IDF goes on high alert, prepares for resumption of war after Trump announces naval blockade of Iran

The Israel Defense Forces went on high alert Sunday afternoon, following the collapse of the ceasefire talks between the United States and Iran in Pakistan over the weekend, along with U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a dramatic statement, Trump wrote on Truth Social that “effective immediately,” the U.S. Navy would “begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz.”

Shortly afterward, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir instructed the military to prepare for a possible renewed confrontation with Iran, including scenarios in which Iran could initiate a first strike, according to reports by Ynet News and Maariv.

“We are prepared for a renewal of the fighting both defensively and offensively. We are waiting for instructions from the political echelon,” a military source told Maariv.

Kan News cited a senior security official who said, “Israel is interested in renewing the war against Iran – and is waiting for a decision from Donald Trump.”

The president didn’t comment on the potential renewal or war, writing on Truth Social that “at an appropriate moment, we are fully ‘LOCKED AND LOADED,’ and our Military will finish up the little that is left of Iran.”

According to Ynet, the IDF has reactivated the same framework as it did before Operations Rising Lion and Roaring Lion, raising readiness across all IDF branches, shortening response times, and closing operational gaps to ensure readiness for immediate action.

Ynet also reported that the IDF and U.S. Central Command continue close coordination, while expecting any military action to be communicated between the governments in Jerusalem and Washington.

Israeli officials expressed no surprise at the failure of the talks, according to Ynet, and added that they were satisfied with the U.S. position that no deal is preferable to a bad agreement with the regime.

Israel was also updated ahead of Trump’s announcement about a naval blockade, i24 News reported.

Speaking to reporters before the U.S. delegation departed Islamabad, Pakistan, Vice President JD Vance warned that the lack of an agreement is “bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news” for the United States.

In two long posts on Truth Social, Trump explained that there was agreement on “most points” except for the “only point that really mattered, NUCLEAR.”

As part of the blockade, Trump said he instructed the U.S. Navy “to seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran. No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas.”

“We will also begin destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits. Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!”

In a follow-up post, Trump said the “anxiety, dislocation, and pain to many people and Countries throughout the World” caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz stemmed from the regime’s claim that it had mined the waterway.

“They say they put mines in the water, even though all of their Navy, and most of their “mine droppers,” have been completely blown up. They may have done so, but what ship owner would want to take the chance?”

However, Trump closed by emphasizing that the most important goal for the U.S. remains to end the regime’s nuclear program: “There is only one thing that matters – IRAN IS UNWILLING TO GIVE UP ITS NUCLEAR AMBITIONS!”

Trump stressed this point during an interview with the Fox Business Channel later on Sunday.

“I predict they come back and give us everything we want… I don’t want 95 percent. I told them. I want everything.” He also vowed that the blockade would start “in a little while, but it’ll be effective pretty soon.”

“We’re going to clean out the strait,” he promised, “They’re not going to be able to use the strait in not too long a distance.”

The blockade has begun. It will certainly impact Iran's economy, and the nations who depend on getting their oil from Iran will be impacted. China gets it's oil from Iran. China's economy is already in a fragile state, and not getting it's imported oil from Iran will further strain China's economy. We can say good. But we should consider that the US has not redirected our much needed imported manufactured goods away from China to other sources yet. An economic collapse in China will impact the US unless we quickly make that redirection of manufactured imported goods. Keep in mind that Crude Oil is used for more than gas for cars and fuel for aircraft. Oil is needed for many day to day necessary things. Keep praying over the situation in the Middle East as it affects even more than the economy🙏

Crude Oil Products: Types, Uses, and Everyday Applications

Crude oil, also known as petroleum, is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons. When it is processed in oil refineries, it is separated into various products, each with a unique boiling point and chemical composition. The number of products derived from crude oil is vast, with some sources claiming over 6,000 everyday items are made from it. These products can be broadly categorized into a few main types.

  • Gasoline (Petrol): Used as fuel for cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles.
  • Diesel: Powers heavy-duty vehicles like trucks, buses, and some ships, as well as being used for electricity generation in some areas.
  • Jet Fuel (Kerosene-type): Essential for powering aircraft.
  • Heating Oil (Distillate Fuel Oil): Used to heat homes and commercial buildings.
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG): Includes propane and butane, used for cooking, home heating, and as a fuel for some vehicles

  • Lubricants: Motor oil, bearing grease, and other lubricants are made from refined petroleum to reduce friction in machinery.
  • Paraffin Wax: Used in candles, cosmetics, food-grade coatings (e.g., on some cheeses and fruits), and various other products.
  • Petroleum Jelly: A well-known by-product used in skin care products and topical medications.

