Blessed Sunday,

If Only

Most of us have moments when we wonder about decisions we made in the past. Things like if we had stayed home instead of going to a party and meeting Mr. Wrong? What if we had applied ourselves more in School?

The biggest if only, will be with those who died without accepting salvation. They will go over the many times the Holy Spirit convicted them of their sins. They knew the truth but they chose the pleasure of sin over redemption.

Unfortunately, so many hardened their hearts to the point they were no longer able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. They will spend eternity separated from God. In a place where there is no light, peace, or love.

While we are still on this earth, let us choose to listen to the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to guide us and lead us into living in righteousness. Choose God’s Will over our selfish desires.

Maranatha,

Betty

1 Peter 2:24

New King James Version

24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [a]stripes you were healed.

Christmas Eve

For, The Lord Himself

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
King James Version

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I believe as much as we long for the rapture, so does the Lord, Himself,

When the rapture happens, God, Himself shall descend from Heaven, to call His children.

This job is so important to God, that He does not send a lesser Angel, but He will leave His Throne to invite us to come and abide with Him.

What a glorious thought! We are important enough to God that He leaves His Throne and comes down into the clouds to call us to come be with Him.

1 Thessalonians 4:17
King James Version

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Maranatha,

Betty

Blessed Sunday,

Praise God

Daily Prayer for December 29
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 106:1, NIV

Dear Father in heaven, whose might is over all the earth, we thank you for all the love you show us. We also thank you for everything that seems hard, but which you change into help and strength. We want to thank you in life and in death, in joy and in sorrow, for you are the great and mighty God, who calls us to life again and again, who leads us to fuller life. You have given us great love in Jesus Christ, our Savior. He shall always be before our eyes and remain in our hearts. Through him we can cry out in joy, "Abba, dear Father!" Amen.”

God has not promised us a life without problems. Yet, He is with us always. We will find comfort when we offer our Heavenly Father the sacrifice of praise in the midst of every situation and circumstance.

Praise and worship from our hearts bring us peace and joy.

Hebrews 13:15

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Maranatha,
Betty

Happy Tuesday

Goodbye 2024

Tonight, we say goodbye to 2024. This year will be wrapped up. We cannot add or change anything about 2024. Do not grieve over 2024. 2025 will be a new beginning.

Those New Year resolutions we did not keep are past. We can make a new beginning with New Year resolutions for 2025. While most of us are concerned about living healthier, let us be more concerned about our spiritual health.

The results of our spiritual health will affect our eternity. God help us to love Him this year, with all our heart, mind and soul, and to serve Him with a heart of gladness.

Maranatha,

Betty

James 1:19-20 ESV

Hearing and Doing the Word

19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Philippians 4:8-9 ESV

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Betty THANK YOU! I appreciate YOU and your writing so much. I just shared this with my daughter in law.

I lost George in March, but God has carried me thru the year with His comfort and His peace.

I'm looking forward to that day when we meet in the air. Until then I hope to be doing what He wants down here.

Happy Thursday,

Bring Comfort to the Suffering

Daily Prayer for January 2
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“With this in mind, then, I kneel in prayer to the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name, that out of the treasures of his glory he may grant you strength and power through his Spirit in your inner being, that through faith Christ may dwell in your hearts in love. Ephesians 3:14–17a, NEB

Lord our God, we have gathered in your sight. We thank you that through your words you have given something of your very self to help us be your disciples, your children, who stand firm in faith and trust throughout our lives, whatever our lot may be. Help us in these times, and when days grow difficult and full of grief, hold your people securely in your hand. Help us to be firmly rooted in faith, however dark it is on earth. You can give us strength and courage; we can do nothing in our human strength. But the power of your Spirit can renew us, make us alert, and fill us with lasting joy. For we are your people, your children, and when held in your hand, we can rejoice in spite of all grief. Amen”

So much loss of life, Lord we need you. We do not understand the hatred that grows in a person’s soul, that makes them kill innocent strangers. Our hearts are broken by the tragedies that are happening around the world. Comfort the families of the lost and comfort and heal the injured.
Maranatha,
Betty

Blessed Sunday,

Choose Whom You Will Serve

Matthew 6:24
New International Version

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

When we become more concerned with a healthy bank account, rather than a healthier spiritual life, we have lost our way. Money is temporary. Unexpected disasters can drain the money we save. When we die we cannot take our money and possessions with us.

Galatians 1:10
New King James Version

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

There will come a time in our lives when we will have to choose between pleasing God or man. Remember man is never satisfied. No matter what we do today, tomorrow they will want something else. Works for God are eternal.

John 15:4-8 – “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Make God and pleasing Him our focus. When we do things for others, do it for the glory of God. Worship God through our works. Love others with the love of God. Seek to please God in all our ways.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Monday,

Feeling Low

When you have dementia, you have times when you feel like your brain is in a fog. You just do not feel yourself. I am having one of those days.

We all have days when we feel low and not ourselves. This is when we need to seek God and draw close to Him. He will refresh and comfort us. He will strengthen us and give us peace. In Him, we will find joy.

It is important for us to seek God, because during these times we are more vulnerable and the devil knows this. God wants to encourage us. We just need to call out to Him.

