Betty's "Thoughts from my heart"

Happy Thusday,

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

King James Version

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Losing your mate after 55 years, is hard and painful. Sadness doesn't just disappear. Yet God reminds that although saved people pass away just like unsaved people, if our loved one is saved and we are saved, we will be united again. We will be together and we will talk again. We are not a people without hope. There will be times we will feel broken, but God is an expert on putting broken pieces back together.

Maranatha,

Betty
Amen, sister. Amen! ♥️

Monday,

Four years ago today, my son Jeff passed away. A little over two weeks ago my husband passed away,

Needless to say, I am having trouble sleeping. Not only does my heart break for me but for Jeff’s sweet wife, Sarah, and his six-year-old daughter, Savannah.

This will be a hard day for the whole family. We do have joy in that we will see them both again in Heaven.

Yet for today we will grieve their loss and draw closer to God for peace and comfort.

Maranatha,

Betty

We will grieve along beside you, Betty, and trust in our faithful and loving God and Savior to carry all of you through this mourning period and to heal your hearts. How wonderful that you have the certain hope that you will see both Jeff and Ronnie again. And when you do you will never, ever be parted again

Blessed Sunday

Humble Yourself

2 Chronicles 7:14

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

My Church has been meeting for months twice a week praying for revival. There has been no revival. I came across a video late last night where the Preacher was so overcome with his longing for revival at his Church, that he sank down to his knees and cried out to God.

I was convicted. I have been begging for revival. Maybe I should humble myself and surrender myself instead of begging God to work. Maybe God is waiting for all of us to surrender to God’s will before asking for what we want. Maybe we should ask God to search our hearts for hidden sins and repent and then come before God with a clean HEART.

We should keep praying for revival, but let us seek God with a pure heart, humbled before Him. I truly believe God wants to bring revival to His people. May He help us to come to Him in repentance and surrender to His Will.

Happy Thursday,

A New Season

As many of you know, I often suffer from insomnia. I came across a video on YouTube the other night about change. He said that he did not know who the video was for but it was about changes in a person’s life. The last year and half, my life has taken on many changes and losses.

He talked about how changes bring on a new Season in our lives. That we should not concentrate on the losses but look at our life as a new beginning. I took this video to heart.

I am praying that God will continue to use me for His glory. I am praying that all the changes will bring a new and stronger relationship with me and God.

Change is hard but when we surrender to God, God can use loss to make us spiritually stronger. Instead of growing bitter we can grow more compassionate towards others who are also struggling.

There is no doubt that the world is growing more evil. The devil can see that his time is coming to an end. We must not give in to fear. God is still in control. We can still put our complete trust in our Heavenly Father. This is not the time to neglect our prayer and Scripture reading.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Friday,

He Knows

I have dementia. There are mornings I wake up confused. I choose not to stress over this. Not because I am not concerned.

I have come to the conclusion that we need not stress over things that we do not understand. We do not understand why God chose to allow Mr. Kirk to be killed. We can be assured there is a reason.

Turning things over to God is not just a saying, it is a work of faith on our part. We must choose to trust God in situations that are beyond our understanding.

Maranatha,

Betty

Last year I told hubby that I had cried the night before, because I was missing our son who had passed away. Hubby told me to wake him up next time and we could cry together.

Tonight I am crying because hubby has passed away. There is no one to comfort me now,
Oh Betty! you've walked thru the loss of your son, and now your beloved husband!

Praying for you and your whole family!
