Betty's "Thoughts from my heart"

2 Corinthians 2:12-17
New King James Version
Triumph in Christ

12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a [a]door was opened to me by the Lord, 13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia.

14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as [c]so many, peddling[d] the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

Hebrews 10:19-25
New King James Version
Hold Fast Your Confession

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness[a] to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Happy Tuesday,

Humble Yourself

“Promise #84:
Humble yourself before Me and in time I will exalt you.

1 Peter 5:6 (WEB)

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time."

Today's promise encourages us to walk in humility. God loves it when we embrace humility because we are just like Him when we are truly humble! Jesus told us that the greatest in the kingdom is the servant of all (Matthew 23:11). Who is the greatest in the kingdom but our Father? That means that He carries within Himself the heart of a servant.”

Pride is something a Christian needs to avoid. God did not send His Son to die for us because we are extra special. He died for us because He loves us in spite of our sins. Just as God loves us, we should love others.

Today would have been my son’s Birthday if he had not passed away. I have been sad today but grateful because I know He is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.

Maranatha,

Betty

Know The Voice of God

John 10:27
New King James Version
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

I want to know the voice of God as much as I know the voices of my family. I want to be able to hear His voice and not have to wonder if it is my thoughts are God’s voice.

To achieve this, I will have to make the effort to know God better. I will have to spend more time with God. When we know the voice of God we will not get confused by the teaching of false Teachers and false Preachers. The whispers of the devil we will recognize as evil.

Daily Prayer for April 3
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” Isaiah 2:2-3a, NIV
Dear Father in heaven, we thank you that we have you and the light of your Spirit, which always gives us new determination for the tasks you ask of us. We thank you that we may live not just in the passing moment but also in eternity, looking with joyful hope to the future meant for us and for all humankind. Keep us in your Spirit, and open to us truth after truth. May we be part of that people who carry a light within them, a light which will show them the way through all the struggles and temptations of life; then each one of us will know day by day that you can help us and everyone on earth to a better life through your Holy Spirit. Amen”

We can only envision what it will be like to worship God on His Holy Mountain and to worship in His very presence. We live in a sinful world but soon we will be living in a world that is healed of all sin and imperfections.

For now, we live in hope for our eternity with our Heavenly Father. Though we still wrestle against the flesh, God is with us and will help us overcome.
Maranatha,
Betty

Happy Monday,

The Holy Spirit Is Part of the Trinity

Daily Prayer for April 7
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16–17, NIV
Lord our God and our Father, we thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit, who binds us to you. Give us continually afresh something of this Spirit so that we can go forward with light shining on the paths we must follow on earth. Grant us your Spirit, grant that light may break into our whole life and we can rejoice because we experience so much of what you are doing. For through the power of your Spirit you can help us toward your future and all that is to come, that we may live not only in time but in eternity. Amen”

The Holy Spirit is an important part of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit convicts sinners of their sins so they can seek forgiveness and be reconciled with the Heavenly Father.

This is why blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. We cannot be called to salvation without intervention from the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we need the Holy Spirit to guide us, to convict us of our sins, and to comfort us.

All members of the Godhead are important and form our God in perfect unity. Just as we need our soul, Spirit, and body to survive on this earth. When we die we lay aside our body. At the rapture, we will be transformed with a new glorified body.
Maranatha,
Betty

Happy Thursday,

Daily Prayer for April 10
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
"For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Romans 14:7-9, NIV
Lord God, unite us with Jesus Christ, the risen and living One. Unite us so that our lives are completely submerged in your will through Jesus Christ. Tear us loose from all that tries to bind us to earth. Make us free people who always lift their heads and look up because their redemption is approaching. Almighty God, we trust in you, however difficult the times may be. Remember all peoples, for it is your will to gather them into your kingdom. You, O God, are our refuge and our help. In you we trust until the end. Amen."
  • Help us God to live for you. Help us not to get so caught up in our daily problems, that we neglect to spend time with our Heavenly Father.
  • In the midst of trials and temptations remind us to run to You and not as a last resort.
Help our love for You to grow and our trust in You to exceed yesterday. Glorious is Your Name, O God, and great is Your gift of redemption.

