Be Still And Know

Scripture: Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
In a world filled with noise, chaos, and constant motion, God calls us to a posture that feels almost impossible: stillness. To be still is not to do nothing, but to rest in complete trust. It is the posture of faith that acknowledges God is sovereign, even when everything around us seems unstable.

Prophetically, this verse points to the ultimate reality—God will be exalted in the nations and in all the earth. No political agenda, global crisis, or scheme of the enemy can stop His plan. Our confidence doesn’t come from circumstances but from the unshakable truth that He is God.

Being still is an act of warfare against fear, worry, and striving. It’s choosing to silence our anxious thoughts and recognize that the Lord is on His throne and His purposes will prevail.

Application

This week, practice stillness before God. Take moments each day to pause, quiet your heart, and reflect on His sovereignty. Let your confidence rest not in what you see but in who He is.

Action:
In your journal on Friday, reflect:

  • Did I take time this week to intentionally “be still” before God?
  • How did stillness shape my perspective on the trials or noise around me?
  • Where did I see God exalted in my life or in the world?
Even in chaos, God is in control. Be still… and know.
