Iran vs. US war in hours? Trump’s ‘ready to negotiate’

Found this an Interesting observation

Same words. Same situation. Twice now — nearly a year apart — President Donald Trump has said the exact same thing: ‘We are ready to negotiate with Iran.’But in both cases, that offer came right before — or right alongside — military threats and explosions. And that’s what we’re unpacking today: How a promise of talks became part of a nuclear ultimatum.Let’s start with June 2025. Hours before the United States, alongside Israel, launched devastating strikes on Iran’s nuclear program — hitting facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — Trump publicly said the U.S. was ‘ready to negotiate with Iran.’

Today — January 28, 2026 — Trump used almost the same language again. Once more, he said the U.S. was ‘ready to negotiate with Iran’ on a deal that would prevent Tehran from building nuclear weapons. But this time, it came wrapped in a blunt ultimatum: agree to a deal — or face a U.S. attack ‘far worse’ than last year’s strikes.

Maybe.

This today from American media:

"White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told ABC News' Rachel Scott that upcoming talks between the U.S. and Iran remain scheduled despite Tuesday's incidents.
'I just spoke with special envoy [Steve] Witkoff, and these talks, as of right now, are still scheduled,' she said. 'President Trump is always wanting to pursue diplomacy first, but obviously it takes two to tango. You need a willing partner to achieve diplomacy, and that's something that special envoy Witkoff is intent on exploring and discussing. As always though, of course, the president has a range of options on the table with respect to Iran as commander in chief.' "

I guess we'll see. Help was supposed to be on the way, but the stories coming out of Iran are way beyond horrific. What is it about that country that makes presidents want to appease and negotiate? The Persian people are finding out just like the Kurds did that they don't really matter. I hope I'm wrong, but I trust Witkoff about as much as I did Antony Blinken.

They also tried to hijack a U.S. tanker, but failed. 6 gun boats ordered the tanker to stop engines and get ready to be boarded, but the tanker sped up and the Navy escorted from there.
Its funny how the sudden presence of a US Navy ship of war can change the actions of those testing the waters.

We own the sea and the air, and there is very little Iran can do to stop the US and IDF if Trump decides to give the order to attack.

May God protect his faithful remnant in Iran and then bombs away on those other snakes!!!

Need to scroll to get to the post as it's sort of live news

Agree. These Iranians will never agree to any peace. Their goals haven’t changed - annihilating Israel and forcing others to bend the knee to their false “god.”

I will say it again….you can take my life, but my soul belongs to the Lord!