Maranatha,

Betty

Mutually Rewarded

“At the time Paul wrote to the Roman believers in Jesus, he hadn’t visited them yet—but wanted to: “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith” (Romans 1:11-12). The apostle was looking forward to a “gift exchange” that would benefit him and others as they sought to live for Jesus and serve others.”

Paul wanted to visit the Roman believers so that he could encourage them as well as them encourage him. It is a blessing when we meet with fellow believers and everyone leaves with a blessing and encouragement.

May we seek to encourage others while at the same time being encouraged by them. May God bless you and your families.

Amen!
We need one another as a family to keep encouraging and building up one another.
Our fellowship with each other helps to continually strengthen our faith by each other's example of love and being overcomers of our own trials and burdens as we comfort one another with the same comfort God gives us.
Fellowship incites us to keep running our race to the finish as we encourage each other especially when this life tries to get us down.
Like a marathon run where the runners are so tired and may even feel weak from the long run, but the cheers from the ones on the sidelines keep encouraging the runners to keep running because they are so close to the finish line and the sound of the enthusiastic cheers from the supporting onlookers boosts the eagerness of the runners to press on to the finish.
Oh yes, the loving support of the body of Christ is so essential and important for all of us.

Thank you for posting this encouraging message @Betty52
You're always a blessing to us and share in the encouragement of this Body of believers.
God bless you dear sister 💖

Happy Easter,

Resurrection Sunday

Mark 16
New King James Version
He Is Risen
16 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.
6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going [a]before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”
8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord
9 [c]Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
Jesus Appears to Two Disciples
12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.

Today we celebrate the day Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus’ resurrection, gives us hope that one day we will rise again. All people will have eternal life but all will not be in the same place. Those who surrender their will to Christ and serve Him, will spend eternity with Him.

Those who choose to serve self over God will spend eternity in hell. Those who go the hell choose to go there. Salvation is a free gift that we can all choose.

Joshua 24:15
And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Betty

Happy Tuesday,

Disappointed

Daily Prayer for April 22
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. Luke 12:35–36, NIV
Lord our God, we wait in expectation. Even in the great distress on earth, we wait in longing for your day to come, for the pangs of death to pass, so that your kingdom may arise and the reign of Jesus Christ may spread over the whole world in power and glory. May your promise be fulfilled and your will be done on earth. May there always be people who believe and who pray in faith, “Lord God, come! Come, Lord God. Humankind does not understand how to live. Send us Jesus Christ, the Savior, Lord, and Judge of the dead and the living. Put an end to sin and death!” We thank you for giving us this faith and for letting us pray at all times, “Come, Lord Jesus. Yes, come soon, Lord Jesus!” We ask you to protect us in this faith. Bring this faith to fulfillment for the glory of your name.”Amen

I must admit I was disappointed that the rapture did not happen on Easter Sunday. I even had the nerve to explain to God what a great idea it was for the rapture to happen on Sunday.

Truth, is our plans do not always go the way we want. People don’t get saved in the time frame we set up for God. Yes, we can be that willful at times. People get healed in Heaven instead of on Earth. We do not understand the reasoning.

We can sometimes get this idea that we can push our ideas on God. We would never say that aloud but we work hard trying to convince God to do what we want.

It is humbling to have to take a step back and remind ourselves that God is in charge and not ourselves. There will be times that we go things that we just do not understand the reasoning for. When go through the fires of life we often do not see what we have lost until the smoke clears. It is painful to lose things we cherish and yet we can find peace in the ashes.
Maranatha,
Betty

LOL Betty dear heart, I regularly tell Him how great it would be for the Rapture NOW! All I seem to hear is gentle laughter from above. And a reminder about His patience and loving concern that all might be saved and that His delays might involve the salvation of people I will meet in eternity.

But I still tell Him!

