'Day of Repentance': Israel strikes multiple targets across Iran in retaliatory strikes

The attack occurred in three major waves, with the second and third waves targeting Iranian drone and missile production sites, hitting over 20 targets.

Israel confirmed it had struck numerous military sites during its retaliatory strikes on Iran on Saturday. The attack was declared over by 5:45 a.m., just as the sun began rising over Tehran, according to public broadcaster KAN11.

The attack occurred in three major waves, US and Israeli officials said. The second and third waves targeted Iranian drone and missile production sites, hitting over 20 targets, according to Axios and the New York Times.

Iran told AFP that it had not received any reports of injuries from the strikes.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant was directing the attacks from a secure complex in IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media.

A historic humiliation: Israel’s precision strikes leave Iran defenseless - comment
As dawn broke over Tehran today, it wasn't the usual hum of a busy city greeting the morning. Instead, the reverberations of precision strikes echoed across Iran’s strategic landscape. You could almost picture the startled faces behind closed doors in Iran’s power centers, scrambling to understand how Israel managed to pull off an operation so audacious, so brazen, and yet so meticulously calculated.

For over three hours, Israel has been striking with unprecedented precision, unmasking a simple truth: Tehran, for all its bluster, isn’t untouchable. You can almost feel the tectonic plates shifting under Iran’s feet as the “regional power” finds itself reeling, looking a lot less like the force it projects to the world and a lot more like Hezbollah, scrambling to avoid the light.

Imagine the dilemma for Iran’s leadership – retaliate and risk a spiral that might burn everything it’s built, or stay silent and let Israel’s quiet triumph ring louder. Either way, Iran is backed into a corner of its own making. A response would almost certainly turn Tel Aviv into a potential target, but after tonight, Iran knows that Israel can just as easily reach Tehran. This isn’t a vague threat; it’s a promise that’s landed, with clarity and force, right on their doorstep.

Video recorded during 3rd wave of the Israeli airstrikes at Iran shows the moment that the reentry vehicle of an Israeli Blue Sparrow ballistic missile hit a target.

This Israeli missile hit one of the ballistic missile production sites of the Iranian MODAFL in Khojir, East of Tehran.

The MODAFL is Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics. This is the defense ministry of Iran and part of the country's executive branch. It reports to the President of Iran, and not to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces.

So this was a VERY strategic site that Israel hit tonight.

Hagari says aims of attack ‘achieved,’ warns Iran that Israel can hit ‘additional targets’

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the goals of the overnight attack on Iran were achieved successfully.
“The reprisal strike was completed, and its objectives were achieved,” Hagari says in a press conference.

The IDF strike targeted Iranian missile manufacturing sites and air defense batteries, in response to Iran’s direct attacks on Israel earlier this month and in April, as well as continuous attacks by its proxies across the Middle East.

“Now, Israel has wider freedom of action also in Iran. Iran struck Israel twice… and has paid the price for that,” he says.
“We are focused on the goals of the war in Gaza and Lebanon. It is Iran that continues to push for a wide regional escalation,” Hagari says.
He says the targets that were hit in Iran overnight were selected from a “wide bank of targets.”

*** Amir just posted this but I didn't know where to post it.
Earthquake????

Unusual alerts from the Home Front Command about an earthquake throughout the northern Israel

The explanation for the false alarm:
IDF forces blew up an enemy compound, following the detonation of a very large amount of explosives in Lebanon

An Israeli official told the IDF: "We inflicted significant damage on Iran's ballistic missile production facilities, and destroyed a number of air defense systems. The Iranians failed to carry out significant interceptions - the mission was completed and carried out in full."

IDF spokesman, Lt. Col. Daniel Hagari for foreign media:

I can now confirm that we have completed the Israeli response to Iran's attacks against Israel.

We carried out targeted and precise strikes against military targets in Iran - and thwarted immediate threats to the State of Israel.

The IDF mission was completed.

If the regime in Iran makes the mistake and starts a new round of escalation - we will be obliged to respond.

Our message is clear: anyone who threatens the State of Israel and strives to drag the region into a wider escalation will pay a heavy price.

We proved today that we have the ability to act decisively, and that we are ready, in attack and defense, to defend the State of Israel and the citizens of Israel.

Is it just me, or does it feel like more and more we’re all being “played?” 🤡

Axios is reporting that Israel sent message to Iran ahead of attack and warned against response.

"The Israelis made it clear to the Iranians in advance what they are going to attack in general and what they are not going to attack," one source told Axios.

2 sources reported that Israel warned Iran not to retaliate, stating that any response, especially one harming Israeli civilians, would prompt a larger and more forceful Israeli attack.

IF Israel really told Iran what they were going to hit, it was only as a goodwill gesture to prevent a major Iranian response.

It appears that Israel responded in like manner, as Iran 🇮🇷 targeted Israeli military facilities on October 1st, and Israel did their version of targeting “Iranian military facilities” tonight as Israel’s “big response.”

Scoop: Israel sent message to Iran ahead of attack and warned against response

Israel sent a message to Iran on Friday ahead of its retaliatory airstrikes warning the Iranians not to respond, three sources with knowledge of the issue told Axios.

Why it matters: The Israeli message was an attempt to limit the ongoing exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran and prevent a wider escalation, the sources said.

Driving the news: U.S. and Israeli officials said three waves of airstrikes took place on Saturday morning local time.

The first wave focused on Iran's air defense system and the second and third waves focused on missile and drone bases and weapons' productions sites.
Iran said it defeated the Israeli attack and that only "limited damage" was done to military targets around the country.
Israeli officials said the attack was in retaliation for Iran's massive ballistic missile attack on October 1.
Behind the scenes: The Israeli message was conveyed to the Iranians through several third parties, the sources said.

"The Israelis made it clear to the Iranians in advance what they are going to attack in general and what they are not going to attack," one source told Axios.
Two other sources said Israel warned the Iranians not to respond to the attack and stressed that if Iran does retaliate, Israel would conduct another more significant attack, especially if Israeli civilians are killed or injured.

The way it's being told seems like this came about from the visit Blinken made and there must have been an agreement made about a limited attack to avoid escalation. That sure sounds like something Blinken would say to Natenyahu and Gallant.
I sure hope Israel isn't still caving to pressure 🙏

This is so "funny".

Iran says, there were no attacks, let alone Israeli attacks.
Saudi Arabia condems the attacks, whomever did it.
Hamas condemns the Israeli attacks on Iranian soil.
