Why Will the World Worship the Antichrist?
The Time When (If Possible) Even the Elect Will Be Deceived…
By Britt Gillette

While John the Baptist was in prison, his disciples came and told him about Jesus, His miracles, and what He was saying and doing. So John sent them to find Jesus and ask Him this, “Are you the Messiah? Are you the one we’ve been expecting?”

What Jesus said left no doubt as to His identity. Jesus told them:

“Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard – the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.” Luke 7:22 (NLT)
This satisfied John. Why? Because John’s disciples saw and heard these miracles. They didn’t just take Jesus’ word for it (although they could have).

They were eyewitnesses.
John knew the Messianic prophecies. So when he heard about these miracles, he knew who Jesus was. He knew they signaled the Messiah’s arrival. He knew hundreds of years before Jesus walked the earth, Isaiah said about the Messiah:

“And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the wasteland.” Isaiah 35:5-6 (NLT)
So in John’s mind, this settled the question. Jesus was the Messiah.

But what about everyone else?

Many other people witnessed the miracles of Jesus firsthand. Around Jesus, it was common to see the following:

  • The mute could speak,
  • The deaf could hear,
  • The paralyzed could walk, and
  • The blind could see.

Because of these miracles, many believed in Jesus. But others refused to believe, even though these miracles verified His identity as the Son of God. What did Jesus say about these people? He said:

“I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.” John 5:43 (ESV)

I am so grateful that I believe and trust in Jesus as my savior and have faith in Him alone that He will protect me from being deceived. Please return soon Lord Jesus, because we want to be with you.

Jesus told him, “You believe because you see me. Those who believe without seeing me will be truly blessed.”
- John 20:29

Jesus answered, “Be careful that no one fools you. Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will fool many people.
-Matthew 24:4

Deep down they prefer darkness.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:16-21, KJV

I think the main reason is that they will fall for his deception. Think about it; things are bad, the rapture has occurred, society is falling apart, food is in short supply, and then someone comes in with all the answers, performs some miracles, and is very persuasive and articulate promising to fix things if people will just follow. And they will!

We are told the way is narrow. And wide is the gate for those who will not believe in God. Most will always refuse to bend their knee to God, because they are lovers of themselves, and make themselves gods. Guess who taught them to do that, ever since the garden of Eden? Satan himself. That is precisely why they will worship the antichrist.

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 8:44

I think that part of the following will be because the anti christ will deeply resonate with those already inclined to his way of doing things. They will identify in a very natural way.