  • Asphalt (Bitumen): A heavy, sticky byproduct used for paving roads, roofing, and waterproofing.
  • Solvents: Used in industrial processes, cleaning products, paints, and inks.
  • Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics: Crude oil derivatives are found in a wide range of products, including aspirin, anesthetics, perfumes, dyes, and many creams and lotions

Trump will allow all ships to pass through the strait as long as they did not pay Iran any money for the passage. China will get its oil.

Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated - 158 ships. What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, “fast attack ships,” because we did not consider them much of a threat. Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea. It is quick and brutal. P.S. 98.2% of Drugs coming into the U.S. by Ocean or Sea have STOPPED! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT

Context is key - he is talking about Irans ships, not civilian ships.

Im sorry Andy but its not only Iran's ships .....

The blockade poses a particularly acute dilemma for Trump regarding China. Approximately 45% of China's oil imports from Gulf states pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and before the war, China purchased roughly 90% of Iran's oil – accounting for an estimated 13% of China's total oil imports. Despite China's large reserves and its ability to use coal and alternative technologies, the energy shortage has already prompted Beijing to order refineries on its territory to limit fuel exports. Trump is set to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing in roughly a month, and the Financial Times asked Monday, "What will the US do – seize a Chinese tanker? And what will the Chinese do?"

Starting at 5:00 p.m. today (Monday), U.S. Central Command has begun implementing a full maritime blockade on all sea traffic entering and leaving Iran’s ports.

Official: US Naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz begins

Do you really believe it is US policy that our military will eliminate any ship from another country? Really? Thats not what Trump said, and having a policy you seem to believe would trigger a global war.

My recommendation would be to check your sources

I have made it my practice that while I may share news reports, to not believe anything I read or hear from any source, but to watch and see what happens because Im not there to witness anything nor can I read the mind or heart of a person. So, I just watch and wait to see what happens.

Yes, nowadays thats really all we can do, with most news sites printing multiple false stories in an attempt to make our administration look like the guilty party.

From CENTCOM

U.S. to Blockade Ships Entering or Exiting Iranian Ports

TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on April 13 at 10 a.m. ET, in accordance with the President’s proclamation.

The blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports.

Additional information will be provided to commercial mariners through a formal notice prior to the start of the blockade. All mariners are advised to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and contact U.S. naval forces on bridge-to-bridge channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz approaches.

No resources will be allowed to be imported or exported from Iran.

I'm fairly confident they will not blow up ships carrying goods to and from China. But they will definitely stop and seize them while the blockage is in effect. Including tankers. Will China work through diplomatic channels to solve this? Or could they be desperate enough to choose armed conflict? I think they are too wise for that; they are not stupid like the Japanese government in the late 1930s.

I really like the actions of this blockade. It prevents Iran from making money off their oil, and will further help cripple an already on the last legs economy.

Great move by centcom in sending our two ships through the straits. It was almost as if they were daring Iran to fire at them. I wish they would have tried, because that would of triggered a scorched earth policy Trump had been hinting at before the ceasefire

If this ends up being more or less long term, it will ultimately affect every country in the world.

The shortage of fertilizer will decimate crop/food production and food will cost way more IF you can find it.

The higher gas prices globally will raise the cost of food and goods due to transportation costs.

And, if you can't grow feed for cattle, chickens, etc. there will be no beef, pork, chicken to buy at the store.

When/IF this happens come back here and share your thoughts about it again, when it's affecting your families.

This has really opened up a HUGE can of worms for everyone!

I would argue that Iran with a nuclear weapon trumps (no pun intended) everything else. A nuclear Iran would be an immediate existential threat to every country in the world, beginning with Israel and the United States. Even though I've always appreciated the fact that Trump has ended wars not started them, upon sober reflection, I think this one was necessary. I hate war; always have. But sometimes, very rarely, we are left with no option. This is one of those very rare occasions. Just as in 1939 and 1941.

Then either way, for whatever reason, our world is in grave danger, right?
-OR-

We're seeing the setup for the tribulation, and an antiChrist that will ride in and save the day. Imagine what happens if Christians are raptured during (or just after) this. The US is gutted, huge power vacuum. Israel has no real friends. I heard someone mention that agricultural products would be affected across the board, except for those crops that are already established, like grapes and olives, and I immediately thought of Rev. 6:6.

The world's not falling apart, it's falling in to place.
