Iran officially exits nuclear deal, declares end to all 2015 restrictions

Iran has formally declared the death of the 2015 nuclear deal, announcing Saturday that it is no longer bound by any of the agreement’s restrictions on uranium enrichment, weapons development, or nuclear oversight.

“All of the [2015 deal] provisions… are considered terminated,” the Iranian foreign ministry stated, as reported by AFP.

With that sentence, the final threads of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)—once heralded as a diplomatic triumph—have been cut by the regime that never intended to abide by them in the first place.

The bottom line is Iran continues to work towards having nuclear bombs. The only difference is they're not pretending that's not the case anymore.

Forgive my ditz, but why are they emboldened?

I don't know if emboldened is what they are, they're simply choosing not to hide what they're doing anymore. Maybe because trying to hide it didn't do them any good in the end.

By my own way of thinking, the attack on them underscores a reason to have nuclear weapons for their own protection while their threatening Israel and the USA is legitimate reason for either of those two nations to bomb their nuclear related facilities whenever they feel the need to for their own protection.
