Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
Insulting God
Troy was so happy to hear that Uncle Jonny was coming to visit. Uncle Jonny was a very nice man and always brought Jonny a gift when he came. When Uncle Jonny arrived the first thing Troy asked is “What have you brought me Uncle Jonny”? To Troy’s joy, Uncle Jonny had brought Troy a bottle rocket as a gift. Troy immediately ran outside and started playing with the rocket.
Troy’s mom was very strict and disciplined and had made it a point to teach Troy good manners. She was very upset that Troy had run out of the house without saying so much as a thank you to Uncle Jonny. As soon as she was able, she politely excused herself and went outside to speak with Troy.
“Troy come over here right now!” said Troy’s mom. Troy knew he must be in trouble, but was unsure of what he had done. Troy’s mom said “I can’t believe how rude and ungrateful you were to Uncle Jonny!” “I want you to march back into the house and go thank Uncle Jonny for the gift he gave you or he will take it back!”
“Take it back! Uncle Jonny?” Troy exclaimed. “Are you saying that Uncle Jonny is untrustworthy?” “I can understand you being mad at me because of my bad manners and even punishing me, but why insult Uncle Jonny?” “Uncle Jonny has never been anything but good, loving and truthful with us.”
This completely took Troy’s mom by surprise. But as she thought about it she realized that Troy was right. Uncle Jonny had given her son a gift. A gift should never be taken back under any circumstances unless the giver is dishonest. Well Uncle Jonny was anything but dishonest! But she was implying to her son that he was.
Troy’s mom further thought that her son should be thankful for the gift and if not should be punished. But the punishment should not be to take away the gift. So Troy’s mom told Troy to go to his room until she called him, but could keep the gift. Troy was sad but accepted his punishment as fair and was very happy that he could still trust and rely on Uncle Jonny!
Romans 5:15 - But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many
Romans 5:16 - And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Please don’t insult God!
