Denmark Prime Minister: ‘The US Has No Right to Annex’ Greenland

Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has pushed back forcefully against President Donald Trump’s renewed talk of taking control of Greenland, telling him to “stop the threats” and rejecting any suggestion that the United States has a claim to the territory.

Speaking to the BBC on Sunday, Frederiksen said it made “absolutely no sense” to argue that the U.S. needs to take over Greenland, stressing that Washington has “no right to annex any of the three nations in the Danish kingdom.

Her remarks came after Trump, following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces, on Saturday again raised the idea of acquiring Greenland.

In a phone interview with The Atlantic on Sunday, Trump said he remained committed to the idea, saying the island is “surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships” and declaring, “We do need Greenland, absolutely. We need it for defense.”

Frederiksen’s remarks come days after Trump escalated his campaign to claim Greenland as U.S. territory by appointing Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as a special envoy, while figures close to the Trump administration shared posts suggesting that a U.S. takeover was imminent.

A 2025 Intelligence Assessment by the government of Denmark highlights the long term Russian and Chinese 'threat' in Arctic waters, at a moment Greenland officials have rejected the US assertion that the large resource-rich island and its waters are being gradually influenced and taken over by the Russia/China 'menace'.

Trump has recently stated, "We need that because if you take a look outside of Greenland right now, there are Russian destroyers, there are Chinese destroyers and, bigger, there are Russian submarines all over the place. We’re not gonna have Russia or China occupy Greenland, and that’s what they’re going to do if we don’t."

Not too concerned- the general tariff was already in that ballpark if I recall, although it goes up and down regularly. Probably just another bargaining chip on the table.

Greenland from a Biblical prophecy view point (and this is my opinion only and just an opinion)

is being used to shove a collective stick of dynamite up the collective rear ends of the entire EU to shift into high gear and get it together in advance of the Tribulation when Rome 2.0 is actually going to have to be a real tool for the enemy (using his sock puppet the AC).

Right now they are a laughing stock, not a tool.

Trump is assisting the process. As he tends to do.

As a Canadian, and someone who views national borders and boundaries as a good thing (think of me saying this in Martha Stewart's voice- "a good thing!") I highly object to threatening an ally and a NATO partner.

But as a Bible believer expecting things to go towards Rome 2.0 over in la la land in Europe, I'm quite sure this plays a pretty good role in shoving things along.

I call it Trump's "Bring On the Apocalypse Dance" and he is doing an excellent job getting all the pieces on the chess board into their starting positions ready for that starter pistol.

However other opinions may vary.

But personally I'm saying Maranatha and getting ready for however long that takes.

I think over the next 3 years of Trump's term they will at least make an attempt.

Makes it even more obvious why he wasn't allowed his second term immediately after the first. Gives the world a little more time for salvation before all the chess pieces are in place.
