Secular news publication warns that Christian nationalists may be threatening to turn the US into a “religious state”

The pastor lights his cigar as he sits down on the sofa, casting the lit match aside. The floral upholstery starts to burn, the flames get bigger.

"It's not the job of the preacher to be a firefighter," Doug Wilson says, as the fire spreads. "We're supposed to be arsonists in the world."

Wilson leads a church in Moscow, Idaho. It's a small city nestled beside mountains and surrounded by green, home to the University of Idaho. It voted for Joe Biden in 2020.

But Wilson, who opposes same sex marriage and rails against the Pride flag, wants to turn Moscow into a "Christian town".

Stirring across America is a movement focused on tearing down the wall separating church and state. Conservative Christians are moving to remote states to live a rural life according to their values.

A real-estate company in Idaho that sells survival homes to such people offers buyers an AR-15 rifle as a "closing gift".

Christian nationalism is the belief that America should be governed as a Christian nation according to faith.

While it is not a new concept, some experts argue it has gone from a fringe ideology to a force in Donald Trump's Republican party and is now a threat to the very fabric of American democracy.

One professor said the movement uses Christian ideals to mask racist ideas, but others say the Christian nationalist label is simply used to dismiss any Christians who want to be involved in politics.

More than half of Republicans are at least sympathetic to Christian nationalist ideas, according to a recent survey.

Religious leaders like controversial pastor Wilson and political actors like ex-Trump national security advisor Mike Flynn are considered key figures in the movement.

I couldn't decide where to post the article above but since it involves the US I put it under US.

I want to address something.
My intent is not to cause fear, as we know what scripture says about fear.....it is a snare and we do not have a Spirit of fear but of power, love, and sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

Please don't be upset with me for this post. I love you and care for you and want you all to be prepared for what's coming and to Trust in our Faithful God completely.

I believe we must be prepared for what's inevitably coming.
Keep in mind that our Beloved brethren in many parts of the world have been under persecution for their faith, and the vast majority of Western nations have had little of it only due to constitutional rights to express our faith, in the US it's the First Amendment.

No one can deny America is no longer a free nation as it has been taken over by a rogue regime bent on destroying our constitution.
This is an obvious fact we cannot be blind to.

After reading the above article, it became clear what's happening here. This misrepresentation of who Christians are is being broad brushed because of the fake "Christians" out there going under the name of Christ Jesus and having a form of godliness, but not having the power behind it, and this is prophetic of the last days.

Due to this broad brushed picture of Christians being framed as "Christian Nationalists ", and this kind of false description of true Christians puts a target on us.
This is being circulated in a public magazine and the misrepresentation of Believers is going to spread and it is not going to result in anything good. Just that this false picture of Christians is being publicly circulated and taught in Universities is problematic.
This is to be taken seriously.

Some of what we hold to in our faith is mentioned in this article but is being misinterpreted.

Keep in mind we are in the last days and while waiting to be caught up to meet Jesus in the air, it's probable we will come face to face with persecution in America and the stage is being set as our nation erodes from it's freedoms.

As noted, this is not to cause fear but to prepare for what's coming. To prepare for what Jesus said would happen, not could happen but would happen and no one wants to know this but in Jesus love told us ahead of time it would happen.
Jesus said we would go through tribulation, but not The Tribulation.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world"
John 16:33

"Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution"
2 Timothy 3:12

"And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved"
Matthew 10:22

On our part, we prepare by drawing ever closer to God and build our trust in Him
Read Psalm 91 regularly.
Pray unceasingly
Stay engaged in God's Word and with The Lord in regular fellowship with Him.
Stay in fellowship with like minded believers and continue to encourage one another as we are told reminding one another of all of God's promises in Christ Jesus that are Yes and Amen.
2 Corinthians 1:20

We are going home and we know the time is closer than ever to be snatched away from this godless wicked world.

"If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you"
John 15:19

"Strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God"
Acts 14:22

"Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours".
John 15:20

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:35-39

*****Ending on a positive word....
Keep focused on Jesus and hold fast to our blessed hope. Jesus is coming and He Is coming soon!.***

"while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ"
Titus 2:13

"For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”
Hebrews 10:37

"He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.!"
Revelation 22:20

I was also concerned about this “target” on us born again believers when I started seeing articles like this. It’s coming. What “it” will be won’t be anywhere near what North Korea experiences so it’s good if we keep it in perspective.
