Jehovah Witness’s New World Translation

God or god?

The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that Jesus is a god but not Almighty God. To make this point in their Bible John 1:1 shows the word god starting with the lower case letter “g” when referring to the Word (Jesus). However, look at the four scriptures below all taken from the Jehovah’s Witnesses New World Translation of the Bible. All of these passages refer to Jesus and use the upper case letter “G” for God, except for John 1:1 which is the only one that uses the lower case letter “g”.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.

Isaiah 9:6 For a child has been born to us, A son has been given to us; And the rulership will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Matthew 1:23 “Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will name him Im·manʹu·el,” which means, when translated, “With Us Is God.”

John 20:28 In answer Thomas said to him: “My Lord and my God!”

If nothing else, this shows the inconsistency of the Jehovah’s Witnesses New World Translation of the Bible.

The additional "of" they have inserted can imply that the verse is speaking of two different people. I am sure that is what they will say. 😞

Here is the King James version with only one "of".

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
I didn't notice that "of".
Their "translation" is incorrect, but we know that.

This is how the Greek Interlinear translates Titus 2:13 from The original Greek into English,

The Jehovah's Witnesses are much worse than I thought, as they lie or one could say are deceitful to their members.

I just read something on their web site called "Is It Proper to Worship Jesus".

In this article they state that when Jesus was worshiped it was not the same as the worship of God. They used Satan's old trick of telling some truth mixed with a lie.

Here is the truth...
The Greek word for worship is "proskuneō"as the JW's correctly stated.

"proskuneō" (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand); to fawn or crouch to, that is, (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore): - worship.

One of it's meaning as you can see for yourself is kiss the hand and the JW's claim that is what was meant when that word was used when worshiping Jesus.

Here is the lie...
They have implied that a different Greek word was used when God Almighty was worshiped. That is not true, as that same Greek word for worship is used throughout the New Testament. They know that most JW's will not bother to find out what Greek word was used when God Almighty was worshiped, hence they will fall for the lie.

The point is only the followers of the JW's are actually deceived, but the leaders are internationally lying to the followers.

The Jehovahs witnesses are like P Diddy , you just got to tell them no !!!!!!!

You argue scripture with these people logically, then they keep coming back to your house with reinforcements until eventually the whole church is at your house trying to use lame arguments as to why their beliefs are right

From the New World Translation Bible of JW...

27 Next he said to Thomas: “Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop doubting* but believe.” 28 In answer Thomas said to him: “My Lord and my God!"
John 20:27-28

While that is a good verse my JW relatives could care less about reason or truth. They believe that the JW Cult works for them in this world which is what they are most concerned about. In my sister's case, the JW Cult is like her family which she will never leave. I have shared many things with her and her family that they have no answer for, but that does not matter to them. At this point my only hope is prayer. If that does not work, I guess they will have to get saved in the Tribulation. :noidea:

I got this directly out of the Jehovah's Witnesses Web site as Number 9 of what they believe.

"9. Death. People who die pass out of existence. (Psalm 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10) They do not suffer in a fiery hell of torment.

God will bring billions back from death by means of a resurrection. (Acts 24:15) However, those who refuse to learn God’s ways after being raised to life will be destroyed forever with no hope of a resurrection.—Revelation 20:14, 15."

This is not logical. They say those who die pass out of existence. Then they say billions are brought back from death. If they no longer exist, how can they be brought back? They could be created again, but not brought back.

You see the Bible does not contradict itself which is why you can't change it or what it means without causing contradictions. It is kind of like a safety mechanism. If the Bible you read or the explanation of the Bible you read has any contradictions,
don't believe it!
