1 Second After The Rapture

Thanks, actually wasn't talking about my own books but that's good to know. I really wanted to mention a story that's free on Amazon called "Untaken, 12 Hours Following the Rapture" by C.O. Wyler. It's free to read on Kindle (which you can put on your phone for free) and a well written, disturbing story that you can share with friends.
Thanks for the post - NO CHARGE EBOOK almost everywhere online - "To God be the Glory!"

We all have read articles on what others think might happen immediately after the church is called Home.

What are your thoughts on the immediate aftermath of the rapture?
Well firstly, when Jesus returns, we will be changed! 1 Corinthians 15:52-53 tells us so.

…in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

- 1 Corinthians 15:52-53

I wonder if there will be mass suicides after the rapture. With people trying to hurry up and ask Jesus to be their savior (finally) and then they kill themselves to join us. This would be for those who had been told about the rapture before
Revelation 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

There is no indication in scripture that there will be mass suicides after the rapture. There will be sudden destruction, 1 Thess 5:2-3 but no hint of mass suicides.

The quote from Rev 9:6 above is about a time near the middle of the tribulation, not quite at the middle point yet- during the 5th Trumpet. (Seals first, starting in Rev 6, Trumpets next in Rev 8-11, then Bowls starting in Rev 15) This is before the midpoint described in Rev 12 & 13 coming after the Trumpets and before the Bowls

That quote is right after the 5th Angel sounds his trumpet, letting out the demon locusts to torment those who are not sealed by God on their foreheads. Their stings are so tormenting that people look for death, but it eludes them. That torment lasts 5 months.

What we see is God's grace. The mark of the Beast doesn't arrive for a couple more chapters. So these who suffer the demon locusts/scorpion things are prevented from suicide by God's grace.

They are suffering, but it is allowed by God to point some to salvation later. Meanwhile they suffer, yet even there God doesn't allow the enemy to kill these people, merely torment them. God is not willing that any should perish and severe as the judgments are, they are God's severe Mercy to point stubborn sinful mankind towards salvation in Christ. God doesn't let them choose death - 5 is the number associated with Grace in the Bible. This is His grace.

1 Corinthians 15: 52-53 was mentioned above and it's quite a helpful passage but there is some VERY CRITICAL context to include. Firstly vs 51 was left out, which clearly places this in a Rapture context. Scripture must interpret scripture, and the whole context must be considered.

That passage refers back to an order of events that Paul is describing in v 20-25

1 Corinthians 15: 20-25

20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.

22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

Going over this verse by verse we see

v 20-22 Christ raised from the dead is the firstfruits of those who died. In Adam we all fell into death, and in Christ we who belong to Him are made alive

V23 THE KEY HERE showing the order of events. Christ, the First Fruits on the Feast of First Fruits fulfilling that Feast. THEN WHEN HE COMES (Rapture) THOSE WHO BELONG TO HIM.

V 24 can be confusing but follow me here. It jumps to the end- and explains what end we are talking about. It's when He (Christ) hands over the kingdom (Millennial kingdom as we see in a second) To God the Father AFTER HE HAS DESTROYED ALL Dominion, Authority and Power. That takes us right to the very end, after the Great White Throne Judgment as the next verse explains.

v25 says For he (meaning Christ) must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

So v 23 explains First Fruits, THEN the Rapture, THEN the end after He reigns and destroys all dominion, authority and power. That takes us past the point of the Great White Throne Judgment when Jesus does this in Rev 20: 11-15

Think of it like the big overview, the sequence of events. First Fruits (First coming), Rapture, then the very end of the Millennial Reign.

That shows what Paul is talking about with the order of events. First Fruits, RAPTURE, then the Great White Throne Judgment.

So the whole point is that Paul is teaching the Rapture in Chapter 15 starting up in 20-25 and referring back to it in vs 51-53

Getting back to 1Cor 15:52-53 where Paul says this he is referring to the RAPTURE of the saints. This is very clear in vs 51 which was NOT quoted above. That is a big key here.

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—

52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

Sleep is meaning death. We shall not all die (so Paul is talking about a time when some of us won't die) BUT we will ALL (including the dead in Christ) be CHANGED

How- Paul explains how it happens

In a flash.

When

At the last trumpet.

and Paul restates it even more clearly. Remember he is talking about the Rapture here as Vs 51 makes quite clear and SHOULD be included in the passage.

For the dead will be raised (again, just like elsewhere, the dead are raised imperishable FIRST, then we (who remain alive) will be changed (like the dead as the next verse explains.

v 53 says that the perishable (our living but mortal bodies, or the bodies of the dead) must clothe itself with the Imperishable (to have a body like Jesus has) and the mortal with immortality.

I would imagine a lot of confusion in the minds of the left behind, at least those who are in a position to witness the real time disappearance of one or more. It's hard for the mind to grasp the supernatural... takes time to process that. There will probably be lots of industrial, vehicular, and aircraft accidents resulting in significant destruction and deaths of those left behind.

A pretty good portion of the US population, and other nation's populations probably won't know anything happened until they hear about it on the radio or tv or the internet.

Some will understand that Believers were Raptured and may or may not accept Christ into their lives. A lot of unbelievers who identify as Christians will be clueless because they will never have been taught proper, if any, eschatology.

If a sovereign global govmint has been established prior to the Rapture, it won't take too long before a statement is made about the disappearance of so many. If the global govmint hasn't advanced that far along yet, There will probably be conflicting official statements given across the globe, though those leaders who are plugged in to the OWG will all give the "official" explanation.

Quicker than one might imagine, many of those left behind will begin a looting spree like the world has never seen before. It'll grow into much violence as hearts harden even more than they'd already been. It'll take martial law in individual nations or the entire world to bring things under a semblance of control... but the world will remain a more dangerous place than it's ever been before.

If Bibles and Bible commentary haven't already been banned, that will likely follow quickly. The internet will likely be purged of any sites that promote the One True God. Bible apps will be deleted from devices by a central authority and if anyone is caught with a hard copy Bible it will like be considered a serious criminal offense.

Then, maybe... some calm before the storm.
Thankx for saving me the time to put it into words. I can read it faster than I can type it.

Yes we will be changed. But that has nothing to do with the OP question which is what will happen here on earth one second after the Rapture. We won't be here. We'll have been raptured.
