Will the Holy Spirit be indwelling believers during the tribulation?

The key word is 'indwelling.' I know the HS will be active during the tribulation time, how else could people come to faith? My question concerns the indwelling function only. I've heard it somewhere (?) that the Spirit's indwelling was/is for the church believers only. The proof text is from Matt. 25 where Jesus talks about those who did or didn't help the Jews in some manner. That, some say, shows that, during that tribulation time, the proof or evidence of true salvation is shown by treatment of the Jews or lack thereof. Not salvation by works but salvation PROOF by works. It's sort of a return to O.T. times where faith or belief was shown/proven by behavior or obedience. That makes sense to me but I'm looking for more Biblical proof if there is any. Or is this just reading more into the text than is there?

I think that this teaching was derived from the following event in Scripture-- because the Church is made up exclusively of believers indwelled by the Holy Spirit, when the Church is taken up in the Rapture the conclusion is that then will be no people left who are indwelled by the Holy Spirit. But, honestly, this is an interpretation of Scripture, not a plain statement of it.

2 Thessalonians 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

The verses above seem to at least imply that the Holy Spirit will be taken out of the way in some manner. That is assuming it is speaking of the Holy Spirit. As I am not gifted with the understanding of Prophecy, this is just what I have been taught. :noidea:
