The Telegraph is reporting Ukrainian President Zelenskiy has agreed to end the war in Ukraine by allowing Russia to keep territory it has gained on the battlefield...as if he had a choice in the matter.

This announcement paves the way for an historic peace deal to be worked out with President Putin of Russia during Trump's meeting with him in Alaska on Friday.

Zelensky has indicated Ukraine may agree to end the war by letting Russia keep the territory it currently holds in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimea. The proposal would freeze the front lines where they are, reports The Telegraph.

Hopefully there will be peace between the two countries. Such an unfortunate war that should have never happened. I hope that what remains of Ukraine isn't permitted to join NATO at some later date... I don't think that would be worth it. NATO has over-expanded as it is.

All the news I could find on this topic were reporting the exact opposite of what the telegraph is reporting.

Well we will no doubt hear from Trump after the meeting in Alaska. It's Friday Aug 15th.

I was listening to my favourite Russian source on the subject today and he's as puzzled as everyone else.

His take is that Ukraine won't give up anything- especially not in the areas of Donetsk that they've re taken, Russia isn't going to give up any of their land. Crimea maybe will stay with Russia but beyond that it's a stale mate.

Konstantin pointed out that the sources for news around the world are either biased in favour of Ukraine or in favour of Russia. Unless something really different happens in Anchorage, this might be an excuse for a face to face between Putin and Trump. And that is not a bad thing either.

Yep nothing will happen , neither will give up any land and the moment a false agreement comes, one will immediately start attacking again

The globalist media loves putting out mis-information with regards to anything Trump is involved in in any way. I guess we'll know what's really happening when the dust settles.

I really hope the OP is true, and the war is almost over. However, nothing out there supports the OP, and it would be huge news to report.

Something else that occurred to me is the old misdirected attention trick.

When the magician on stage draws attention to one hand, watch the other.

A world away from Anchorage, on the other side of the planet Israel is getting ready to deal with Gaza. Iran may be part of that. Trump may prefer to make any moves on Iran to assist Israel when world attention- especially Iranian attention is distracted.