Happy Friday,

Fear Not

Daily Prayer for April 25
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Revelation 1:17-18, NIV
Lord our God, we thank you with all our hearts that Jesus Christ still lives today and that we may believe in him and call upon him as our Savior. We thank you for him who sees to the depths of our human misery and calls right into the midst of it, “Do not be afraid. I am with you. I live. I am your helper. No matter how insignificant you are, fear not, for I, Jesus Christ, shine into all the darkness, even into the darkness of sin and death, into all the judgment that has fallen or is still to come upon everyone on Earth.” Praise to your name, Lord our God! You are great and almighty and beyond our understanding. But you have sent us the Savior whom we can understand, and we rejoice that we may have community with him in your presence. “Amen

The Apostle walked with Jesus, for three years. Yet, when he saw Jesus in all His glory, He fell at His feet. We cannot even imagine how glorious it will be to see Jesus in all of His glory.

This same Jesus takes time to listen to our prayers, our concerns, and yes, even our grumbling of our frustrations. God listens to us! How often I take that great gift for granted!

We are often guilty of not showing God the respect that He is due. May God be merciful to us and forgive us when do not treat Him with the respect He deserves.
Maranatha,
Betty

Revelation 22:20
I Am Coming Quickly
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Good Morning, Monday

Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

New Living Translation
Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

Sometimes we find ourselves running on empty. The last couple of days I have been sick and physically tired.

I took the time to rest and revive myself. Jesus told His disciples when they needed to take a break and rest.

We cannot bless others if we are running on empty. Take time to rest physically and to ask God to spirituality refresh you so that you can begin working again to help others.

When we are exhausted physically, emotionally, and mentally we can become irritated and snappy at others.

It is okay to say no. We, especially as we get older cannot do all the stuff we used to do. We need proper rest.

Happy Friday,

National Day of Prayer

Yesterday, was the National Day of Prayer. Last night a few of us met at the School. Different Pastors and the Superintendent, each prayed for our Schools. It was wonderful to see different Pastors come together and pray for the Students, the Staff, and our Schools.

There are so many temptations our Students face today that we had never even heard about in my day. Our Students need protection from the devil, who would love to get his hands in them and put them in danger.

God does care about our students. Sadly there have been tragedies where students have given into the temptations from the devil. It is essential that we pray for our students and everyone who works at the Schools. We not only prayed for those who attend Channelview but for Schools across the Nation.

We should try to remember to pray for Students and School staff on a regular basis.
Maranatha,
Betty

A big thank you to the Superintendent and all the Pastors who took the time to come and pray for the Schools, students, and staff.

Happy Tuesday,

A Child of God

John 1:12
New King James Version
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

Being a part of a family came with rules and regulations. Our parents loved us unconditionally, but at the same time we were expected to do chores and obey our parents.

Jesus laid down guidelines for those who chose to be a child of God.

Luke 9:23
Take Up the Cross and Follow Him
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

If we live for self, we are not a child of God. We must commit ourselves to God.

1. Matthew 6:24
You Cannot Serve God and Riches
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:13
“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

We must choose who we will serve. Either ourselves our God. God will not , make the decision for us. We must choose for ourselves.

Numbers 6:22-27
New King James Version

The Priestly Blessing
22 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
24
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26
The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
27 “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

When we became children of God, we were adopted into the family.

Romans 11:17-24
And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” ...

We are blessed to be a part of the family of God. We are blessed to be called God’s children. It is a great blessing to be part of God’s children.

Psalm 147:11
New King James Version
11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
In those who hope in His mercy.

1 John 1:3
New King James Version
3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

1 John 3:1
New King James Version
The Command to Love
3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of [a]God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Let us not take for granted our precious gift of salvation. We were purchased by the blood of Jesus.

Hebrews 2:3-4
King James Version

3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Are we grateful to God for our precious gift of salvation? Do we seek to serve God out of love for Him or for duty? Do we offer up praise and worship to God our Heavenly Father? Are we a Sunday-only Christian?

These are the questions we must ask ourselves. If we are not pleased with the answers, ask for forgiveness and seek to worship God in truth and righteousness.
Maranatha,
Betty
