CNN: “The Rise of Christian Nationalism” premiering Sunday, February 22 at 8pm ET/PT.

LydiaJoy

Well-known
In this hour, Brown examines the growing influence of Christian nationalism, an ideology rooted in the belief that the United States was founded as a Christian nation and that its laws and institutions should reflect Christian values. Through immersive reporting and on-the-ground access, the episode explores how a movement once largely confined to the margins of white evangelical culture has gained new visibility and political power.

In “The Rise of Christian Nationalism,” Brown travels to faith-centered communities where Christian nationalist ideas shape daily life, education, and governance. She sits down with prominent religious leaders who have helped build networks of churches and schools designed to instill a strict, literal interpretation of the Bible. She also speaks with women who are former church members, sharing accounts of religious trauma, rigid gender roles, and in some cases, abuse within Christian nationalist communities.

Sounds to me like an opportunity to bash Christians by focusing on bad actors and lumping us all together. I can just see the atheists foaming at the mouth to report this.

I would agree. I think they are trying to connect the Christian Nationalist movement with MAGA to demonize the Trump supporters. The recent MAGA movement started by Trump will continue long after he is gone. Trump didn't really start the movement, it has always been there from the founding of the nation. Trump has just revived it, and the liberals/globalists will do anything to stop it. We know eventually the globalists will win, but maybe we can delay it a while longer. The mid-terms will tell; a slide to the left will stop the MAGA agenda, and most likely set the stage for a all out defeat in 2028. A mid-term win for the right may just allow enough time to codify many new voting and immigration laws to maintain the movement for another decade. Who knows what will happen?? Satan will never give up, he knows his time is short, he will get more and more desperate the closer we get to the rapture.

In the 90's when I was homeschooling the kids, I bumped into the 7 mountain mandate, which was a key part of NAR as well as other groups that have gone on to create things like Bethel Redding, Hillsong etc. They all have roots in the Latter Rain movement, a heretical group that ended up influencing a lot of charismatic churches and gave rise to things like the "Toronto Blessing" and Todd Bentley in Florida. It spread like wildfire. Often goes hand in hand with prosperity gospel stuff.

At the same time I observed the rise of the neo Calvinist groups that were teaching Rushdoony's stuff. Young Restless and Reformed movement grew out of this. And I watched as the new Calvinists began to infiltrate ordinary dispensational churches replacing the blessed hope of the Rapture, the pre Trib pre Mil teaching with an Amillennial view that spiritualized everything or a Dominion view where the church thru works takes over the world and hands it to Jesus who CAN'T come back until the church does this essential task (in their view)

Both groups had a weird alliance. They weren't inclined towards each other but they BOTH taught Dominion Theology which essentially teaches that the church in the end must dominate the world.

Especially politically.

Part of the 7 mountain mandate, part of the Dominionist theology, and it was set to infiltrate all kinds of "spheres" including govt.

You've all heard of Paula White. SHE IS AN OUTGROWTH OF THIS! As soon as she appeared on the scene I recognized what her belief system was. I'd seen it before!!!

I didn't bother looking at this CNN article because this does exist. I'm sure CNN put an anti MAGA or anti Trump spin on it, but the fact remains that these people have been active for over 35 years that I'm aware of, and they do want to control power

Because their theology, their eschatology (understanding of end times) means that the church takes over the world, brings it under their control by force, and enforces good behaviour on the heathen, if they won't submit by becoming Christians - and remember their version of being Christian is a bit off too- then they will submit by force.

They do that because in their view of end times, the CHURCH dominates the world, and only when they do THAT, can Jesus come back. They essentially grab the power, stomp out resistance, and hand the world to Jesus who CAN'T come back until this task is complete.

Over the years I've seen main stream media become aware of this movement, get alarmed, write a few articles and then forget about it (short attention spans).

Don't get too bent out of shape that they view us as evil, or that they see Christians in politics as something out of the horror film/book The Handmaid's Tale because that is what they see.

They don't differentiate between this counterfeit of Christians that want to dominate by force and us.

This is in complete disconnect from scripture, especially Revelation. It's pretty clear it's Jesus Christ alone who personally deals with the evil in the world. A world where sin so permeates, it will take a supernatural intervention of God to eradicate. Any human who thinks they're going to take this world system completely down are leaning on their very faulty and limited understanding, instead of looking to God and His Word for His superior understanding, who's thoughts are far above the heavens and who's mightiest angels stand in awe of Him.

Scripture is clear, the only one who has the power and authority to deal with the antichrist, supernatually possessed by Satan, will be another far superior, supernatural deliverer, God the Son, Lord of Heaven's armies. Humanity is absolutely impotent otherwise.

Thus the call to humbly repent of sin and place faith in this deliverer, Jesus Christ. It's only in Christ that anyone will be shielded from an even greater danger than satan and his puppet, the antichrist.

That danger? The wrath of God against all that opposes Him, and opposes all that is good and right.

Revelation clearly spells this out, as well as the prophets. Zechariah is a great companion book to Revelation, with chapters 5-6 showing this serious issue clearly.

Its counterfeit Christianity in action.

Either we lean on Christ alone or some version of works. They lean on works. Like every cult does. They must add to or take away from Christ's finished work.

It's part and parcel of the end times apostasy rising in front of us.

Does this sound very much like the theology of another religious group in this world? Just substitute the word Islam for "the church" and the word "Muslims" for "Christians".

Which should tell us exactly the source of this theology.

Father of Lies at work again!

We accept Christ's blood to atone for us for all time and eternity taking HIM as Lord and King, OR there will be blood shed up to the horses bridles. There is no middle ground. All the "alternatives" and compromises outside the blood of Christ, that the enemy puts forth, end in bloody horrors and the Tribulation.
