California Legislator Introduces Bill to Gut Self-Defense Protections for Citizens

Government - any government, at any level - in a constitutional republic like ours has but one purpose: To protect the liberty and property of its citizens. But agents of government can't be everywhere, and so the citizens have the right to defend their own liberty and property. In the United States, that right is enshrined in and recognized by the Second Amendment.

This bill would endanger the people of California and embolden criminals. It's a travesty. It should never become law. Sadly, these days, in California, it may actually pass.

Of course, TPTB have their taxpayer-paid security systems and armed teams, so they have no fears for themselves or their families.

They don't have to ride mass transit, live or work in unsafe, or merely "usually safe" places, or do mundane things like go to the bank or get groceries without a trained, heavily armed escort(s).

People Outraged After California Democrat Introduces Bill that Criminalizes Self-Defense – AB 1333 Limits Homeowner’s Right to Defend Self, Family and Home From Intruder

California is currently a ‘stand your ground’ state, however, a Democrat Assemblyman just introduced a bill that would criminalize self-defense.

California Assemblyman and Democrat Caucus Chair Rich Chavez Zbur introduced AB 1333 which seeks to limit a homeowner’s right to defend their family and home from an intruder.

Republican California Assemblyman David Tangipa blasted Zbur’s insane proposed legislation.

“How do you know if a robber or burglar is intending to kill?” David Tangipa said on the Ray Appleton show.

People were outraged over this bill.......

Bet the person, who introduced this, has armed security, paid for by the taxpayers, and lives in a very safe neighborhood with top-of-the-line locks and a fence or secured building, with a really good alarm system, again, paid for by the taxpayers. Bet this person doesn't have to ride mass transit or walk through "iffy" or dangerous areas, either. Bet this person has never had a family member raped, robbed, or murdered, either.

So disturbing to realize that California is under the control of Tyrants with no respect for the Constitution of the United States.
No wonder they want to succeed from the Union.
Hopefully its also a good time to turn Red. lol...there is actually an emoji for prayer beads? lol. Anywayz...i understand CA is the liberal mission for the US of A to be like. So yeah instead of Escape from Los Angeles, instead of it being an institutionalized open prison, maybe we can make it R E D :)

CA Democrat Withdraws His Own Anti-Self Defense Bill in State Assembly

In a victory for common sense, human rights, and the Second Amendment, a California Democrat assemblyman, Rick Zbur, has withdrawn his own bill, which would have gutted legal protections for innocent citizens who use force in self-defense.

The California Globe has more details on AB 1333:

Assemblyman Rick Zbur (D-Los Angeles) announced late on Wednesday that he would be withdrawing his new self-defense limitation bill following significant public backlash and confusing language in the bill.

Assembly Bill 1333, which was introduced last month, would have eliminated certain circumstances under which homicide is justifiable, including, among others, in defense of a habitation or property. The bill would have also additionally clarified circumstances in which homicide is not justifiable, including, among others, when a person uses more force than necessary to defend against a danger.

Zbur said that AB 1333 would simply close a “legal loophole” over public confrontations and then claiming self-defense. However, AB 1333 instead sparking public outrage. Many pointed out that the bill would severely limit self defense against crime and leave open questions into when homicide was and wasn’t legal.

In non-political speech, this law could have implemented serious legal dangers, with one GOP assemblyman calling it a "complete assault on self defense." Both Republicans and Democrats balked, forcing Zbur to withdraw the bill:

“This bill is a complete assault on self defense!” said Assemblyman Tom Lackey (R-Palmdale) last month. “Imagine this: A violent criminal breaks into your home, and YOU have to second-guess whether defending your family is ‘justifiable.’ The misguided energy behind this proposal is beyond comprehension.”

Flooded with criticism from both Republicans and some Democrats, Zbur swiftly responded on X, saying that he wanted to target vigilantes and that AB 1333 would be amended soon to clarify the bill language.

I'm serious
The reason I say "lol" there though is not meant to convey less serious. Or even that Red has a place in comparison to the greater implications of our day. In that way it is kind of laughing at myself. Like me looking at the political temperature when looking at the spiritual is, amen, more important. So it is kind of laughing at myself. But I'll be honest. What I don't mean is that Red = Christian. What a do believe, is it very likely being an act of God. Something hugely controversial if it even makes the "controversial" category. For me, to see Make America Great Again is to see an act of God. This may prove to not be accurate. I know. But the thrill of its likelihood is brewing notheless. I don't mean this in a worship Trump sense though. I just think the irony of a syphoned America for decades. And an America that least likely to make prophecy so it seems these days, just might become one of the biggest end time prophetic ingredients in age of grace end time eschatology. And if this becomes true, it is an amazing thing to behold. So when I think of that, at least for now, I am thinking of the spirit of prophecy, Jesus (Rev 19:10). By that I don't expect others to share in that take. Amen. But that, for me, is part of why I would also laugh...at my self...seriously. :) Blessings dear sister.

You're fine. I respect your thoughts. There's no criticism here.
I just give my thoughts.
For me, my priority is spiritual, because this isn't my home.
My home is in Heaven, and I am here just passing through, but that's where my thoughts are.
I trust God to provide for every need, and I know that He is in Control, and nothing happens that He doesn't allow for His purpose. I already know how everything ends, and Glory to God for our King Jesus.
But again, that's just my thoughts.
I really do think we need more hearts to turn to Jesus, far more than more Red in the States.
More Blue States having hearts turning to Jesus would be awesome too. 😊
