a convicted felon in the eyes of New York state law but will face no further penalties.

"This has been a very terrible experience," a dour Trump said, speaking remotely from his Florida home when allowed to address the judge.

“It was done to damage my reputation so I would lose the election,” he said. "I am totally innocent. I did nothing wrong," he maintained.

BREAKING: Judge Merchan Imposes Trump's Sentence

After significant post-trial legal maneuvering, the sentencing hearing for President-elect Donald Trump was held in a Manhattan courtroom Friday morning, with Trump attending remotely from Florida with his attorney, Todd Blanche (soon to be Deputy Attorney General in the Trump administration, pending Senate confirmation).

Judge Juan Merchan presided over the proceedings and ultimately issued the anticipated sentence of "unconditional discharge," meaning no jail time or other punishment, save the "convicted felon" tag.

The prosecution and Trump's attorneys were provided with a probation report and given some time to review it. Trump's attorneys noted there were a few out-of-date facts on the report simply due to the date/timing of the report, but none that would affect the sentencing hearing.

The prosecution recommended a sentence of unconditional discharge. The prosecution also listed the actions Trump has taken since the verdict, which they contend undermine it and constitute a "direct attack on the rule of law," seemingly contradicting their own stance supporting the unconditional discharge in the process. (Once again, underscoring the illogic and inconsistencies of the case.)

Attorney Mike Davis Issues Dire Warning to Judge Juan Merchan and Democrats Over Weaponized Lawfare Against President Trump: “On January 20th at Noon, They’re Going to Become the Hunted”

Attorney Mike Davis, founder of the conservative Article III Project (A3P) and a staunch ally of President-elect Donald Trump, has issued a stern warning to Judge Juan Merchan and Democrat prosecutors, accusing them of engaging in “weaponized lawfare” against Trump.

For the next four years, the fake news media will be happy to introduce President Trump as the first criminally sentenced US President in history.

Speaking to political commentator Benny Johnson, Davis vowed to push for a criminal investigation into the “third-world Marxist trash” tactics, claiming the legal proceedings against Trump are a blatant abuse of power......

A sorry chapter in American jurisprudence. Hopefully Trump's team will file an appeal of the conviction and we can put the whole thing to rest once and forever. But for now, Mr Trump can assume the office to which he has been elected and I look forward with a great deal of hope to 4 years of good government.

It will be good to have him back in office, but I am still hoping believers will be going home :rapture: soon. This world is not my real home, and it can't compare to heaven with Jesus.
