American Troops Must be Deployed to Ukraine or Russia Won’t be Deterred, Insists Zelensky: Report

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has been at Davos this week drumming up support, but also attempting to ingratiate himself with President Donald Trump by acting as a conduit for America First messaging to European leaders. Nevertheless, Bloomberg reports the Ukrainian “bristled” at the suggestion the United States wouldn’t put boots on the ground in Ukraine to deter further Russian aggression.

The conversation follows months of talk in Europe, particularly in capitals like Paris, Warsaw, and London, about what happens when the now apparently inevitable ceasefire comes. Preventing Russia from simply using a pause as a chance to catch its breath, re-arm, and then attack anew after a short break is the main concern and European leaders have told President Zelensky they would want to consider deploying their own armies to Ukraine to prevent Russia from renewing hostilities.

But forward-deploying NATO like this and de facto welcoming Ukraine into its protective embrace wouldn’t work, President Zelensky reportedly told Bloomberg on the side-lines of Davos, without American manpower. He is reported to have said: “It can’t be without the United States… Even if some European friends think it can be, no it can’t be. Nobody will risk without the United States.”

As well as the United States, Zelensky also expressed optimism that China might be persuaded to force Russia to peace, because so much of Russia’s economy and military supply relies on Beijing. While “President Trump is the strongest”, Xi Jinping “can push Putin for peace, I’m sure”.

I don't know if he has officially made that request of the US under Trump, but he may have. In any case, that's highly unlikely. Additionally, I think zelinski is correct when he believes it wouldn't work/wouldn't happen without US involvement as the E.U. just doesn't have the backbone to do something like that on its own. It's a foolish thought anyway.

My hope is that any economic and military related assistance to Ukraine ends yesterday which would likely lead most of Europe to read the writing on the wall and also stand down and before long Ukraine will be forced to sue for peace and Russia will likely be happy to just keep the land it is currently holding so long as there is no plan for Ukraine to enter NATO at some future date.

This was and still is a globalist's war. Hopefully Trump understands that and takes the US completely out of it except to be a part of discussions to end the hostilities between the two countries. I think it would be awesome if the US and Russia could actually be friendly towards each other. Putin seems to be anti-globalist and I sure like that.

Did I read that right?
Zelenski addresses the WEF about US military involvement in the Russia/Ukraine war with US troops deployed to Ukraine?
I believe the Commander in Chief, President of the US, makes the decision on deploying our troops to any war.
Exactly. So much arrogance. Zelensky has lost my last bit of sympathy and patience for him.

Yet I’m fortunate to receive the Friends of Israel prayer guide quarterly and today’s prayer is for some of their team who are traveling to Russia to minister. I so love Christians who survived that former USSR.

If Trump still stands by his belief in his first term that the other members of NATO have to put in more than the US because the US has taken up the slack for their lack of doing their part, then I think only if the US national security is threatened would he get us involved in a war because Trump was very adamant about ending US involvement in "forever wars" and this war has been going on too long even with the billions in money and military equipment given to Ukraine.

If Ukraine had been a member of NATO the US would under existing agreements as part of NATO been required to enter the war on the side of Ukraine, which would have surely resulted in thermonuclear exchanges between Russia, Europe, and the US, if Russia had the temerity to invade a NATO Ukraine.

When thinking about the current mess in Ukraine, I have to go back to watching the west and also the Ukraine leader himself seemingly pushing Putin via PSYOPS to invade Ukraine and then go back even further to a Russia friendly Ukraine govmint that was essentially toppled and then replaced by the west. My view is that the west is nearly wholly responsible for this war and we should be content with Russia keeping the land they've gained, and the west shouldn't agree to invite Ukraine into NATO at some future date as NATO has probably expanded too much as it is already (Think Turkey, for example). I think Russia would accept any reasonable peace agreement that doesn't include Ukraine ever becoming a NATO member on account of Russia is in dire straights right now, at least in part due to the war with Ukraine.

I hope that Trump is smart enough to stay out of this other than to try and broker a peace, and I think he should be threatening Ukraine more than Russia when it comes to peace making. If Ukraine understands that it no longer has a sugar daddy in the west then it may surrender lands lost and agree to a peace settlement.

If the Russia/Ukraine war has been all about Russia wanting land back that was taken during the era of the Soviet Union, I don't think it's a war worthy of the US getting involved in unless our own interests were threatened.

I say this because of how America got Texas and New Mexico and California as part of the union. We went to war with Mexico in conquest for that land from Mexico.
So I don't think we should get involved in a foreign war over something which America did the same thing.

Unless of course it is about the land of Israel because that's God's Land and it should be protected from God's adversaries.

The Mexican-American war in a nutshell

May marks two key anniversaries in the conflict between the United States and Mexico that set in motion the Civil War—and led to California, Texas, and eight other states joining the Union

 He is a cheeky one! Demanding Americans to give their lives (and money) to support his failure to win his war with all the support he got from Biden the last 4 years.

Trump isn't stupid and the definition of stupid is doing the same thing, again and again, and expecting different results.
