Major winter storms blanketed much of the Midwest and the East Coast on Sunday and Monday, resulting in at least four deaths so far, thousands of flight cancellations, and roughly 238,000 people without power.
The four deaths occurred in Missouri, Kanas, and Texas. One man was fatally injured while shoveling snow in Missouri on Sunday, Jackson County officials said, per NBC News.
Two people were killed in Kansas in a weather-related crash in southwest Wichita on Sunday. The fourth person was found dead in Houston on Monday morning outside of a bus shelter. The cause of death was cold weather, but the Metropolitan police are investigating the incident.
The winter storms also left over a thousand motorists stranded in Missouri over the past two days, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol has responded to over 350 crashes.
