Betty's "Thoughts from my heart"

October 6,2025

Happy Monday,

Hubby passed away August 16,2025. I am still grieving. I have OA, fibro, and COPD.

I am in physical pain every day. I suffer from anxiety. There are days I do not want to leave the house.

Yet I find comfort in my family, my Church family, and watching good preaching and Bible teaching on YTube,

God is good even when our situation is not the best. God never promised our world will be perfect but He promised to always be with us.

Maranatha,

Betty

It does hurt!

And you are right, God is good even when the situation is rough, and He is with us thru it all.

Praying for you!

Friday,

We will have sorrows in our lifetime. We must choose how we will react to sorrow. We can grow angry and bitter or we can turn it over to God.

This does not mean we will not have days and nights of tears, but we will not be in the battle alone.

God will walk with us through the valley of death. He will never abandon us. We will be refreshed when we begin to pray for others,

We pray for others, not out of obligation, but out of love. Reminding ourselves that many times others prayed for us. When we realize praying for others is a privilege, then our prayer life will grow and so will out faith.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Monday,

Children of God

Daily Prayer for October 13
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" So through God you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then an heir. Galatians 4:6–7, RSV

Dear Father in heaven, we come before you as your children, longing to be assured through your Spirit that we are and may remain your children. We long to live to the glory of your name under the shelter and guidance of the Lord Jesus in expectation of the great day which shall fulfill all promises made to us. Strengthen us, especially in dark and troubled days. Help us when danger threatens and when evil tries to make headway among us. Deliver us from all evil, for yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen

I do not believe we will understand fully the significance of being children of God, until we enter into Heaven’s Gates. Then we will truly understand the cost Jesus paid for our salvation.

Praise God for the release of the hostages.
Maranatha,
Betty

Lord Help Me To Be Steadfast

Daily Prayer for October 17
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Romans 13:12, NIV

Father in heaven, we thank you for giving us light. We thank you for the great hope for a day whose light is not of our making, whose source is in you, a day to come that can touch our lives already today. Keep our hearts steadfast, free of all human wavering. May we always hold to the love you have given through your grace, and may we find joy in your love, which is full of light and understanding. Amen”
It is easy to be sidelined by life. We get too busy to read the Bible. Yet, when we make the time, we are rewarded by God. He gives us peace and joy. This does not means that we will not have times when we are sad.

I asked my nephew to drive me to the park where there are ducks. For many years my hubby and I went to this park. I shed a few tears but it was a blessing to relive memories of my hubby and me.

May God help us to keep our hearts and minds on Him. Please pray for my brother-in-law who had his neck operated on yesterday.
Maranatha,
Betty

Blessed Sunday,

Promise #299:

I watch over you and I listen for your prayers.
1 Peter 3:12 (WEB)

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

It is hard for me to comprehend that God can watch over each of His children at the same time. Yet, there is nothing that is impossible for God. He hears all of our prayers. He doesn't put any of us on hold.

We are all important to God. He cares about our desires and our needs. We are blessed beyond measure.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Wednesday,

“Live Holy And Godly Lives

What kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.
2 Peter 3:11-12

The world is becoming more and more wicked. In spite of this, God commands us to live Holy and Godly lives. We are to be God’s light in a world that is getting darker.

The devil is intensifying his attack on Christians. It is easy to become discouraged. Find renewal in reading God’s Word and singing praises to God. Pray for others, including lost souls. Worship God in spirit and truth.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Friday,

When The Devil Attacks

Yesterday, I woke up with my left eyelid swollen over the top of my eye. Today it is not swollen as badly but my eyelid is red. My Doctor is out of the Country so I cannot get a referral to an allergist.

My Church members are still under attack but we are still praying for revival. We know we must not give up. Even though we are in distress, God is with us.

When the devil attacks pray more. Reassure yourself of the many times God answered your prayers in the past. I have been watching Christian videos on YouTube to encourage myself. Remember God loves you.