Maranatha,

Betty

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

Deuteronomy 4:29
But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

Happy Tuesday,

Talking To The Dead

People pay money to people for them to give messages to their loved ones. Sadly, they are throwing their money away. No living person can talk to the dead.

I do believe if our loved ones are in Heaven we can ask God to tell our loved ones in Heaven we love them. God is not going to broker messages asking questions of our loved ones and returning their answers to us.

We are to live our lives in faith. Which means we must have faith that God is taking care of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord. We need not ask the dead about decisions we need to make. Instead, we pray to God and ask Him to guide us.

We do not talk to the dead we talk to a living God, who created us and loves us. We must walk in faith. One day if we are saved, we will walk in sight as we enter into Heaven’s Gates.

Maranatha,

Betty

1 Corinthians 13:12
King James Version

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Blessed Sunday,

No shame

Daily Prayer for January 12
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22, NIV

Dear Father in heaven, you let us see and feel your great goodness toward us. Grant us the inner help to be victorious in the Savior, rejoicing to be by his side with faith and loyalty, and with the strength of soul that frees us from all burdens by laying them in your hands. Hear us as together we pray to you. All we ask and long for, all our concerns down to the very smallest, we lay in your hands in the one great request that your name be glorified on earth as it is in heaven. Amen”

There is no shame in needing a special touch from God. All God’s children grow weary and tired. God wants to refresh us. All we have to do is humbly seek Him and ask Him to refresh us.

Seek God every day. Be honest with Him about your needs.
Maranatha,
Betty

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Happy Wednesday,

Great Expectations

I Thessalonians 4: 16, 17, 18 -- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then, we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

If we are honest with ourselves we do want to escape the evil of this world and the worse to come. Yet, there should be a stronger longing within us. The longing of being in the very presence of God.

We cannot even fanthom the joy we will experience when we walk the streets of Heaven, with our Lord Jesus Christ. Truly, what a glorious day it will be when we see Jesus face to face.

II Thessalonians 2: 16, 17 -- Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Many of us faced giant hardships in 2024. Only God knows what 2025 will bring. Let us choose to comfort and edify one another in the Name of Jesus.

Maranatha,

Betty

The Lord the Shepherd of His People

Psalm 23
A Psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever

John 10:14
New King James Version
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

Isaiah 30:21
New King James Version
21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.

Psalm 143:8
New King James Version
8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul unto thee.

Happy Thursday,

Hope for Today and the Future

Daily Prayer for January 23
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all...Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul. Psalm 103:19, 22, NIV

Dear Father in heaven,we thank you for giving our hearts hope for your kingdom, the kingdom of God. We thank you that again and again we may draw strength from this hope, find new youthfulness and courage, and discover how powerfully, though hidden, your kingdom is already approaching. Protect this vision and help us when we fail. All will come right. Whatever happens, we are in your hands, and no one shall snatch this joy from our hearts. Amen”

Truth is that we have times when every day is a struggle. It is easy to lose hope. Yet, when we call on our Heavenly Father, He will strengthen us with His Heavenly Hope. We do not need to give in to despair but remember to talk to our God and Savior, everyday!

The Promises of God

“Promise #25:

I will not withhold anything good from those with an upright heart.

Psalm 84:11 (WEB)

For Yahweh God is a sun and a shield.
Yahweh will give grace and glory.
He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.”

God keeps His promises. He does nor forget His promises. We can trust God in every situation. There are times that God does not answer our prayers, the way we expect. This requires us to trust His decisions. If we do we will be less stressed out. Worship God in all circumstances.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Thursday,

The Power of Prayer

Prayer is a magnificent thing, the ability of a person to be able to talk to the Creator of all things. Yet, we sometimes lose faith that God cares about our concerns.

Sometimes our prayers seem to go unanswered for weeks and even months. Our faith grows weak and we grow spiritually and emotionally drained. We feel as if God has abandoned us. As Christians, we know we have nowhere else to go. This can sink us into depression.

Yet, we can still hear a quiet little whisper that assures us that God is still with us. In the midst of our depression, God still connects with us. We may still not have our prayer answered but in our dark night, a tiny bit of hope grows.

We can take this tiny bit of hope and begin to praise God for the answer to our prayers that is going to come. We still do not understand the reason for the wait but we can begin to trust God again.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Tuesday,

Judged Falsely,

“Promise #35:

You are holy and free from blame because of Jesus Christ's death.

Colossians 1:21-22 (WEB):
21 You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works,
22 yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and blameless before him.”

There are times when we are judged falsely. People who do know the facts spread lies. This can hurt us emotionally. When this happens we can find comfort and peace by going to our Heavenly Father.

My husband has bad dementia and several times a week he calls me and tells me I am going to hell for putting him in the nursing home. The thing is I did not put him in there. The hospital did because his dementia is so bad.

I have mild dementia, myself. I am overwhelmed with so many issues. Yet, even now I know God is with me. He will sustain me.

I pray for others and this encourages me. We are encouraged and sustained when we care enough to pray for one another. Let us Worship God with all our hearts and be aware of the needs of others.

Betty
