Goodboy
Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
God or god?
The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that Jesus is a god but not Almighty God. To make this point in their Bible John 1:1 shows the word god starting with the lower case letter “g” when referring to the Word (Jesus). However, look at the four scriptures below all taken from the Jehovah’s Witnesses New World Translation of the Bible. All of these passages refer to Jesus and use the upper case letter “G” for God, except for John 1:1 which is the only one that uses the lower case letter “g”.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
Isaiah 9:6 For a child has been born to us, A son has been given to us; And the rulership will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:23 “Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will name him Im·manʹu·el,” which means, when translated, “With Us Is God.”
John 20:28 In answer Thomas said to him: “My Lord and my God!”
If nothing else, this shows the inconsistency of the Jehovah’s Witnesses New World Translation of the Bible.