Maranatha,

Betty

1 Samuel 30:6 ESV

And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

1 Peter 5:7 ESV

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Isaiah 41:10 ESV

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

John 16:33 ESV

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Philippians 4:13 ESV

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Isaiah 40:31 ESV

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Happy Saturday,

God Is Not Looking for Perfect People

Last night I was watching a video on being rapture-ready. When I went to go to sleep the devil began to mess with me. Whispering in my ear that I don't have a certain gift of the Spirit.

One of the videos was on the 10 virgins. I began to doubt whether I am truly rapture-ready. Yet, I know without a doubt I am saved. Yet the devil was trying to make me think I have to be perfect to go in the rapture.

I began to pray for God to search my heart of any hidden sin and convict me if He found any. God begin to fill my heart with calm assurance. Being rapture-ready is not about achieving perfection. It is walking daily with God, communicating daily with God in prayer, and looking forward with anticipation for the day we will be with God in Heaven.

The closer we get to God the more we long for the rapture just like a Bride anticipating her Wedding Day. We will be a part of a Wedding when the rapture takes place.

Maranatha,

Betty

“Made Perfect in Weakness
“For my power is made perfect in weakness.”
A primary qualification for serving God with any amount of success, and for doing God’s work well and triumphantly, is a sense of our own weakness. When God’s warrior marches out to battle, strong in his own might, when he boasts, “I know that I will overcome—my own ability and my self-confidence will be enough for victory,” defeat is staring him in the face.”

As we get older we are more aware of our weaknesses and our frailties. The devil is always pointing them out to us. But, God reminds us of how our faith and spirituality have grown through the years.

We are a stronger Christian in our 70’s than we were in our twenties. We have survived many trials and tribulations. Through these our trust in God has been strengthened.

We must not allow the devil to demean our confidence in God by pointing out our weaknesses.
Maranatha,
Betty

2 Corinthians 12:9
New International Version

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Happy Friday,

Sin Is Addictive

Sin does bring pleasure. Sin takes us further than we ever intended to go. When we live in constant Sin, we are getting further and further away from God. Sin has taken the place of God. We no longer want to please God. Sin has become like a drug that we must satisfy.

God calls us to come out of sin to repentance, but the more we resist the Holy Spirit’s call, the more we hardened our hearts until we no longer hear the Holy Spirit. This is very dangerous and can lead us to an eternity in hell.

Maranatha,

Betty

James 4:7
New King James Version

Humility Cures Worldliness

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

I must admit I committed a sin, when God gave this to me. I resisted posting it on Facebook because I know it will upset my sister-in-law because her daughter is married to a woman. The Holy Spirit convicted me of caring more about my sister-in-law’s opinion than God’s. I had to seek forgiveness from God. It is so easy to become more concerned about hurting people we love than obeying God.

Happy Monday,

Daily Prayer for November 10
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8, NIV

Lord our God, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, who was and is and is to come, the Almighty, we thank you for this wonderful message, which is meant for us too, even though our lives often seem empty and sad. But behold, you make all things new for each one of us. Even though we have long tormented ourselves, the light of life will dawn at last and we will be able to rejoice. Continue to protect us and our community. Wake us to new life, for you have called us to believe and to endure to the end. Whatever sorrows and hardships may come, we will remain faithful, O Lord our God. This is our promise to you. We will persevere and say joyfully, "Jesus Christ is coming to make all things new." Amen

We look forward with great anticipation to the rapture. As we wait, we need to pray for others and read The Bible. Living for Jesus is an honor and not a chore. Though we become tired in our work, we can find rest in God.

Every new day brings new challenges but God is with us and He strengthens us to keep going forward. Our Heavenly Father is helping us to grow spiritually.

Have a great day and remind yourself that God is with us. Take your concerns to God and trust Him to provide your needs.
Maranatha,
Betty
