Who loves street preaching?

I basically go to drug and gang infested slums, find a median, stand there with a sign that says "God Loves You! Free Bibles!". I stand there, smile and wave, blow kisses now and then (I'm female). If any shows interest I ask them how many, show them what I've got, let them pick. I do that for a couple of hours. Ideally I get some street food on the way home.

I am happy to share my testimony if anyone is curious otherwise it's just smiling and waving.

I also have a ministry where I put Scripture booklets, tracts, or New Testaments in bags of candy and hand them out to service providers.

I have never been a street preacher ... although I willingly share the gospel one-on-one with anyone when the Spirit leads, and also really pray for people or in public. I admire those who go out and preach on street corners. I also very much admire people such as our Heather (@Acts5:41) who goes among the worst of the worst out of love for their souls. My first wife who went home to be with the Lord in 2007 did exactly that. She even went into bars --including rough biker bars-- and proclaimed the gospel even in the face of threats of physical harm.

There are some local laws I follow. It must be a median wider than 6 feet. I can't block traffic or touch the cars. I am not allowed to accept money either. I stand there, smile, wave, hold up a Bible now and then. I may walk up and down the median depending on location, if it's a long one I go up and down. I only offer a Bible to the interested. If they aren't interested I move on.

And every single person who laughed at me or mocked me in some way always came back within 20 minutes asking for a Bible.

Love street preaching, although I don't do it since I'm a woman and not qualified (women can't be Pastors in most conservative churches)
Love the old sandwich signs (worn and stationary): REPENT! THE END IS NEAR!

The street preachers and evangelists have always been out and about throughout the Twin Cities, Minnesota, but even moreso after George Floyd. There were many, many, many Baptisms in what is now called George Floyd Square. The street preaching, evangelism, and Baptisms continue, even years later (and also many other places here).

My very meagre contribution is wearing John 3:16 or John 14:6 full-text T shirts and a crucifix everywhere. It's a safe way for muslim women and girls to get The Gospel. Giving them anything is life-and-death dangerous for them, as is openly sharing The Gospel or talking about religion, even just islam. Talking to them must be extremely brief, careful, look and sound like something other than evangelism to anyone observing, and can only be done by a woman. I generally don't say anything unless she speaks to me first.

Now that it's cold, Jesus is King or John 14:6 abbreviated text sweatshirt. The Jesus is King sweatshirt gets positive reactions from people, who consider it protest attire (no kings/anti-Trump) AND as The Gospel from Christians. Unless it's very cold inside, I usually take the sweatshirt off, and the usual Gospel text T shirt and crucifix are on underneath. If not, the crucifix gets put on the outside of the sweatshirt.

The Twin Cities is a huge and fertile mission field. Lots of people from other countries and cultures, who have never heard of Jesus, let alone what He did. Many don't read English. The crucifix is a visual that proclaims what Jesus did, and it's been the object of questions that have opened doors :)

Everyone that sees the front of my T shirt gets The Gospel from my "portable billboards"

For the State Fair and walking the dog in cool weather, I also have a sweatshirt, which says (on the back):
Dear person beind me
I hope you know Jesus loves you beyond measure
I pray he blesses you today
With love
The person in front of you

Need to get John 3:16 text put on the front of it and the T shirt like it (weather is unpredictable for the fair)

I've done some other things in some of the raunchiest and most dangerous places in the belly of the beast. As a woman, not a problem spiritually like it would be for a man in some places, and Jesus and His angels are with me wherever, so no problem with danger anywhere.

I had Some more thoughts after I went to bed.

Why do I go? I want people to have peace and joy, eternal security. I often share my testimony of how I had $16 in my checking account the day my husband died and how I got laid off 2 days later. How I KNEW God had my back and I could trust Him to provide, and He did. It haunts me there are so many who don't know Him and lack that.

March 5 2010 I had read a book on evangelism that said God delighted in using flawed and broken people. I had 2 pretty serious disabilities. I was praying. I surrendered myself to God and told Him I wanted Him to use me, however He could.

I then had a very clear vision of myself on a specific street corner waving at passing cars. I had a sign that said "Free Bibles" and a box at my feet. It certainly fit everything I had read in the Bible. AWESOME. I did it ; handed out 72 Bibles.

In something like this I believe we need to be led by the Holy Spirit. ❤️❤️❤️

I love testimonies from this outreach:

“Arthur Stace was one of Australia’s earliest graffiti artists. He wrote the word Eternity in beautiful copperplate script over the streets of Sydney more than half a million times over a span of 35 years. Before that, he was a homeless Aussie battler, a drunk and a criminal.

On 6 Aug 1930, at the age of 45, Arthur gave his life to the Lord after hearing a sermon by Reverend Hammond, the Anglican Minister at St Barney’s on Broadway. A few years later, on 14 Nov 1932, after hearing Reverend John Ridley’s sermon Echoes of Eternity, Arthur began to evangelise secretly by writing the word Eternity on the streets of Sydney. He wrote Eternity over a hundred times a day. It was not long before people began wondering who was writing this word and why. So began the legend of the mysterious Mr Eternity.”
