Bay Area Christians fighting city which took down cross: 'They really hate what it stands for'
FromFoxNews:

Christians in a San Francisco Bay Area community are fighting to restore a large cross which had overlooked the city of Albany for over 50 years.

On June 8, 2023, the city took down the cross after years of legal battles between the city council and a local community service group, the Albany Lions Club, which had maintained the structure for decades. The Albany City Council argued the cross shouldn't remain as a religious symbol on public property and a judge agreed, granting the city possession of the cross in a prejudgment order last year.

But Christians in the community told Fox News Digital the cross was a fixture of the community and people who didn't like the Christian symbol had stirred opposition against it by spreading lies.

(more):

We all will pray to the Creator and Sustainer of ALL Things! "They" want to remove symbols that point to Him, to salve their conscience of darkness. He warned us this attitude would come. I never thought it this soon, or this hard. We have our hope in Him and Him alone. He will preserve us, care for us, and sustain us in this darkened world. Lord have mercy upon them... for they truly do not know what they are doing.

Reminds me of Acts 19 where the way of Christ was slandered and persecution of the church was quite stirred up in the city of Ephesus.

But, the more the city tried to slander the way of Christ and suppress Christianity the more the way of Christ was proved to be superior by God Himself working through His faithful witnesses who continued sharing the Gospel and edifying the Church.

 ing for the church in this area for the Lords saving work.

Later, the City of Ephesus was blessed with the presence of an Ecumenical council.
This council the one that is cited by some preterist/amillenial churches as having condemned Chiliasm (what we now call pre-Millennialism/pre-Trib). However, a check of the freely available copies of the extant documents from the council reveals this to not be the case. Looks more like it generally died down, but didn't disappear, until popular resurgence (not invention) during the 19th and 20th Centuries.

Ninevah was another place that was hostile to God's Word, but it had repentence and revival after God "insisted" Jonah go :D

May the United States and Canada, especially the places most hostile to God, be blessed in the same way.

  :amen: :amen: :thankyou: :thankyou:
