The False Christ of Roman Catholicism

A great resource channel on Roman Catholicism is called Ex Catholics for Christ.
They were members for years in Roman Catholicism and thankfully came to the true Jesus and way of salvation ( faith alone in Christ alone by His grace alone !!)

They have many teachings and discussions on the religion, its false beliefs as well as the pope, current events and end times eschatology…
Just throwing that out there for anyone wanting insights and first hand experience of it.

Hi Steph. One of the biggest hurdles is the difference between "Cradle Catholics" and "Convert Catholics." People who were raised
in the RCC, cradle Catholics, it is like that is all they know; they minds are so filled and trained in RCC doctrines and practices. I am not saying they are robots, but they just can't seem to grasp that the Bible is the final authority as the word of God.
Converts to the RCC, on the other hand, will usually have a background of some church and Sunday school Bible based teachings from Protestant churches. Their reasons for becoming Catholic vary.
But my point is that cradle Catholics seem much more intrenched in RCC made-made teachings and dogma.
I converted to the RCC a few years after I was married. I realized what a huge mistake I made years later and I recommitted my faith that Christ alone for my salvation. I never returned to the RCC. I try to never go near any of their false teaching churches, and only want them to come to believe the gospel that Christ has already completely finished saving them at Calvary cross; that they are completely saved by the crucified, buried and risen Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. All they have to do is accept by faith the free gift eternal life that Christ already provided for them. I did and it was the happiness day of my life!
Something else: The RCC sees Protestants a being part of various denominations, not as just individual Christians. So, they will almost always refer to us not as individual saved, born-again Christians, but as Presbyterian or Lutheran, or Baptists or other institutions. Their thinking seems to be that we just go along like sheep with whatever we have been taught in whatever denomination we are part of. Unfortunately, there are Protestants and evangelicals who really do just go along blindly with what they have been taught without ever searching the Scriptures for themselves. They are sometimes referred to as "spoon-fed." If you ever watch any RCC TV programs and someone is interviewed who converted to the RCC, the person who converted is referred to by his former denominational affiliation, and not that they were simply a non Catholic The RCC leaders say their teachings are based on Scripture and tradition. But in reality it ends up being on whatever their RCC decides is the truth. I even heard an RCC priest scoff at the idea of just going by what the Bible says.

I was a cradle catholic. Going to church was just part of what we did each week. I never knew that the Bible was the Word of God. I believed there was a God but didn't know him. I even had a relationship with God but it was beyond my ability to understand. I was not saved. I really never knew much about catholic doctrine and there were/are probably many just like me. Church was just a part of life and the catholic church was what we were born in to. I was baptized, communionized, and confirmed but none of that really meant anything to me other than it was part of going to church.

Then one evening as a young adult I cracked open a book a sister of a friend had given me. I knew it had something to do with God, but didn't understand what. I read from the Bible for the first time in my life and was convicted and saved. Later I understood what had occurred in my life from reading the Word of God.

Catholics can be hard to reach for Christ because they want to trust that church that has always been a part of their lives. The priests, bishops, and the pope must know better. Tradition is hard to part with for many.

Long ago I came to understand the relationship I had with God even before I was saved. Our Savior knows the end from the beginning, and I was His.

I am :)glad you checked The :bible: out for yourself to understand (y)(y) salvation is a free gift to those who believe and receive. Jesus taught about traditions of men. He tells us to follow me not men. Only he is the way John 14:6. We are to be blood washed not brainwashed.

I had no foreknowledge of the concept of getting saved when I opened that Bible. The Holy Spirit took care of everything and made sure the deal was done. From then on I knew I was His but learned about the idea of getting saved from reading the Bible later.
