MSN says the 2 dead were in the vehicle that exploded while crossing into Buffalo.

So their ultimate goal was the bridge ? Were they thinking they were going to take out the bridge by blowing up their car like that? I’m no engineer but can’t see how that would work at all. Glad they failed.

According to ABC News, there is no indication that this was a terrorist attack.
The FBI said Wednesday night it is turning the car crash and explosion that occurred at the border earlier in the day to the Niagara Falls Police Department as a traffic investigation.

'FBI Buffalo has concluded our investigation at the scene of the Rainbow Bridge incident. A search of the scene revealed no explosive materials and no terrorism nexus was identified,' a statement from the agency read."

Reports from the scene state the car was traveling from the United States into Canada and was "airborne" when it crashed into the border booth and burst into flames. It sounds very suspicious to me. So, did it blow up because it had one of those electric car batteries? Because that is the only other scenario I can imagine. Cars don't usually just explode on their own, even with an impact (Thank God!)

The short article didn't give a reason for an explosion. It's possible for a gasser to explode but is rare nowadays.
